The bottom line with this summer's astrology is we are on the precipice of A FUTURE THAT DID NOT EXIST BEFORE. Some will be kick-started/pushed into it. Others will have to choose. There is a lot going on in July and August.
We start with Mercury retrograde and a Full Moon in sober Capricorn conjunct Memoria this sounds pretty precisely like the U.S./Iran peace talks pausing for the late Supreme Leader's funeral. Mars meets Uranus tomorrow launching a new two-year cycle of action/future, probably tech. Mars has not met Uranus in Gemini since the 1940's. Jupiter has just moved into Leo.
I am so far out of the loop right now that I did not even know about this weekend's wedding at Madison Square Garden - can anything be more Jupiter in Leo?!
AND the wedding is top secret and maybe not even happening. Also, Mercury is retrograde which makes me wonder if it has actually already happened and this is the afterparty?! Did they have a little intimate ceremony with less challenging astro? Have they been married before (in this life to each other or in a prior life)?
Let's move away from the heavier stuff and take a side quest and have a quickie look at the happy couple.
I knew Taylor Swift has a big stellium in 'GIRL-BOSS' Capricorn, but I didn't remember that her Sun in Sagittarius was TOTALLY UNASPECTED. Even when I add in the common asteroids. Zilch to her Sun. I am not sure I have seen this. If I have, I have forgotten. It is pretty rare. Does this make her a totally self-made woman? What do you think?
Most Suns argue with Saturn or flirt with Venus or compete with Mars ie adapt to natal aspects. An unaspected Sun, well, it simply IS. And the rest of the chart figures out how to orbit it. Of course, she will have transits to her Sun just like the rest of us, but it is still rather unusual.
With a heavily aspected Sun (more common), identity is constantly refined in real time - is this too much, is this acceptable, does this align with my relationships/duties/desires. With an unaspected Sun (like hers) - there wouldn't be this kind of internal feedback, so identity would probably get validated through external RESULTS. A kind of “I’ll just do it and see what happens". This seems to have worked pretty well with her Cappy stellium/career.
Swift's Sun's ruler Jupiter is in her 7th house at 7-degrees Cancer, and this is where other people come into the picture pretty quickly. Her Jupiter is in an exact conjunction with asteroid Apollo. She would definitely be looking for a larger-than-life partner - a Jupiter/Apollo type (and her Juno sextiling this tightly tells us she is likely to find one) and probably one with a welcoming family. Swift's Moon/Chiron enveloping the Jupiter/Apollo would make the process emotional/painful at times and we know her love-life (Jupiter opposing her Mercury tightly and Juno sextiling) musings put to music have made her famous. Her Juno, Jupiter's spouse, sits at 8 degrees Scorpio, so in a nice water trine to her Jupiter/Apollo in Cancer pulling in emotional depth and passion. Swift's Mars - we'll think of him as the Romeo character here - sits at 26-degrees Scorpio.
Travis Kelce was born just a few weeks before Taylor and when this happens in couple charts synastry gets tricky without accurate birth times and houses because much is the same in both charts. His Jupiter is conjunct Taylor's (hers is retro, so I would look at this as the King of the Gods going back in time to pick her up) and his Apollo is 10-degrees Leo - which we know is powerful with Trump's Pluto and Vance's Sun here AND, we can see Travis's natal Venus is at 26-degrees Scorpio, so his Venus - we'll think of her as the Juliet character here, although maybe I should pick a different romantic couple, one with a better ending - sits EXACTLY on Swift's Mars - that's nice synastry. He naturally appreciates, enjoys and validates how she goes after what she wants. She feels energized around him. It keeps attraction active rather than passive. The conjunction being in Scorpio makes it considerably deeper. There's a feeling of loyalty, protectiveness, emotional intensity and yes, physical chemistry. For a couple already established, this is something that simply doesn't cool off very easily.
Both his Venus and her Mars exactly oppose Algol at 26 degrees Taurus. You might remember both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard (born 23 years apart) have their natal Venus at 26 degrees Taurus right on fixed star Algol (they fell head over heels in love and then chopped each other's heads off).
We want something better than that for Taylor. Let's hope she gets it.
It takes courage for her to commit romantically under the bright-hot spotlight and to 'choose a future that didn't exist before'. Remember with Saturn in Aries we are all starting before we are totally ready ... there are no guarantees.
As for the venue itself since it plays a big role in the festivities and flashy (although hidden/Scorpio!) start - Madison Square Garden opened on February 11, 1968, with Neptune at 26-degrees Scorpio. The planet of fantasy and imagination and MSG's Sun is conjunct both their North Nodes of Fate and all three conjunct the United States natal Moon - so we know the public will be interested even with so much competing for everyone's attention this holiday weekend. The Sabian Symbol is the marching band/putting on a show (how fitting for the bride/groom and venue!) - and is about transforming the private into the public.
And as for the Mars/Uranus wedding day.
Well, Taylor's unaspected Sagittarius Sun ultimately has to author her own life. Mars/Uranus is almost the signature of this - no one else gets to decide how this chapter happens. And Travis has plenty of cardinal energy and doesn't strike me as someone threatened by decisive action. Mars/Uranus often favors people comfortable with spontaneity, competition and taking risks.
So much of astrology is symbolic and the groom does have a tight Mars/Sun (in Libra, the sign of partnership/marriage) so we could call him 'Mars' here and the bride does have a Uranus/Sun (in Cappy/Sag, so the signs of public/career and expansion/adventure) - although Swift's is just kind of conjunction-like and not actually conjunct/ wide and out-of-sign - still it is her closest solar contact by conjunction - the pairing on a Mars/Uranus conjunction makes symbolic sense.
Travis has a Grand Cardinal Cross natally and their wedding pulls her into it. Cardinal signs don't sit around wondering. They build. I hope they build something amazing.
xo all - back with this summer and the outer planets
