Saturn Square Chiron | restrictions, being made aware of our weaknesses, duty, guilt, obligations, NO, feeling stuck, wounding conversations, healing conversations, deep thinking, a karmic wrap-up

Deep, thoughts .. by Kenrocks

Today, we have Saturn (in his final two months in Sagittarius) squaring Chiron (in Pisces). This is their third and final square, since last December, in these two signs.

Check THURSDAY in the weekly HERE.

Saturn requires us to put in the hours and do the hard work. There are no short-cuts. I guarantee that as a reader of this blog, this is not a challenging concept for you.

If it was you wouldn't have read more than one post, because I am very Saturnian (Saturn natally one degree from my Aquarius Sun in my 3rd house of communication) and you would have been turned off and think I am "too negative" (which I can be, of course). You likely have some strong Saturn/Capricorn/10th house yourself with some hardy Virgo and/or Plutonian energy tossed in for good measure!

Now Chiron is not as well understood as Saturn.

He is a much more recent discovery and astrologers are still working him out. It would appear, based on the mythology, and what astrological researchers can see from studying hundreds/thousands of charts - that the space he occupies in our natal chart contains an un-healable wound. It is more of a "learn to live with it" kind of thing.

You can imagine with Saturn (work, time, limits, father) squaring the wounded healer (Chiron) multiple times this year - there would be a story, or various stories, of accepting some limit or restriction or being forced to deal with something we don't want to deal with.

With Saturn/Chiron this could be about a vulnerability passed down to us through our father's lineage.

Now, this time - maybe 3rd time is the charm - we have the gift of Mercury (in Scorpio) trining Chiron during his square to Saturn. There is a way out/back door here.

Mercury in Scorpio could require intensive research or puzzling through the problem. It could be about deep honesty - talking about whatever this is with another person or writing about it. This is not going to work unless we go deep (Scorpio) with our mind (Mercury).

If we are on the receiving end of a conversation like this, and someone is being vulnerable to us, it is important to hold a space for the other person's words. Don't judge. Let the person know you are listening. You don't have to have all or even any of the answers. There is a reason they are talking to you though. What are you hearing?

At the same time Mercury is inconjunct Uranus. Can anything be anything other than complicated this year! Ugh!

So the communication/information/language or the response to it could be unexpected and catch us off guard.

The Moon is in easy-to-anger Aries.

If we are tempted toward saying something hurtful - STOP - go after something easier to replace than a friend/job, etc - tear up the junk mail, break some sticks, take a LONG, sweaty walk.

There could be something that feels like failure here. We might be acutely aware of our past mistakes/shortcuts and the time we have wasted (which we didn't). We could be dealing with issues around emotional blackmail/guilt. Talk about what hurts. Write it down.

We are moving into a brand new age and truly we need to be not as emotionally connected to our past as we once were. We can't be and do what we need to do. Can you feel the truth of that?

I saw a documentary about a man who woke up on a subway with no memory. Eventually his family found him, but he didn't remember them and they didn't recognize him. He talked differently. He walked differently. He liked different clothes and movies and a different flavor of ice cream. This makes sense, right. All the experiences that impacted who he was were erased. He was/got to be a totally different person.

This isn't exactly what is happening to us as a collective as we move into a new world, but in some ways it is. We are evolving.

The sweet spot in a less emotional attachment to our past is the wide-open space that is being created to make new memories. Self-limiting beliefs about who we are and what we can do are being erased. We can work from our roots. It is actually freeing us up.

This might be a hard couple days for some people. Be gentle with ourselves and others. We really are all in this together.

Venus Sextile the North Node, Samhain| happy celtic new year, HAPPY HALLOWEEN, ancestral assistance, relationship from the past resurfaces, opportunities with women, cooperative efforts move us forward, agreements are reached

Sully, the mad scientist, at Saturday's Halloween party - not the photobooth camper -  this one might become a book mobile though!

Today is actually the first day of the Celtic New Year/first day of winter and was presided over by the Goddess Samhain. The ancients believed the veil between the worlds was thinnest now and certainly today's Moon in unbounded Pisces helps that along.

This is a good time to say a prayer for our ancestors well-being and also to ask them for their help. Our relationship with them works both ways. There was a scene in the Spielberg movie 'Amistad' where the brave Mende tribesman Sengbe Pieh stood in the crowded bowels of the slave ship and appealed to his ancestors for assistance, "I am the only reason you were ever born", he cried out. There is some truth to this. Not only in a physical sense of carrying a bloodline, but more importantly in the spiritual sense of "continuing their story".

The birth of my nephew, whose birth chart (natal chart from the moment he drew his first breath - in his case calculated by my brother down to the millisecond so he could give me the correct time) is such an exact representation of his parents' story at the time of his birth has convinced me our chart is not only a road-map for our personal journey (our spiritual contract) and a complete embodiment of that actual moment in time for us to carry for the collective, but also a perfect accounting of our parents' story through that moment the baton is passed and we pick up whatever bits and pieces we have agreed to work with. Of course, the same happened at their birth and their parents' birth and so on and so on back through time.

So complicated as to be unbelievable that all these pieces could fit so nicely together ... and yet they do.

The Pisces Moon encourages creative work and connecting with other people until the Moon goes void at 5:08PM EDT. It moves into Aries at 11:43PM EDT. A Void Moon during the trick or treating hours makes me think of people wandering around lost in the dark, so keep your children close. The Moon's last aspect before the void is a square to Saturn creating inflexibility and a need to follow the rules. This is NOT a good time to use drugs or overindulge in anything. Stay grounded. Keep your wits about you.

Today we also have Venus (strong in her home sign of Libra) sextiling the North Node (in Leo) at 21 degrees. Sextiles represent opportunities and Venus rules love, money, women, our values and self-esteem. At the same time she is, of course, trining (brakes off) the South Node (in Aquarius).

Whatever/whoever (a romance, woman, friendship, group, ideal) leaves now is meant to go. It should go smoothly. With Venus it could be a value or something we believe about ourselves/our situation that has outlived its usefulness.

Stay open to the opportunities that come up.

Maybe something or someone from the past resurfaces now. Maybe this is about carrying something we used to love with us as we journey forward - we are reminded somehow of what we need to keep.

There could be opportunities through women or through working with Venusian themes.

Cooperative efforts within relationships - both personal and business - create future opportunities. Agreements are reached. Relationships started now have a feeling of being fated.

Whatever this is for us, the energy is smooth and pleasant.

Enjoy the day. xo all

Mercury Square the North and South Nodes | mentally stuck, between the past and the future, finding the right words, opening our mind, sibling rivalry, as Jack would say, "you can't handle the truth!"

ncnb by StarofDavid
Today we have Mercury at 21 degrees (in Scorpio) squaring the North Node (in Leo) and the South Node (in Aquarius). The North Node is our collective way forward. The South Node is our collective past. Mercury is our mental abilities, communications and ideas.

As we mentally shift from the old into the new maybe something (a worn out belief about ourselves and the world we don't need to carry anymore) has us stuck. So we are given the gift of this square to bring things to a tension/crisis point and help shift our trajectory.

There is some information/conversation we need to work through or get past now. With Scorpio, it is probably something intimate and uncomfortable.

There is a choice here. We can retreat back into the detachment of that Aquarian South Node - maybe into the safety of being anonymous, of being the audience.

Or we can bravely (Leo) step into whatever this is for us and bring it out into the light and onto center stage.

There could be a fear of speaking out or standing up and apart from the group.

Maybe a new idea has taken root, but it requires us to do something new and unusual.

Maybe there is a truth we are afraid to hear (or speak) because then we will have to deal with it.

And yes, there could be challenges here - this is a square after all.

Remember our North Node is ALWAYS the path forward. So it is through Leo - following our heart, courage, confidence, generosity, showmanship - we move forward now.

That uncomfortably intimate conversation/idea may not be easy to work with. But we aren't getting out of this space - stuck between the future and the past - until we do. Trust yourself.

Note: since Mercury also rules siblings, our local environment and transportation - there could also be an issue within these themes, or the theme of our natal Scorpio house, that we need to 'get past'. This square is exact today but has been in play for a couple days and will be in play for a couple more.

I am a little under the weather today with two store orders to get out on Monday, so will jump right to the big stuff and do the usual dailies during the week!

The larger celestial happenings start on THURSDAY when Saturn (in Sagittarius) squares Chiron (in Pisces) at 24 degrees.

The Saturn/Chiron square has been one of 2017's biggest aspects and this is our third go-round. We also had this square on December 28, 2016 (21 degrees) and April 30, 2017 (27 degrees). And Saturn and Chiron will square each other again in 2018, but by that time Saturn will be in Capricorn and Chiron will be in Aries - so the story will have shifted.

Squares are tension and change our trajectory. This one could hurt. Maybe we get a 'no' from an authority figure. Or maybe we are required to step into our own authority and say no. It's a good time to remember we learn from experience not from success or failure.

The results of our actions are sometimes out of our hands.

Maybe some obligation or responsibility or debt needs to be lived up to. Maybe some rule is rubbing us the wrong way or limiting us.

Maybe something about whatever hurts here feels familiar. How are our beliefs impacting this situation? What is really true here? When I see Saturn (time) and Chiron (wound) together I think of the old adage "time heals all wounds". Maybe this applies. Or maybe this will apply later.

The good news - and this will sound familiar from last week when Mercury sextiled Pluto! - is that Mercury is trining (brakes off) Chiron at the same time Chiron is squaring Saturn.

Mercury (in Scorpio) is our way through this tangle.

Honest and open dialogue. Thorough research. Deep communication. Conversations about the very stuff we don't want to talk about. The hurt could be something humbling here.

This is the most direct route to the assistance/guidance we need. This is where the buried treasure lies. There could be alternatives, resources and possibilities we hadn't thought about. At the very least there is room for understanding if we allow ourselves to be exposed and vulnerable - and yes, I realize the nights are getting chilly and this is the last thing we might want to be!

The Moon will go void at 12:03PM EDT until midnight. Not a good time for launching anything new or sending anything out you need something to "come of".

Late FRIDAY/early SATURDAY we have the Full Moon in Taurus (Sun in Scorpio).

The Sun and Moon are squaring Ceres (in Leo). The Moon will be sextiling (opportunity) Neptune (retrograde in Pisces). The Sun will be trining (brakes off) Neptune. At the same time Venus (in Libra and the ruler of Taurus and this Full Moon) will be opposing Uranus (in Aries). And Uranus will be trining (brakes off) Saturn. We'll discuss it more thoroughly later in the week - this could all be about one thing for us or play out in multiple situations.

Full Moons are culmination points. They bring things to light. They brings things to a conclusion. They send us howling into the night.

The positive aspects with watery Neptune tells us that anything running through our hands now (dissolving) is meant to go. Its release will free up our hands for more solid holdings.

With Uranus (the unexpected) opposing the Moon's ruler Venus whatever is coming to light or concluding now could be surprising or pull us off into an entirely new direction.

Some people will get lucky. Something could reach its maximum value now.

Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius and I am going to stop writing we are moving into the Age of Aquarius and just say we are in it! I think we can all feel this. There is no "normal" anymore. There is only change and resistance to change.

That square with nurturing Ceres tips us off to potential tension regarding motherhood or growth or security issues.

Again the Taurus/Scorpio contrast between what we have and what we want/need/don't have. We will talk about this later in the week.

Will be back with the dailies.

BIG xo all

Note - Pisces Moons on Monday (beginning mid-morning) and Tuesday are excellent energy for dreaming, creative work, connecting with people on a deeper level - also to drift off-course. Keep this in mind.
