the astrology of the full moon in libra | April 1st, 2026 - THE RED, THE BLUE AND THE FIELD OF POSSIBILITIES BETWEEN THEM - creating something together we can live in.

We came back from a quick trip to the lovely state of Tennessee to a pile of work, a messy house (not that unusual I admit) and a stomachache from Dollywood Cinnamon Cake that I stood in line for over an hour to get because people told us we had to try it. And because it was good. And because with Jupiter in Cancer one slice of cake can easily turn into two ginormous pieces. Tennessee is over 700 miles from New Jersey, and the trip was only a few days and involved two New Jersey drivers who have been at a standoff lately and Mercury/Mars in Pisces, so you can imagine :)

I didn't want to miss today's Full Moon post, but don't quite have the bandwidth for a full unpacking so wrote this on the trip back.

As always, I hope something here is helpful.

Luna reaches her fullness at 10:12PM EDT on April 1st at 12 degrees Libra opposing the Aries Sun.

Full Moons are always a time of PEAK energy. There can be a culmination, a completion. Something comes TO LIGHT. In general, during a Libra Moon, we might notice the ways our life/relationships have moved out of balance. Who/what we are attracted to now. Who/what we are withdrawing from or is withdrawing from us. The planets are mostly divided between drifting/dreaming/exhaustion in Pisces and beginning/fighting in Aries and the Moon is once again mightily outmanned (making imbalances more strongly felt).

The Full Moon, at 12-degrees Libra opposes the Aries Sun. The Moon squares Jupiter in Cancer. The Moon opposes Saturn - separating. The Moon sextiles Black Moon Lilith. Venus, the ruler of this lunation has just come home to Taurus and sits between Chiron (that conjunction is separating) and Ceres (applying).

I wrote a fable on here once that was quite fun and am spending an inordinate amount of time thinking about hues and colors lately determined to not let my old house continue to fade to gray, and there is April Fool's Day to think about, so let's toss in colors.

THE RED, THE BLUE AND THE FIELD OF POSSIBILITIES BETWEEN THEM - creating something together we can live in. The Full Moon in Libra.

Once, there was RED. Red knew itself clearly. Red moved quickly, acted instinctively and trusted its own direction. Maybe Red's name was really George.

“I am,” said Red - and that was enough.

And somewhere else, there was BLUE. Blue, too, knew itself. Steady, reflective, aware of balance and proportion. Maybe Blue's name was really Catherine.

“I see,” said Blue - and that, too, was enough.

For a long time, they existed separately, whole, but alone.

Then one day, the crayon box shifted slightly and into the wee hands of a little girl named Kella, creating another masterpiece, slid the color RED and the color BLUE.

They met.

At first, they tried to remain exactly as they were, so RED stayed sharp, immediate, unfiltered and BLUE stayed measured, composed and aware.

But something unexpected happened in their meeting. Between them, a new color began to appear. Not Red. Not Blue.

PURPLE (Full Moon in Libra)

Purple could not exist without red and blue, but purple was not red and not blue.

To allow it, something subtle was required - RED softened its urgency just enough to listen and BLUE softened its distance just enough to feel.

Not exactly a sacrifice and not exactly a loss, although, yes, something was sacrificed and something was lost. More though a willingness to be changed by the presence of another.

And yet, just as Purple began to form, a great tide rose nearby. This was the Keeper of Waters (Jupiter in Cancer). He expanded everything he touched, so feelings grew deeper and needs became louder and old longings stirred beneath the surface

"Can this new color hold what is real?" he asked. "Can it nourish and not just harmonize?"

The waters tested them. Sometimes Purple wavered - too much Red, and it burned. Too much Blue, and it faded.

Watching from a distance was the Stone Guardian (Saturn). He had already drawn certain lines in the earth. "This far," he said quietly. "No further." And though his voice was not loud, it was FINAL. Some paths had already closed to them. Some shapes would not hold.

But nearby, in a quieter place, stood the Garden Keeper (Venus in Taurus). She touched the ground, the body and the senses. "Come back here," she said. "To what is simple. To what is real." She asked them only - does this feel good? is this valuable? is there enough here to sustain you?

Behind her stood the Wounded Healer (Chiron), reminding them where it had hurt to meet. Ahead of her, the Nourisher and SEASON CHANGER (Ceres), holding the promise of something like, maybe even in this late season of life WE CAN GROW SOMETHING THAT FEEDS US, IF WE CHOOSE WELL.

And just beyond all of them, on the edge of the wild, stood the Untamed One (Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius). She did not enter the circle, but she spoke: "Do not forget what you wanted before you were told not to want it." Her voice was not disruptive, but it was undeniable.

So, RED and BLUE stood together again, this time differently. Not asking as they so often had - How do we make this work? But this time instead - Is what we are creating true? Does it nourish us?

And as they asked, PURPLE either deepened … or dissolved.

Maybe this Full Moon feels like this moment. When something culminates between self and other, but only if it can hold emotion, truth and reality and still feel like SOMETHING WE CAN LIVE INSIDE (maybe with some Dollywood Cinnamon Cake).

Back with the first of many April posts as this doozy of a month takes shape ... and we will look at this lunation again in the weekly, too :)

xo all

Also, NASA's Artemis II launches tonight on a Full Moon in Libra with Asteroid Artemis/the huntress (Mars' twin) conjunct Chiron and Eris (another sister of Mars) ... oh my.
