the astrology of the summer of 2026 | part III - the tripicity that comes to rebuild the kingdom, the winner loses and the loser wins, a bedtime story that cannot guarantee a happily ever after

Part I is HERE - the middle

Part II is HERE (a wedding sidequest)

This summer the outer planets have formed an extraordinary alignment. The combination of trines and sextiles has long been called a 'cradle' in astrology, but this year is more often referred to as a 'basket'. With the World Cup going on here in the U.S. I am liking the word "cup" and we have asteroid Hebe (the cupbearer) exact on the U.S. Sun at the peak of this, so I think I will stick with this.

Plus, it makes me think of 'tea' and the revolution and my favorite cup that reads 'we're all mad here" :)

On July 19th-22nd - and this really starts to strengthen around the 14th - we will have Pluto at 4-degrees Aquarius, Neptune at 4-degrees Aries (exactly conjunct asteroid Borasisi named for the Sun God of the tech dystopia novel Cat's Cradle) and Uranus at 4-degrees Gemini. So, Pluto will be trining Uranus and sextiling Neptune and Uranus will be sextiling Neptune. Jupiter will reach 4-degrees Leo and oppose Pluto, trine Uranus and sextile Neptune and then the Sun will follow Jupiter's footsteps.

Let's unpack this as a fable first with the main players and then we will look at the astro and asteroids and pull in the politics and our lives.

All stories start (and end) with the conjunction. Jupiter's opposition to Pluto is the culmination/end game of their starting point - the THREE CONJUNCTIONS back in 2020 - when time ran out and the United States was having its Pluto return and we were all sent home (North Node in Cancer/home and keep in mind Mercury is retrograde in Cancer now) and pushed apart physically and closer via technology. Jupiter/Pluto then had their opening square in May 2023 within days of Saturn's first steps into Aquarius and the conversation was all about AI going to kill us/the generative-AI explosion into public consciousness, we also had - this was happening Taurus/Aquarius - the spring 2023 regional banking failures, the debt-ceiling standoff and the Brits crowned their new King (yes, we will get back to this!). Now we get the OPPOSITION in Gemini and a perfect alignment with Uranus and Neptune ... we have to start with a story - just keep in mind the story might change as we unpack the astrology more in the next post!

The Three Gods Came to Rebuild the Kingdom

At a time when an old kingdom had outlived its maps, three ancient Gods quietly met at the edge of the world.

The first was Pluto, Lord of the Underworld. Pluto did not build castles or write laws. Instead he ruled what survived after everything false had fallen away.

The second was Uranus. He never arrived through the front door or ever as expected. He came as lightning, invention, revelation, CHAOS. He cared nothing for tradition which he saw as a prison.

The third was Neptune. The keep of dreams. He dissolved borders others believed were permanent. He whispered of faith, imagination, compassion, ideals and the invisible threads connecting every living thing. BUT he also carried the danger of illusion, because although, yes, dreams can inspire kingdoms, they can also enchant them into sleep.

For a long while, these three had worked at odds with one another. But now they found themselves in rare harmony. Pluto looked toward Uranus and said, "Break what no longer serves. I will make certain what emerges has real roots." Uranus nodded. "Then every revolution need not become chaos." "Or deception", added Neptune.

So together they began rebuilding the kingdom. The work was not fast or comfortable. Old identities cracked. Ancient systems dissolved. New languages appeared. People discovered that the future was arriving before they had agreed upon what to call it. It was messy. And uncomfortable. But maybe beneath the disruption was an unusual cooperation.

Power...

Innovation...

Vision...

Each strengthened the others instead of pulling them apart. Then, just as the builders settled into their work, a trumpet sounded across the hills. The King had arrived. Jupiter had reached 4-degrees Leo. Jupiter in Leo believed that people do not live by systems alone. They need stories. They need courage. They need JOY. They need someone willing to step into the sunlight and remind them they possess a heart.

Looking across the kingdom, Jupiter found Pluto overseeing the great reconstruction. "Your work is necessary," Jupiter said, "but tell me Pluto ... who is all this power for?" Pluto did not hesitate. "Power answers to no one", he replied.

The King scratched the itchy head under his crown. "It should", he replied.

And so began their great debate which became something like a battle between power and the purpose of power. Pluto insisted that transformation required control, strategy and the willingness to dismantle what has become obsolete/what was dead. Jupiter insisted that transformation means little if it does not ultimately enlarge life, restore confidence and inspire human beings to become more generous than they were before.

And into this great debate, the South Nodal winds blew in and quietly whispered.

"Perhaps that is no longer the right question Jupiter." Perhaps the person who clings hardest to the throne may discover it has become a cage and the one who willingly lays down the crown may discover an authority that cannot be taken away.

The kingdom watched, still certain the old rules of winners and losers applied and that it knew who was winning. But the old measures no longer worked. Some victories became burdens. Some losses became freedoms. Some who rose would find themselves carrying a weight they could not bear. Some who stepped aside would discover they had become impossible to move.

In this new age, the winner might lose... ...and the loser might ... finally become free.

xo all

Remember these words from Part I - the king enters. The court rearranges itself. But maybe the next part we will change to - the crown grows strangely heavy. And everyone discovers that ruling and reigning are not the same thing. Let's look at the politics and the personal next!
