Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | November 9th - November 16th, 2020 - Mars direct, Jupiter meets Pluto again, New Moon in Scorpio, INTENSE week ahead folks

This week is packed with intense aspects and transits. We'll unpack this with some dailies and a look ahead at the rest of 2020 and a BIG New Moon post.

MONDAY - Venus opposes Mars (retrograde), Ceres enters Pisces

TUESDAY - Sun trines Neptune, Mercury enters Scorpio

WEDNESDAY - Venus inconjuncts Neptune

THURSDAY - Sun inconjuncts the North Node, Jupiter and Pallas conjunct Pluto* (3rd time)

FRIDAY - Venus trines the North Node, Mars stations direct

SATURDAY - Sun sextiles Pluto then Sun sextiles Jupiter

SUNDAY - Mercury inconjunct Chiron, New Moon in Scorpio

MONDAY - Venus (15 degree Libra) opposes a retrograde Mars (15 degrees Aries)

Our male and female energies stand across the skies from each other from their home signs. Mars retrograde in Aries might have brought frustrating delays or actions that didn't get us anywhere. It's also been  about anger (old/hidden). So, when Venus, strong and direct in Libra moves into an opposition - what we want (Venus) is frustrating because we can't just go and get it or because we have been considering/re-considering our actions for so long we feel stuck. Or maybe we want to cooperate/relate, but maintain our own individuality, too. Our actions can push someone away or we could be the one who can't be pleased. There can be a relationship result/ending/turning point now or maybe an important 'air clearing' argument. Libra is a strategist and with Mercury at the very end of Libra we can still be civil, strive for balance/peace/cooperation. After today, Mercury will be back in Scorpio. So conversations are going to get deeper/more intimate (also more cutting/painful/empowering) as he/she moves through Scorpio again.

At the same time Ceres re -enters Pisces. Remember Ceres was at the January palaver with Pluto, Saturn, Mercury and the Sun when "time ran out" and she is following in Mercury's footsteps from earlier in the year retrograding back and forth through Pisces (viruses, spread of disease). Ceres is about mothering (maybe especially losses related to mothering like empty nests, death of important pets, etc), change of life issues, situations outside our control. In Pisces she is almost certainly bringing up the need to release what we cannot control. She can bring our attention to situations where we are smother-mothering something/someone ie over nurturing. She can bring our attention to situations outside our control (cycles of life) that need to be healed/released. She can bring our attention (and remember we have walked these degrees twice already) to situations that are draining us. She will be in Pisces until late February 2021.

TUESDAY - Sun (18 degrees Scorpio) trines a retrograde Neptune (18 degrees Pisces)

Neptune dissolves boundaries (sometimes even the ones we need!) and with the Sun in Scorpio we are fueled by going deep/intimate/getting to the bottom of things. The trine (brakes off) can enable true connection/intimacy or a no-holds-barred dive into something we are already obsessing over/are compulsive about. Keep in mind with Neptune the way he gathers up what we suspect to be true as if it is even if it isn't. This can be deep healing/spiritual breakthroughs or an unhealthy dive into something fantastical/illusive. It's a good time for a swim, just make sure there's water in that pool before diving in!

Mercury gets back into Scorpio - walking these degrees for the third time now. Libra's social niceties yield to Scorpio's tendency toward sharper more cutting tones. Deep conversations. Dealing with financial information/merged resources. Looking under the hood. We've been here before, so we know what we know now. The downside of this transit is mental obsessions, thinking the shadows of our shoes under the bed are actual monsters (and not just ugly shoes) or any tendency toward suspicion or jealousy. With the North Node in Gemini and answering to Mercury - Mercury's change of sign can have an even bigger impact. She/he will be in Scorpio until December 9th.

WEDNESDAY - Venus (18 degrees Libra) inconjuncts Neptune (18 degrees Pisces)

So, now it's Venus's turn to chat up Neptune.Venus (as us) in Libra wants love, peace, harmony, balance, but when she moves into this awkward aspect with confusing Neptune we could find ourselves in love with (attracted to) a lie or dealing with unrealistic expectations. Libra is an air sign so we have to stop and think. Does this make sense/cents? Save important interactions for another day if possible because we won't be seeing other people clearly now. Keep your credit card in your wallet.

THURSDAY - Sun (20 degrees Scorpio) inconjuncts the North Node (20 degrees Gemini), Jupiter meets Pluto and Pallas - for the third time - this time with ALL planets direct on the HOT 22 degrees Capricorn.

The Sun is now inconjunct - that awkward rock and a hard place - our North Node path forward. The Sun in Scorpio wants to go deep/commit (or quit). The North Node is in mutable "a little of this and a little of that" Gemini. Scorpio is deep truth. Gemini is the facts that are maybe not always so factual. Inconjuncts require a give and take and then a knowledge that each side will need to adjust to the other.

At the same time Jupiter meets up with Pluto. Again. This is Jupiter and Pluto's third conjunction and the first happening on the uber HOT 22 degrees Capricorn from last January (before this year's three-peating Jupiter/Pluto - the last time these mega-players met was in December 2007, so Joe Biden would have been in between his election as Vice President and his inauguration). What was happening in your life in December 2007 - what has come full circle?

Keep in mind Jupiter expands and Pluto intensifies, demolishes and transforms. Pallas brings the wise strategies we need to get through this/for these energies to work TOGETHER effectively.

This is crisis/opportunity and pulls us toward Sunday's New Moon that Pluto rules. This is more power for the powerful, for better or worse. Truth can be exposed/magnified. We had this aspect back on April 4th (covid spiking in the states, financial stimulus - but we had Venus in Gemini trining Saturn then, too) and June 30th (with both planets retrograde - so, our second chance), so here's the final shot/the conclusion of whatever has been expanding since last April. Whether this is positive or challenging will depend on what we have done with the previous alignments.

We'll talk about this more as we move through the week.

FRIDAY - Venus (20 degrees Libra) trines the North Node (20 degrees Gemini)

Venus themes (relationships, financies, self-esteem, women, beauty) progress smoothly. A relationship aligns us with the future. Send that email. Answer that phone. Here is more information/more choices. Watch for synchronicities and those "aha" moments.

Mars stations direct. It may take him a few days to get moving, but here we go. We are back to July 25th when Mars stationed retrograde, so maybe something that got held up around that time can get going again. This retrograde period - to re-work or re-plan our actions, to curb our impulsivity/gather experience/manage our anger - has been necessary.

From here on out, or really after Sunday's New Moon, the astro does not support backward motion. We need to move and grow, because while we are still living/sitting HERE, 2020 is pulsing/swirling forward, it’s a fight in a tornado for all of us baby, and keep in mind the most important news headline this Scorpio season (that you probably won't find on any news stand) - WE ARE NOT DEAD.

SATURDAY - Sun (22 degrees Scorpio) sextiles Pluto and then sextiles Jupiter (23 degrees Cappy)

Here is where the Sun in Scorpio really starts to pay off - by sextiling the Cappy planets! This is all about stepping into our power/authenticity. Respect/confidence comes through going deep/intimate. Being fearless. If you have any power moves to make - and yes, I realize this is a Saturday, (this is in play Thursday/Friday, too) - well, this is the time to make them! Sun/Jupiter can bring luck/opportunity/expansion.

SUNDAY - New Moon (23 degrees Scorpio), Mercury (5 degrees Scorpio) inconjuncts a retrograde Chiron (5 degrees Aries)

A New Moon in scorched earth Scorpio speaks of starting from the very beginning with something. I love that about Scorpio!

We'll talk about this in its own post.

xo all - we'll also take a look at the rest of 2020 this week - because we still have some of the biggest astrology of 2020 AHEAD of us!

Today's Astrology Forecast | Sunday, November 8, 2020 - relationship spotlights, needing an eraser or a lawyer or a paternity test, needing to have some fun

The Moon is in Leo now and the big news today is her square to the Sun (in Scorpio) this morning. This month's Third Quarter Square. At the same time we've got the Sun meeting Juno (16 degrees).

Juno is about our relationships/commitments/contracts. The Sun shines a spotlight - of the intense/penetrating white hot variety - and closes out/begins a new cycle. Happening at the same time as this frustrating Third Quarter Square (which keep in mind is clearing the ground for the Scorpio New Moon on the 15th and we ignore this 'clearing out' part at our own peril) AND as we prepare for tomorrow's Venus vs Mars title bout we'll talk about in the upcoming weekly, makes this energy even more potent.

Scorpio/Leo is hidden truth/life and death power vs ego/kingly power. The Wizard of Oz vs the Man Behind the Curtain. Leo/Scorpio can also be fun/joy vs passion/intensity. What we do in public vs what we do in secret. Happening with the Juno/Sun conjunction speaks of contracts that need to be re-written. Maybe because one party has not held up their end (ie had the audacity, for better or worse, to change) or maybe the expiration date has come and gone. With Juno apt to do what she has to do to hold things together - maybe hidden compulsions, manipulations, jealousies need to be dealt with.

If things that were previously agreed upon (spoken and not) needs to rehashed - here is a powerful cosmic portal to figure out the new terms.

Our relationships are at the very heart of these immense 2020 challenges/changes. Especially our primary relationships. Our partner is our biggest mirror. It is sometimes hard to see how changes in them are mirroring changes in ourselves, but they are. Good relationships can feel really good now. Expired ones can feel like they are eating us alive. Challenging relationships that help us create "oneness" with "the other" are incredibly powerful. A commitment to someone else is ultimately a commitment to ourselves (which is why the expired ones with the cracked fun-house mirrors are so deadly). The Moon in Leo says 'choose yourself", oxygen mask on your own face first. The Sun in Scorpio says "merge or purge", go big/deep or go home, commit or quit.

So, what needs to change?

xo all

The collective is given a choice - the King or the Truth? The daddy who tells us what we want to hear or the daddy who shows us what we need to know (although with Jupiter in Capricorn there is an inflated sense of seriousness/fear here, keep this in mind). The patriarchy is crumbling and getting stronger. This is happening within ourselves, too. So, which daddy is the real daddy? Is there a paternity test out there for this kind of stuff yet? What is happening now as Jupiter meets Pluto for the third and final time - will probably show us what we are unconsciously asking to know.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Saturday, November 7, 2020 - taking care of ourselves, angry outbursts, delays, cleaning things up, having some fun

The Moon, in Leo now, floats through most of the day unaspected, finally coming to square a retrograde Uranus at 5:49PM EDT - so there could be something #unexpected, #not unexpected tonight. The Moon in Leo turns our focus to children, romance, fun/recreation, our creative projects and natural spotlight. She also turns our focus to the "king".

There are a bunch of persnickety (is this a word, I don't know why I am wanting to write it) aspects today including the Sun (at 15 Scorpio) inconjunct Mars (retrograde in Aries). We might find ourselves abruptly angry or angry over old situations (or delays). Take your time. Don't push. Avoid actions motivated by fear/anger. Try to avoid unnecessary altercations. Scorpio/Aries is passionate, but dangerous.

(Mars is slowed WAY down/stopped, expect delays and irritation because Mars in Aries isn't one for sitting still!)

One smooth aspect I see today is Venus sextile Hygiea (Hygiea by the way is no minor celestial body - she is the 4th largest asteroid in our Solar System), making this a good day to take care of ourselves. Clean up/air out our physical space. Do something healthy. Hygiea is in Leo, too, now (like our Moon) - so taking care of ourselves includes having fun. Try that.

Going to look ahead to the rest of the month tonight - Jupiter meets Pluto again, for the third and final time, something HUGE is wanting to happen next week. Buckle up.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Friday, November 6, 2020 - feeling the pinch

The Moon in Cancer trined Neptune at 4:13AM EST and then moves through her oppositions to Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn between 11:00AM and 7:51PM EST, finally going void off a square to Mercury at 8:27PM EST. So, our Cancer/Pisces houses are the way through the day (their themes or the collective themes of home, family, creativity, art, music, being in or near water, healing, spirituality, meditation, prayer).

Those pressurized/limiting Cappy oppositions won't be easy, especially with the Moon in Cancer, uber sensitive/needing to feel safe. Squares to Mercury can bring arguments, challenging news. It is hard to communicate/stay in balance, then she goes void so we can chill out or stew about it.

Our choice.

The icing on the cake - Mercury (in Libra) squares Saturn for the third time. A hard conversation must be had/challenging news must be faced. We want to just kind of slip around something/sweet talk our way out of it/pour pink paint and call some pile of crap a barbie dream house. Saturn says, "no way buddy". More pressure. Limits. The need to make a plan. Frustration around relationships or commitments. This is the final square, so we know this is ABOUT TO BE IN THE PAST. We need to make a choice, yes, with Mercury in Libra! Ugh! A delay will end ONCE WE DO. Once we make the freakin' plan we will FEEL BETTER.

Maybe this is someone's opportunity to STEP UP/take responsibility/do the big-girl, grown-up thing.

With so many planets in their home signs - mostly cardinal, so hard squares and oppositions. Jupiter in his detriment in Capricorn (since last November and thankfully for only SIX more weeks). Expansion stopped, faith tested, travel restricted, wide-scale rules, feeling responsible for everyone, overblown depression, less is more, but it's still freakin' less, the seriousness of the matter being exaggerated, coming down to earth and being forced to be realistic about our options. Have I missed anything? Yes. This is Jupiter. I've missed alot. And Jupiter is ruling our South Node, which is what needs to be  released, yes, but also where we are RIGHT NOW.

Neptune is almost the only #comfortable, #toocomfortable energy and that's why we don't know what the hell is real. That's why it's easy to slip into escape or fantastical thinking. Also because this energy is physically exhausting, we probably need to give Neptune something to do - think art, music, time spent in or near water, meditation, prayer, extra sleep/extra hydration, etc - on the other hand when we give Neptune too much to do, he can literally dissolve us/we can become a ghost in our own life. We can become unmoored. One simple thing - DON'T spend one more moment scrolling. Choose a movie over a youtube video. Choose a book over a movie.

Don't cut any corners now. These Cappy oppositions and that Mercury square will bite us in the ass ... fast. Hang in there. Do your work. I know it's Friday, but don't cut out early.

xo all

(with the U.S. Election so close, imagine if instead of a patriarchal winner-take-all, we moved RIGHT NOW (Mercury in Libra squaring Saturn in Cappy) into a partnership government with co-Presidents working TOGETHER. Which is not as crazy as it sounds because our original system allowed the winner to become President and the "loser" Vice President. That would be world changing. We could save ourselves so much heartache and pain over the next couple years as we face our nation's Pluto return! How can we apply this lesson in our own life? How are we enabling this patriarchal/hierarchical "winner-take-all" dying dead world to keep us stuck?)

Today's Astrology Forecast | Thursday, November 5, 2020 - sensitivity, intimacy, coming home to our deepest feelings, relationship give and take

The Moon has come home to Cancer. We could be feeling more sensitive/moody if things don't go our way. More comfortable/cozy when they do. Either way our focus turns to home, family, renovation, home business, family business, real estate, mothering, patriotism.

She sextiles a retrograde Uranus at 9:18AM EST (opportunity for change), squares Venus (in Libra) at 1:22PM EST (tension/frustration within relationships, with cooperation/fairness), trines the Sun at 8:06PM EST and finally squares a retrograde/antsy Mars at 11:08PM EST (feeling defensive, discontented avoid taking things too personally).

The Moon's trine to the Scorpio Sun is this month's Waning Trine - Cancer/Scorpio.

We can share deep/intense feelings or we can personally dive into them all by ourselves. The comfort comes through intense experiences. This is good energy for emotional discussions/sharing what we are really feeling. Trines create smooth flow - the brakes are off - if you need to cry, it's time to cry. Whatever you feel, allow yourself to really feel it.  Pent up emotions can be released, especially pertaining to whatever the Taurus Full Moon has brought to light or culminated.

At the same time Mars (retrograding through Aries) inconjuncts Juno at 15 degrees Scorpio. This is a relationship/partnership even a male/female 'rock and a hard place'. Maybe one partner's inability to move forward or their old anger/impatience is coming up against (with Juno in Scorpio) intimacy/financial situations/bottom lines - that seem to need to be addressed. Juno in Scorpio can make things feel more 'life and death' than they really are, keep this in mind. Mars retrograde isn't a time to force/push/hurry - he will be in forward motion soon enough (just a few more days) and we will go over all of this again from a more powerful position. In the meantime inconjuncts require adjustments on both sides and some learning to live with 'what is' for the time being. There probably isn't a win/win here. If properly managed, inconjuncts are more like - nobody really wins, but nobody has to really lose either.

Today's waning trine - Cancer/Scorpio can help (sharing intimate feelings).

Tomorrow the Moon will oppose that Cappy line-up, so really starting late tonight (with that Mars square) the energies get more challenging. Breathe.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Tuesday, November 3, 2020 - Mercury stations direct!

The Moon in Gemini (the sign of duality, so information might swing back and forth) inconjuncts the Scorpio Sun then squares a retrograde Neptune at 5:42PM EDT (confusion, be sure to double check paperwork, don't believe everything you hear tonight). With the Moon answering to a stationing Mercury and connecting to Neptune, prayers for a peaceful outcome, divine guidance and fairness will be very powerful.

The waning inconjunct Gemini/Scorpio speaks of the need to address emotional/intense topics - things we don't really want to talk/think about. This will likely connect back to whatever results/endings are coming from last weekend's Full Moon in Taurus.

The BIG news, Mercury stations direct (12:50PM EDT) at 25 degrees Libra (squaring Trump's natal Venus, conjunct Harris's Sun and in Biden's 10th house - last minute campaign efforts to get the vote out can turn things around). Information comes in. People get back to us. Decisions are made. Stories that have been held up since mid-October can begin to move forward (keep in mind it takes Mercury a few days to get back up to speed!).

Relationship imbalances have been weighed out and adjustments have been/will be made. Mercury won't be covering totally new ground for a couple weeks, but headway can be made now and over the next few days.

Take care during Mercury's direct station - remember the moving finger through a candle analogy and what would happen if your finger stops over the flame - that's kind of where we are now, although with Mercury answering to a strong Venus in her home sign, hopefully Mercury's usual cray-cray situations won't be too bad. The Moon will move over Trump's natal Sun, this election being all about him and the news focus will go there. If this upsets you, just turn it off. If you've done your part and voted, you've done what you can and your eyes glued to the telly won't help anyone.

Your prayers might though.

The Moon will be void for most of the day tomorrow making it a good day to chill out.

the astrology of THE UNITED STATES ELECTION 2020 | does this election take us to the first female Vice President (President?) of the United States or does Trump rise from another set of sweaty death bed sheets

Astrology can be a good tool for forecasting. Patterns and archetypes can be studied (what happened last time these planets had these same contacts, what is a person with this energy more likely to do, etc). Seasoned astrologers can make educated guesses that are sometimes uncannily accurate.

But not always. In some ways we are married to the future, but in other ways, since we are co-creating it as we go along via free will - we haven't put a ring on it until after we've put a ring on it.

With a Full Moon on 'anything-can-happen' Uranus on Sunday, Mercury stationing direct on Election Day and confusing Neptune squaring the Nodes of Fate - this is much more likely to be one of those 'not always' times. And with Mercury forming an exact square to Saturn from November 1st through November 8th it looks like the perfect storm for a bitterly contested election process.

And, of course, Trump being Uranus as we come off a Full Moon on Uranus and head into the Age of Aquarius (co-ruled by Uranus and with a stellium of Aqua planets on the U.S. Inauguration Day chart) - he is going to be very hard to beat. I wouldn't count him out no matter what the polls are saying.

Let's see what he's up against.

Biden is a late degree Scorpio; Sun sandwiched between Venus (conjunct ascendant) and Mercury all in his 12th house. I know some people read this Scorpio/12th house combination as 'secrets/hidden maneuverings' and there could be some of this, but what we know for certain, because he is old enough to have a great deal of public history, is great losses/grief/death/illness throughout his life (which is something else a pile up of Scorpio 12th house planets can show us). We know he lost his first wife and daughter in a car accident and later his oldest son to cancer. Should he win he would be coming into the Presidency during a pandemic with a nation dealing with grief, illness and death. His natal Uranus in the 6th house of health and conjunct his DC mirroring the U.S. chart (innovative healing, bridging the country and 'the other'). His mid-heaven is conjunct his natal Pandora. His natal Chiron (wounded healer) is at 29 degrees Leo, conjunct Trump's ascendant/Mars and also conjunct the position of king-maker fixed star Regulus when Biden (and Trump were born). Regulus has since moved from the sign of the king, Leo, into the sign of the servant, Virgo - currently at 0 degrees Virgo (known as the degree of the 'common woman') which is Biden's North Node.

Is Biden's destiny to heal the nation and bridge us from 'the king' to the 'common woman'?

Kamala Harris (the common woman?) has a 27 degree Libra Sun (conjunct Venus, ruler of the United States 10th house on Election Day in the sign of partnership and women). Her natal Jupiter is exactly conjunct Trump's midheaven and conjunct the U.S. natal Wuhan/Pandora conjunction. Her natal Pandora (a stand-in for both the pandemic and the first human woman) is at 0 degrees Cancer in her first house. 0 degrees Cancer is the degree of last summer's final Eclipse. Transiting Pandora will be exactly conjunct her natal Pluto on Election Day (and opposing her natal Chiron). Her natal Pluto is sandwiched between her natal Uranus and Venus. She has a 21 degree Mars in Leo (3rd house conjunct asteroid Nemesis) and conjunct Trump's 12th house Mars. She is a Gemini rising with her North Node/Ascendant conjunction conjunct the transiting North Node and Trump's natal North Node/Sun/Uranus conjunction. Her descendant is conjunct Trump's Moon. Her Saturn is conjunct the U.S. natal Moon in Aquarius (the people, so if elected bringing stability for some and restrictions to others depending on their natal Saturn and how they relate to Saturnian limits). Kamala's natal Narcissus at 8 degrees Gemini is scheduled for an exact hit at the first Eclipse of this season - the end of November, but in play now. Keep in mind the United States has a natal 22 Cappy Narcissus - Pluto's position on Election Day and the "red hot"degree of Saturn/Pluto back in January - power being cemented and patriarchy falling (both happening at once), so Narcissus is playing his hand here, too. Kamala's natal Moon is conjunct the Inauguration chart's Moon - so is Biden's natal Moon.

We've talked about Trump's chart many times and I won't rehash it. We've talked about the short and long term transits that can negatively impact his health/career. He doesn't have the same transits he had back in 2016 when he won, but he does have the transiting North Node (destiny) exactly conjunct his natal North Node on Election Day which is BIG. He has a natal Narcissus conjunct the Inauguration day ascendant, again.

Whoever wins will have the massively crisis/opportunity riddled Inauguration Day chart to deal with.

With a 12th house exact Uranus/Mars conjunction squaring the 10th house (leader) Saturn/Jupiter in the January Inauguration chart there is a very real danger to whoever wins this election. This crisis/opportunity applies to the country, too, but keep in mind this applies to the country no matter who wins. Obviously this doesn't mean it doesn't matter who wins, because a different winner will bring his/her own strengths and weaknesses and impact the way this all plays out. But let's just say there are real challenges and opportunities ahead. Fingers won't be snapped and everything falls gently into place here.

The Uranus/Mars conjunction speaks not only of the possibility for chaos and violence on Inauguration Day (and if Biden wins, surely the event will be virtual a Uranian event in that sense), but also for INSPIRED/Future Focused ACTION (and in the 12th house innovative healing initiatives) for the term of the President's service.

With the 12th house ruling endings and Trump's natal Mars/Ascendant and Uranus/Sun/North Node - it seems likely this would indicate his time as leader comes to an end.

If he does win almost certainly he is weakened or significantly changed with this chart.

Not to be morbid, but if Trump were to win and something were to happen to Trump during his term (a second impeachment/illness, etc) or even during this current term before it expires, Vice President Pence - birth time unknown - has a 27 degree Chiron (wounded healer) in Aquarius exactly conjunct the U.S. natal Moon (the people). He could step up as a healer. His Mercury is also exactly conjunct the U.S. Mars and conjunct his Sun. He kind of blends into the background to me, kind of like faded wallpaper, but his chart actually says that he doesn't. Although without a birth time to place things into their proper houses it's hard to know just what we are seeing with him.

And, again, not to be morbid, but if Biden wins, this might speak of a transfer of power to Kamala Harris.

The Inauguration chart also has an exact Neptune/Ceres conjunction in Pisces (11th house) squaring the Nodes of Fate! Neptune transits bring confusion/delusion, but on a deeper level they are internal/cosmic upgrades connecting us to more sensitivity/compassion and eventually bringing us to the truths we couldn't previously see. And of course the chart has a quite unpredictable and future-leaning 10th house stellium in AQUARIUS. The Inauguration Day chart is a total 180 from the Election Day chart indicating alot of changes happening between November 3rd and January 20th and we know the astro backs this up!

The United States is a Saturn/Uranus country (natal trine) continually evolving through a back and forth dance between conservatism and liberalism and next year we (the world) have a series of Saturn/Uranus squares as the modern and ancient rulers of Aquarius battle it out.

With Uranus in Gemini on the DC (the unusual 'other' seen as the enemy) of the United States natal chart, Trump/Pence has probably been the perfect combination to usher us into these changing times (Age of Aquarius). Whether or not they have given us/taken from us - everything we are going to work out through them, remains to be seen, maybe even for another couple weeks.

My prediction is - the early returns go Trump's way and he thinks he can pull another rabbit out of his hat. But in the end, and yes, there could be protests and twist and turns, likely legal maneuverings and maybe even violence - the spoils will go to the actual winners; Biden and Harris and then onto Harris.

Because the Goddesses have a dog in this fight, too, and they are rising

(and yes, emergent female leadership includes Amy Coney Barrett - everyone gets a seat this year).

The battle of the Gods is raging. If you know your mythology you might remember how Saturn threw the severed genitals (and it is Scorpio season) of Uranus into the ocean. Well do you remember what happened next? Aphrodite (Venus) rose out of the sea ....

xo all

Venus (ruler of the U.S. natal 10th house, women, partnerships, balance and fairness and that stationing Mercury) squaring Trump's natal Venus and on Harris's SUN on Election Day.

Keep in mind though I thought covid was going to make Trump quite sick and he rose from his sweaty death bed sheets barely missing a beat - which is exactly what 2020 is designed for all of us to do, the rising from the sweaty sheets of fear part, not the 'not missing a beat' part, beats will be missed - so I certainly wouldn't count him out.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Monday, November 2, 2020 - the calm before the storm

The Moon moved into 'busy and communicative' Gemini early this morning (EDT). We are nourished by words, communication, errands (nourished by errands she says, yes, that!), by keeping things light, by making it funny. Stay flexible. Keep your mind open. I have an extremely funny family, many with Gemini Moons - they keep themselves up on the surface of conversations to most easily zing those one-liners. With the Sun in Scorpio and important things going on, this might be annoying, but I think today it is just what everyone needs. She makes a nice trine to Venus (in Libra), who's doing her part to help us smooth things over, making this the best way to handle other people now, too.

Keep things light.

xo all

today's a good day for Americans to text family and friends - "I will love you no matter what tomorrow brings. We don't have to agree with each other to love and support each other". Or something like that, but more funny/clever. Cue the dancing kittens.

Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | November 2nd - November 8th, 2020 - another brick in the wall, mental pressure, thinking things through, the winds shift, changing our mind, alien babies

Twists and turns ahead, with reality checks, battle lines clearly drawn - unless we are smart enough and lucky enough to avoid them (or use a pencil with an eraser). Luckily for us we are blessed with Venus in Libra now - strong and balanced - and with Mercury and Uranus answering to her.

Compromise, cooperation, fairness, being able to see other people's points of views ARE possible.

SUNDAY - Mercury (retrograde) squares Saturn, Venus opposes Chiron

TUESDAY - Mercury stations direct, Pallas inconjunct North Node

FRIDAY - Sun conjunct Juno

SATURDAY - Mercury (directs) squares Saturn, Mars inconjunct the Sun/Juno

With our Halloween Full Moon in Taurus (on Uranus) kicking (or preparing to kick over the next two weeks, think: leg bent, boot on) a MAJOR DOOR closed/open. BOOM! If a door closes, another door opens - it's our job to FIND it. If a door opens, another door closes - it's our job to LEAVE IT SHUT.

This week is all about Mercury - information, news, our thinking, our words and again, Venus, our relationships, our resources/money, balance, fairness. Keep in mind Mercury is in Libra, so we are literally channeling our Venus - what does she need to say THROUGH US? Where is Venus in your natal chart?

How is your Venus best able to handle this week's pressure?

Maybe mark these squares with Saturn as your opportunity to STOP AND THINK. There could be a FINAL and challenging conversation this week. Then we are back to square one with something here. Have faith that new situations are gestating. Pregnant with possibilities - that's us. Even if we are feeling more like we might be carrying one of those alien babies that tears their way out (yikes) and then Ripley has to battle for, what was it, four/five sequels? With that Full Moon on Uranus we can expect the unexpected.

(this relationship stuff/Mercury's Libra-Scorpio degrees are precisely where Venus retrograded two years ago - what was happening in the fall of 2018? what has changed, and yes, I know THAT has changed, but maybe what else?)

SUNDAY - A retrograde Mercury (in partnership/balance/fairness focused Libra) squares "the man" Saturn (home in Cappy for just a few more weeks) at 26 degrees.

We first had this square back at the end of September, so something from that time could be revisited. If you have anything in your natal or progressed chart in the cardinal signs - Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn - near this degree you will probably feel these squares this week (plus Mercury's station) the strongest.

This is MENTAL PRESSURE.

Our communication/ideas/sibling issues/commerce/transportation issues/Libra natal house issue hits the Saturnian wall/rule/limit/authority/responsibility. With Mercury still retrograde this is probably not a new issue. Maybe we've been here before. Heard/said these words before.

Mercury/Saturn is a tongue-tied aspect. We could say the wrong thing now or misinterpret what someone else is saying - keep this in mind. This makes me think we need to know what we are talking about. It makes me think of loose lips sinking ships and tight lips making our heads explode. It makes me think of censorship.

Trouble with authority. Trouble with rules. Trouble pushing our own agenda forward via language. Maybe stop signs involving a lack of credentials.

And remember we are Saturn, too - it could just as easily be a younger person/newer idea wanting to speed past us that we are putting the brakes on. We could be stopping ourselves because we just don't know what the hell to do or say or think. We could hear a "NO" now. We could say "NO" or be the one making a firm decision.

Facts could be delivered that might not be to our liking, but keep in mind this is NOT the final square just yet. Mercury is all about movement - so, are we staying or are we going?

Millions of people are going back into lock-down. Millions of people are heading back to the polls fearing/burdened by what we think we know. Millions of people are at odds via old and imbalanced situations with their partners/authority. This is how the patriarchy ends - and I know that's not what it looks like - it looks like patriarchal power is being cemented. Because that's also happening. This is a planet of polarity. The South Node is in Sagittarius - we are confronting our lack of faith in life, folks. And the way we see/perceive what we believe. We are in grad school now, this isn't easy stuff.

At the same time Venus is opposing wounded masculine Chiron in Aries (and remember from his/her perch in Libra, Mercury is answering to Venus - so is Uranus, Venus is very powerful right now) opposing wounded masculine Chiron in Aries. This pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps is getting old. Plus who has bootstraps anymore? Relationship, financial, self-esteem issues are triggering older woundings/fears that we are probably only unconsciously aware of. We might feel all alone/unlovable. Or there is not enough money. Or maybe no matter how hard we try to be fair or cooperative there is still this HURT. Hopefully we are finding those supportive relationships - or allowing what we have to be more supportive - there is something here about the space we speak to in others being the space that responds/replies/reacts to us. Shoot for high ground/speak to their high heart. Hopefully well-timed financial resources come in, too. Is that possible? YES. More likely than unlikely I think. Venus is our most benevolent/beneficial energy and she is impacting multiple other energies/multiple spaces of our chart/our life! Hang in there. This is a process and she has multiple squares to Mars ahead of her yet.

TUESDAY - At 12:49PM EDT, Mercury stations direct in Libra. A CHANGE of direction. What was heading that way is now heading this way. Our thinking can change. Our health can change. Our day-to-day situation/habits can change. Our relationships/other people can change. Mercury is conjunct asteroid Haumea (Hawaiian fertility Goddess - what is needing to be born through this change of direction?). In a way, with this week-long square to Saturn - this is us moving past the frustration/tension, but today can be cray-cray.

At the same time Pallas in inconjunct the North Node. Rocks and hard places. Making practical adjustments (maybe to authority, to rules/limits)  to get where we want to be. Keep in Mind Mercury is the ruler of the North Node, so this is likely all the same thing as his station. Adjust. Small steps. Keep things light/local. Pallas is in traditional Cappy, what worked last time?

Venus is inconjunct Uranus. Breakdowns/breakthroughs/breakups in relationships/finances. Changes creating imbalances. Disorder/chaos interrupting the fairness of some situation. Keep in mind inconjuncts are rocks and hard places. There are no real winners, but they don't have to be lose/lose either - adjust both sides. Keep moving.

Mercury tends to be confusing/mayhem-producing (even sometimes dangerous) at station - he is the trickster after all. The last time the U.S. election had a stationing Mercury was in 2000. We went to bed (here on the east coast) thinking Gore had won, woke up to a contest too close to call. Weeks later the Supreme Court ended the Florida recount and the state of Florida - governed by the brother of the winning candidate - declared George W Bush the winner (a continued, although unofficial recount later showed Gore had actually won Florida). The Moon will be in Gemini passing over Trump's North Node, Sun and Uranus and Harris's North Node, Ascendant. She will square foggy and confusing Neptune around dinnertime. It's almost certain we won't have a clear answer right away or that we come to the wrong conclusion first.

FRIDAY - So now Mercury is back squaring Saturn - this is in play all week - but, Mercury is direct now. The final/final. What do we know that we know. There could be a breakthrough here. Or maybe our authority is challenged. Or maybe we face a difficult limiting choice. Take your time with important decisions now. Think things through. One door closes for another door to open and the Full Moon spoke of us being more liable to notice what is ending.

SATURDAY - the Sun meets Juno at 16 degrees Scorpio. 3rd Quarter Moon in Leo.

With the Sun in Scorpio (deep/intense) and the Moon in "let's make something/go have fun" Leo - the square is likely to be about lightening up, letting go of our need to control the situation. With the Sun meeting Juno at the same time this can be about partnership transformations. Getting to the bottom of things. Intense conversations. Intimacy. In Scorpio, Juno can raise issues of abandonment, infidelity, inequality or lack of commitment. She starts a new solar cycle in this intimate/transformative sign and can show us the way to move toward a new kind of relationship - one based on mutual respect and on continual renewal. This can also be about a completion/ending.

There's some other stuff we'll talk about in the dailies.

Keep in mind there will be some havoc before we reach the mid-late November light at the end of the tunnel. Make some room in your schedule. Take care of yourself. Get enough rest/water. Ask yourself, "what would someone who loves themselves do in this situation?".

Do that.

Today's Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Friday, October 30, 2020 - preparing for the emergence of something powerfully disruptive

The big story today is the Moon. In Aries we are nurtured by taking action, doing something physical, moving our bodies - she squares Pluto, then Saturn and finally goes void off an opposition to a retrograde Mercury at 12:12PM EDT. She's void until 5:18PM EDT. We talked a bit about this last night.

These squares can be STRESSFUL. And again all this cardinal energy (wanting to start) with a retrograde Mars and Mercury (needing to stop) - making maybe people antsy. These Cappy squares can be depressing because we are literally being depressed, and if we are sitting still, literally SQUASHED.

So move your body. Change your immediate environment around. Give yourself some time alone or do something different if time alone is your standard these days. That will help. Know there is a door/escape hatch out of this mess for all of us, no matter how deeply in the mud/weeds we find ourselves. It's COMING.

That Mercury square looks like an old ARGUMENT. Mercury is in Libra, so we have the ability to be kind/fair here (not an asshole), but we are going to have to reach for it. Use the void Moon this afternoon to chill out/cool off.

Tonight the Moon will be in Taurus; the sign of her EXALTATION. Think comfort. Plan ahead - give yourself the time/space to take care of yourself. Get yourself some ice cream. Know the Moon will meet up with Black Moon Lilith (recently moved into Taurus herself), so if you feel like ripping someone's head off or doing anything you need to not do, know BML is active within you, asking you to let her out (LIBERATION!) - which is something we will need to do without ripping anyone's head off or tearing out the shrubbery.

Take care of yourself today. You are preparing for the emergence of something powerfully disruptive. And now that you KNOW that - what will you do with this information?

Last night's part II of the Full Moon post was a re-write because I lost the first copy as Blogger was acting up and still is. I am going to add some info to each of the sign's today, so it could be worth a re-read tonight.

FULL MOON IN TAURUS | OCToBER 31, 2020 - part II - what's going out with a bang? through the signs

We dug into the FULL MOON chart in Part I HERE

Let's back up a bit.

The Moon is void on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 12:12PM EDT until 5:19PM EDT. She has gone void (from her perch in Aries) off an opposition to a retrograde Mercury in Libra. This speaks of a disagreement between us and another person, maybe about an old issue. We've heard this/read this/said this/thought this before. So, there's this kind of tense/frustrating/antsy/maybe angry (imbalanced) news or information and then the Moon goes void. Whether we stew in it or not is up to us - Aries is usually more of a 'shake it off' kind of Moon.

By Friday night (5:19 PM EDT) the Moon has moved into Taurus - a sign she loves. She meets up with Black Moon Lilith (our rebellious feminine energy) at 1 degree, so there is maybe something here about what we have hidden/swallowed to stay safe/stable, maybe to have a roof over our head and food on our table. Our emotions can be primal/instinctive. BML is the motivation within us that we expect to be punished for/abandoned if we use it. The stuff we see happening in the world is also happening in our own homes and our own bodies.

It's not until 10:49AM EDT on Saturday morning that the Moon makes her next aspect. She opposes the Scorpio Sun (Full Moon) and then just five minutes later, she meets up with Uranus. We can expect the unexpected here (not totally unexpected), surprising results, unintended consequences, accidents are possible, so stay focused.

With the Full Moon bringing things to a conclusion - something could go out with a BANG.

Uranus is retrograde, so this isn't totally new/new, we can have seen this coming and this can also be US making some kind of unpredictable/liberating change. Full Moons are the best times to end stagnant situations as long as we realize this is going to be EMOTIONAL.

Collectively this will be about our money, our resources, our self-esteem, our sense of security, the skills/abilities we take for granted, something that brings us comfort.

The changes could focus us on what we are losing.

Whatever comes to light/whatever concludes could feel de-stabilizing, even if that is the whole point of the thing (coming unstuck because, well, this is Taurus, fixed earth aka mud!) - keep this in mind.

After opposing the Sun and moving across Uranus, the Moon is going to sextile Neptune, then trine the Cappy planets (remember on Friday she squares them, so now we get the smooth trines AFTER the change/unexpected) - Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn. All positive aspects and her final aspect is that trine to stable Saturn. This tells us the Full Moon surprise/disruption/culmination that will play out over the next couple weeks is stabilizing in the end, supportive in the long term. Patience may be required to get to the good stuff, but it's out there.

If you have something that needs to end/that you need to stop doing - this is a powerful time to end it. If we don't make needed changes, or if we go off impulsively and do something totally destructive - that rocks our stability - we could come to regret our inaction/action in a couple weeks.

I don't usually do a "by sign" - because we can get a better feel, I think, by looking at the collective influence and I'm always afraid people will skip ahead to their sign, which they may or may not connect with, and miss the big-picture stuff which they almost certainly will. But here goes, let's take a quick peek, check your Sun and your rising and if you know the exact house for 8-9 degrees Taurus - this may or may not line up with your rising sign - find that house number and read that, too.

ARIES | Aries Rising (this is also a collective forecast) - the Full Moon is happening in your 2nd house of your money, your values, your resources and self-esteem. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. This is about a change in the way you make/use money, the things you hold onto, what you value. Mars is retrograde in your sign - you are changing and the things you want/the way you go about getting them is changing, too. The ruler of this lunation is in your opposite sign of partnership. Have you been overvaluing/undervaluing yourself? More win/win less me-first.

TAURUS | Taurus Rising - This is YOUR Full Moon Taurus and happening in your 1st house of yourself. Something about your physical self, maybe your habits, your stability is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this (could be through a relationship/partner), but it is ultimately liberating. Happening in your sign, this is another wake-up call for you. What is coming to light about yourself? What are you discovering? This can be a crisis or an opportunity. Your journey is changing and you are the one changing it.

GEMINI | Gemini Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your your 12th house of what is hidden or put away or done behind the scenes, secrets, the ethereal realms, imagination, hospitals, spirituality, addiction, healing. Maybe something you have been avoiding looking at or just suspected comes out and brings an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. Keep in mind with Uranus in your 12th house for the last couple and next couple years - you are moving through a lot of unfinished business, your self-sabotaging crap is coming up, you are learning how to end things with integrity.

CANCER | Cancer Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your your 11th house of the collective - your friendships, your tribe, groups, causes, the internet, the public, the goals that bring you into relationship with other people, your advancement, technology. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT maybe bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. Why do you associate with the groups/people you do? Does something here need to change?

LEO | Leo Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your 10th house of your career, your calling, your achievements, your achievement, goals, dad, business, authority, responsibility. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. An opportunity to really get how much you are worth and what you really value is coming.

VIRGO | Virgo Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your 9th house of travel, higher education, weddings, politics, legal issues, the media, publishing, foreigners, everything outside your comfort zone, exploration, your beliefs and higher thinking. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. Maybe you think you know something and you find some holes in your thinking/your beliefs. This is a transformation around what you think is possible for you.

LIBRA | Libra Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your 8th house of other people's resources, other people's values, intimacy, other people's money, spouse's income, loans, debts, taxes, inheritance, death, rebirth, sex, reproduction. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT (maybe through something you haven't wanted to look at) bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. You have Venus - ruler of this Moon - and Mercury in your sign, so unexpected events have a greater impact. What is out of balance here? What are you doing about your debts? Who has done something for you and you owe them something?

SCORPIO | Scorpio Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your 7th house of partners and partnerships. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT (relationship turning point, partner's action) bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. Keep in mind your partner is going through big changes, most of which you are a major catalyst for. They are mirroring your own need for freedom/liberation.You can get married or break apart. Your partner can offer you something or take something away.

SAGITTARIUS | Sag Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your 6th house of your day-to-day activities, your routine, work, co-workers, pets and your health. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. Stop doing what is draining you. have you taken on too much? You are about to find out. Take care of your health Sag!

CAPRICORN | Capricorn Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your 5th house of creative projects, your self-expression, what you give birth to, children, romance and recreation. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. Saturn is past Pluto in your sign (past the death), but leaves your sign for 28 years in just a few weeks, so if you need to get moving with some goal you best get on it - especially after the Scorpio New Moon in 2 weeks.

AQUARIUS | Aqua Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your 4th house of home, family, your roots, mother, mothering, your ancestry, real estate, renovation or a home business. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. More changes on the home front for you my dear. But we know that's really where your heart is anyway!

PISCES | Pisces Rising - the Full Moon is happening in your 3rd house of communication, information, writing, siblings, transportation or your local neighborhood. Unexpected news, fast decisions/answers. Something here is subject to an unexpected (although not totally unexpected) JOLT bringing something out into the light or to a disruption/conclusion. The change will be either self initiated or outside events conspire to force this, but it is ultimately liberating. If news of a new opportunity hits be ready to grab onto it.

Keep in mind every ending is also a beginning and in just two weeks we will have a New Moon in powerful Scorpio with both Mercury and Mars direct!

Back with one final Full Moon post where we'll look at the U.S. election and factor in next month's Eclipse!

What to expect of the FULL MOON IN TAURUS | Saturday, October 31, 2020 - part I - surprising results, liberating situations, limits and rules, how do we see what we've never seen before, the divine feminine rising, the virus

On Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 10:05AM EDT the Taurus Moon opposes the Scorpio Sun (at 8 degrees) giving us October's second Full Moon and only Full Moon in Taurus.

The Moon, at 8 degrees, is exactly conjunct change-maker Uranus (retrograde).

So, we have a spooky Halloween Full Moon focused on the very "unspooky" sign of Taurus instead of the usual Scorpio spook - even Halloween is doing its own thing in 2020!

Taurus is ruled by Venus and rules our collective second house - our money, our values, our self-esteem, our security and our comfort. She rules our resources and represents Mother Earth. Taurus energy is nurturing/sensual - the Moon is exalted here - it brings us back to ourselves. The shadow of Taurus - the negative of any sign is always the positives taken too far - is our fear based thinking when our security is threatened (real or imagined) focusing us on all the reasons something we want to do won't work or all the reasons we can't have what we want. Taurus energy can be stubborn (like the bull) or passive (like the cow). In Taurus we either own it (whatever "it" is) or it doesn't belong to us.

Like all Full Moons, this is a Sun/Moon opposition. The Sun is in deep, dark, transformative Scorpio and the Moon is in earthy, grounded Taurus. Full Moons brings conclusions/results. They are culminations, peak power, endings - they are the moment in our breath when our lungs are full just a second before we begin to exhale.

Let's unpack the chart!

We have the Moon at 8 degrees Taurus exactly conjunct Uranus (also asteroid Triumpf who we will use as a stand-in/significator for Trump, but we'll get to that in the third election post) and opposing the Sun at 8 degrees Scorpio. Venus rules Taurus and so is the ruler of this lunation. She is strong in her home sign of Libra, exactly conjunct asteroid Magdelana and opposing Chiron. Mercury, retrograde in Libra and also answering to Venus is exactly squaring Saturn who is exactly conjunct asteroid Wuhan (who seems to be one of the very accurate stand-in/significators for the virus).

Narcissus at 26 Virgo is exactly trining (brakes off) Saturn and Wuhan and inconjunct Mercury (asteroid Narcissus is one reason for the destruction the virus/our response to the virus has caused particularly in the U.S., being at 22 Cappy in the U.S. natal chart which Saturn/Pluto decimated in January - also I noticed last week that former President Obama has Narcissus at 27 Cappy, which is the degree of the U.S. natal Pluto (!) - Pluto's return to its signing of the Declaration of Independence position is THE real story we are living through here in the U.S).

I didn't toss our usual cast of characters into this one, trying to keep it as simple as possible. We are going to unpack this through contacts to the Moon and Venus (ruler of the lunation) rather than treat it as a full event chart. You will see why when we get to the U.S. election posts - sorry to be so U.S.-centric, but I think this will apply universally, too!

Now, the Moon meets Uranus every month as it moves through Taurus, but not while the Sun is exactly opposing. The Sun opposite Uranus is a big deal annual transit (of change and uncertainty/a need for greater freedom, surprises that create uncertainty/instability although they are ultimately liberating) - it can bring unexpected events/conclusions and closes out and begins a Uranus solar cycle - happening at the time of a Full Moon will give this aspect an even greater impact!

If you have planets/points near 8 degrees of the fixed signs you will especially be feeling this one!

Uranus is retrograde, so this "unexpected" situation/event will not be so unexpected. Unless our eyes are covered as tightly as our mouths and noses right now - we should be able to see this coming. So on the one hand it will come out of nowhere and on the other hand it won't.

And, remember, this is the Moon's event - a lunar event, so even though there is an opposition, Uranus is conjunct the Moon. The unexpected is coming through our Taurus natal house theme, so we somehow need the liberation/the chaos and something comes to light/or concludes that makes that happen. There is something here about moving away from "what can I/what do I OWN" toward something else. I hope I am making sense here. Of course, if you are a Scorpio rising with Taurus in your 7th house of other people - this unexpected/not totally unexpected change will come through someone else - a partner/another person (although they will really just be mirroring our own need for liberation).

We'll go through all the signs in Part II!

Venus is exactly conjunct asteroid Magdalena who keeps coming up for me in charts lately, so let's take a look at her. I've found Magdelana on the angles of charts of people in my family who are more traditionally religious/Catholic. In the days leading up to the Full Moon - with the Moon's ruler Venus at the beginning of Libra (with Magdelana) and Mercury retrograding through the back end and bookending the sign of our relationships - the Catholic Pope made a statement approving of/endorsing same-sex civil union. Which would normally be a huge thing, and obviously is for some people and will be for everyone, but seemed to be quickly lost in the nanosecond news cycle.

(I remember Magdelana was hanging out with Uranus, back when Uranus was squaring Pluto in the summer of 2012 - remember 2012? I think you do! That was also during a Full Moon.

I'd gone looking for indicators of the major timeline shift I was feeling, but couldn't figure out what the hell any of it meant, and yes, I still haven't - ack! - and found her sitting with Uranus as scientists at Cerns were announcing a discovery they thought was their Higgs-Boson, missing "God particle".

At the time I was thinking about the divine feminine energy rising and if you think about Magdelana as a probable stand-in/significator for Mary Magdalene and the way her real story has been manipulated during the Age of Pisces (deceit) and the missing "God" as the missing feminine, it could be one piece of a very large and complicated puzzle.

She was discovered and synchronistically named by astronomers in Nice, France during the 1891 Pluto/Neptune conjunction in Gemini - with the North Node in Gemini, too, as it is now. At that time, and keep in mind the importance of discovery charts, Asteroid Magdelana was exactly conjunct Ceres (19 degrees Aquarius), closely conjunct Juno and the Cancer Sun was situated tightly between Venus and Black Moon Lilith and Pandora was opposing Pallas, so all the ladies were active/animated/chatting it up.)

If we see Magdalena as a divine feminine energy relegated to "whore" status (Gnostic texts name Mary Magdelene as an Apostle and it was not the gospels that called her a prostitute, but a Pope in 591 who confused Mary of Magdalene with Mary of Bethany, Mary of Bethany was mentioned in Luke 10:39 as a sinful woman who anoints Christ's feet and then history somehow took on a life of its own and made the wrong Mary the fallen woman) we might see her merger with feminine Goddess Venus at this time as speaking of something of the divine feminine previously unacknowledged/shut out as unholy/unseen.

That something feels invisible because we haven’t been accustomed to seeing it doesn't mean it isn't there. And this kind of brings us back to Uranus - our higher mind and carrier of our long-term memory/past-life trauma that we don't consciously know we know, but we are still reacting to it.

Our brains are literally made to see what we are used to seeing. I remember once reading about a horrible animal experiment where shortly after birth a litter of kittens were placed in a room where they could only see horizontal (or was it vertical?) lines for many months and when they were finally brought into a normal room they kept bumping into vertical things because they literally couldn't see them. And they couldn't see them for the rest of their lives!

The Age of Aquarius is bringing us into a quantum field - where we've probably always been, but now we are without the fantasy of the Age of Pisces, so it is probably more real even as life feels less real! We will eventually come to understand we are perceiving what we choose to perceive or else we will remain in a world of what seems to us like chaos because chaos (and Uranus/Aquarius) represents this range of possibility that was once invisible to us. Does this make sense?

So, we've got the ruler of this Full Moon, Venus, strong in her home sign and conjunct asteroid Magdelana. Merged. And we've got Mercury (information, communication) answering to Venus in Libra - so pulling in other people/our relationships/justice/fairness and squaring sober/authoritarian Saturn and Wuhan (exactly) and the other Cappy energies, too. So whatever change this Uranian Full Moon is bringing us - this might be something we don't really want to do/have to deal with. There could be challenging news/negative thinking. With Mercury square Saturn during a Uranus activation - there could be revolt/protests. There might be a connection to the virus or the ramifications/official responses to the virus. Venus is opposing Chiron - this is applying, so maybe the need for change or whatever this change is triggers old wounds/memories that we aren't safe/can't take care of ourselves/need to stand up for ourselves. There are some indicators, and we'll talk about them in the next post, that we could regret later changes we don't make now and over the next couple weeks.

Uranus, merged with the Full Moon on Halloween, is the higher octave of Mercury; our higher mind. Co-ruler of Aquarius (with Saturn - and we have multiple Saturn/Uranus squares in 2021 for them to fight this New World rulership out); Uranus represents the future, change, technology.

In Evolutionary Astrology (and the work of Jeffrey Wolf Green), and I see the truth of this again and again in charts, Uranus in our natal chart is a trauma signature. So, Uranus in Taurus until 2026 might bring up fear/feelings of a loss of security/loss of resources. A subconscious terror of being reduced to survival-mode (see how fast hoarding impulses with Taurean ruled food kicked in last winter/spring) - and then we create exactly the thing we are fearing by putting ourselves into survival mode - making ourselves smaller/less intimate with others/building a wall around ourselves and shutting ourselves off from NEW possibilities which is what Uranus is all about, too!

That's just what we don't want to do (and I know it sounds like what we are being told to do to stay safe!). Over the course of 2020 it has become increasingly evident that, whatever's really going on, our perception of it is being manipulated.

Keep in mind the mind-blowing astro for 2020 that we talked about back in January HERE wasn't about a pandemic at all (although this was the date the virus moved countries which is of course the definition of a pandemic).

What I wrote back then was:

"There are two basic ways this could be playing out in our lives and in the collective.

1. limits/rules/authority is transformed - death (Pluto) of tradition/security (Saturn - the patriarchy)
or 2. authority (Saturn) is cemented - because this is happening in Saturn's sign - authority is made more powerful (Pluto)

And we may think we know what is happening, but with so many cycles ending/beginning with these conjunctions it will be hard to know.

What is really happening is we have both of these things going on at the same time."

Tricky times we are living folks, maybe the absolute trickiest - so stay in your magic!

The keys to this Taurus Full Moon will be to keep things simple. There could be a surprising result or something that comes to light that rattles our resources/values/habits/our natal Taurus house theme (next post). Hold on loosely. Movement is needed but too much impulsivity/anger could make us regret changes we make. On the other hand not making needed changes can also bring regret later. Best use of this energy - liberating ourselves from a stagnant/life sucking situation. It's tricky, but you're a smart cookie and will know what to do. Every ending is a beginning and every beginning requires an ending. What we lose/what we gain - in the end this Full Moon and the two weeks that follow - is all about LIBERATION.

By the middle of November both Mercury and Mars will be direct, we will have a New Moon in Scorpio and it will be all systems go!

Back tomorrow night with Part II where we'll look at this Moon by sign and pull in whatever else I missed and then in part III we will look at the ways this Moon and next month's Eclipse which is reaching backward toward this Moon is likely to impact the U.S. election, one hint I think is Kamala Harris's natal Narcissus exactly conjunct the November Eclipse degree, but with Mercury stationing direct on Election Day and this weekend's big Full Moon (both Trump and Harris were born on Full Moons) conjunct "anything-can-happen" Uranus, maybe life is determined to make it anyone's game for as long as possible  ...

Today's Astrology Forecast | Wednesday, October 28, 2020 - taking action, saying it again, encouraging independence, being kind and fair, making an adjustment/bringing something out of the shadows before it comes wandering out on its own and bites us in the ass

The Moon moved into fiery Aries while we slept (EDT) - now we are nurtured through our physical actions, our bodies, our passions, through men, by doing/starting/independence. She can be brave here, but sometimes too hasty. She opposes Venus at 5:32AM EDT (our actions/initiative/impulsiveness conflicting with fairness/beauty/balance maybe), then goes on to conjunct a retrograde Chiron while inconjunct the Scorpio Sun later today.

We are building toward Saturday's BIG Full Moon and today we reach this month's Waxing Inconjunct through the Scorpio Sun/Aries Moon (while the Moon sits with that retrograde Chiron). The Aries Moon is about some action/assertion that needs to happen - even though uncomfortable, it's more uncomfortable to ignore - before the Moon reaches its fullness. With the Sun in Scorpio this could have a Scorpian theme - merged monies, intimacy, obsession, manipulation, compulsion, life/death - or could be something we don't want to look at/confront. The stars say "confront we must" even through the inconjunct speaks of rocks and hard places. Old wounds triggered.

Our best way through this - Mercury retrograde (from 28 degrees Libra - keep in mind we are closing out October with Venus and Mercury bookending Libra - other people, our relationships, our sense of fairness/balance/beauty) is trining Ceres in Aquarius.

We had the first pass of this back at the end of September - multiple aspects this week are pulling us back there - so maybe an old issue needs to be talked about again, re-looked at, revised.

Ceres in Aquarius is dispassionate nurturing/not hover-mothering - we can keep conversations calm, loving but not controlling. We are encouraging independence/smart decisions. Maybe we, or someone else, is moving through challenging 'change-of-life' issues/situations that feel out of our/their control. Aquarius can be friendly because it's not overly attached, so the key here can be to emotionally detach ourselves a little bit and then have the conversation/share the information/listen (the Moon in independent Aries can help, too, just don't be too impulsive or insensitive).

Mercury is in good-natured and balanced Libra, so our words can be kind/fair.

With the Sun/Moon in the Scorpio/Aries inconjunct we might need to be brave, but we don't want to be manipulative/controlling/too defensive. Cooperative/collaborative conversations are favored. Know this isn't a final/final because Mercury is retrograde and the waxing inconjunct is about adjustments more than solutions. Sometimes adjustments are all we get. Sometimes adjustments are all we need.

We have so many planets in cardinal signs right now - wanting to START something AND we have two personal planets retrograde advising us to continue to re-vise/re-think/re-do. We might be antsy, situations can be stressful/frustrating/depressing. We just want to be done with them, but we aren't/can't be yet. Tomorrow the Moon in Aries is going to start squaring those Cappy planets, so will pull us into more challenging energy before the Moon gets into Taurus, where she is EXALTED on Friday evening (EDT).

October has been about a major transformation to restore balance and it still has one last trick up its sleeve ....

Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | October 25th - November 1st, 2020 - a major transformation to restore balance, October goes out with a bang

SUNDAY - Sun conjunct Mercury, Waxing Trine - Pisces|Scorpio

MONDAY - Pallas sextiles Neptune, Mercury sextiles Vesta

TUESDAY - Venus into Libra, Mercury retrograde back into Libra

SATURDAY - Full Moon Taurus conjunct Uranus

SUNDAY - Mercury squares Saturn, Venus opposes Chiron

So, this is a BIG Mercury/Venus week (re-negotiating the ins and outs of our close relationships/partnerships/money and values with multiple aspects taking us back to the end of September) with a jolt of surprising/disruptive Uranus tossed in ... on a Halloween Full Moon which is an unusual second Full Moon in October! Ack!

Remember what October is all about, and we talked about this theme in the Trump/Covid posts and it applies to all of us - this is about a major transformation to restore balance. Keep this in mind as we move through this final week!

SUNDAY - the Sun (at 2 degrees Scorpio) meets Mercury. We are now at the mid-point of this Mercury retrograde season, HERE/what is illuminated now - is what this Mercury retrograde season has been/is about for us. Something important can come to light. Clarity. It may or may not be pleasant - this is Scorpio - but it will be just what we need to know. Pay attention. And, yes, this could have happened yesterday or the day before as the conjunction tightened up. With Mercury retrograde this could bring someone from the past or an old situation to our attention. News comes in. Important and intimate, maybe financially focused conversations.

At the same time the Moon has moved into Pisces and into her monthly waxing trine with the Sun. This month Pisces/Scorpio. So here is support/compassion for the Scorpio message that is delivered. Something may have to be released to get something else. We might have to give up something we have used as an escape. The trine is our most positive aspect in astrology. The brakes come off. And in Pisces - our dreams/our connections/God/life/our higher self/our past lives/our ancestors are helping us.

MONDAY - Pallas at 18 degrees Capricorn sextiles a retrograde Neptune in Pisces. Our practical, measurable plans/work/strategies to establish security/build something real can lead to the manifestation of a dream. With Neptune retrograde this can be an old dream. This is Cappy/Pisces, so we might have to make a sacrifice/give up something to get something else.

At the same time Mercury at 1 degree Scorpio sextiles Vesta in Virgo. We are talking about important things/the things that matter and keep us up at night. Intimate conversations. Financial conversations. Communications/information is opportunistic. Again we are dealing with retrograde energy - this time through Mercury - so maybe we've had this conversation before/heard this information before or are dealing with people/situations from our past.

TUESDAY - After being cramped up in tidy and practical Virgo, Venus finally makes it home to Libra. Venus in Libra is about love and partnership, collaboration and compromise. Venus in Libra is about balance.

This transit (until November 21st) makes Libra Suns and Risings, who are already naturally attractive, even more so - both physically attractive and more able to attract what they want/need. Everyone's Libra house gets more attractive, too (what house was Libra in when you were born? what is the theme of that house? Where is Venus in your natal chart? This area of life gets more attractive, too, as transiting Venus grows stronger in her home sign).

We will be attracted to what we find 'beautiful'. We will be attracted to what we find 'just'. We will be attracted to what we find 'peaceful'. And these are the qualities people will find attractive in us and our work in the world. These are the qualities we'll want to bring to the table (and yes, flowers that would be a good thing to bring to the table now, too) to attract whatever we are wanting to attract now.

The potential for peace increases as we (the collective) move from critic (Virgo) to diplomat (Libra). The potential for people pleasing increases, too, so balance is the key now. Making life too much about the other person is Libra's shadow side. It's easier, or I should say, lazier, to just give in to something to have "harmony" than to work out the win-wins or half-assed win-wins that are sometimes required. We need to honor ourselves as well as the other person. It's simple, but not easy. If we think balance is easy we should stand on one leg for a while!

In Libra, there is power in groups and alliances - but the emphasis (for now) is on the shared human experience of connection rather than on what might emerge later. It's not the time for thinking about how it will all play out, what we are getting or giving. It's just the time for the experience. We come into real harmony when we can see each other clearly. We don't have to always agree with each other. Agreeing isn't step two or even step one hundred and two.

At the same time, Mercury has been retrograding through Scorpio, and now backs into Libra.

This is where we were on September 26th/27th, so maybe something from that time is reactivated. Keep in mind she/he is at the very end of Libra, while Venus is at the very beginning. Now we have Mercury answering to a strong Venus instead of a retrograde Mars.

An old relationship/partnership - romantic or otherwise - can come back around. An offer can be back on the table. We are re-evaluating who wears the pants/signs the checks - is this relationship/partnership/agreement/commitment still fair - is it still working for both parties?

Now, usually Mercury enters Libra while traveling direct. He enters via Virgo - our conversations, ideas and communications have been picked through quite thoroughly by now. We all know where we stand, and where everyone else does. We are tired of talking/bickering about this stuff and are probably craving more pleasant and civil interactions.

This time is different.

He enters via Scorpio (intimacy/depth/maybe not such pleasant conversations) while moving backward.

So, we've been through the hard conversations. We've looked under the hood. We've checked the numbers and seen what adds up and what doesn't. We've merged and we've purged. Maybe something has died. Maybe something has died and been reborn.

Life always, always knows what it's doing, so we are back in Libra now for a reason (because this will be a quick back and forth!). Our words/ideas/conversations need to take 'other people/another person' into consideration now. It's not enough to be 'true' - it needs to be 'kind', too.

We are still covering old ground - we've been here before, but we need to be more polite now. And we won't have to stuff our feelings to do this because Mercury will be answering to Venus, not Mars! We need to listen. If we want our communications to hit their target we need to make the other person feel heard. We cooperate/collaborate. We find common ground.

SATURDAY - Are we ready for the SECOND Full Moon of the month (called a Blue Moon) - this time in Taurus and exactly conjunct anything-can-happen Uranus (and exactly conjunct asteroid Triumf which feels like a good stand-in/significator for Trump, so we'll take a look at that and even how because it is an acronym it is usually listed in all capitals, but I am choosing not to see it and share it that way!) and Uranus is retrograde, so anything can not really happen - whatever this is we've had a preview. We can't say we weren't warned. This Moon is also exactly conjunct the U.S. natal (Sibley chart) Uranus.

This is also the activation date for the November 30th Lunar Eclipse in Gemini that kicks off our holiday eclipse season. Eclipse events often happen exactly one month before the eclipse (or one month after), so we'll talk about that, too. Breakdowns. Breakthroughs. This is a powerful Halloween Moon - one final BLOW OUT to enable this month's theme of a MAJOR TRANSFORMATION TO RESTORE BALANCE.

Whatever comes in/whatever goes out, will - in the end - be liberating. And keep in mind, this isn't always (or ever, but that's another story) about something happening to us. This can be us making an unexpected/maybe sudden change, maybe that finalizes something - BUT a change that makes us more healthy (and we'll talk about this in the Full Moon post) - and this could be physically healthy or financially healthy or mentally or emotionally healthy.

Expect a BIG post. Change can't be stopped folks.

SUNDAY - Here is where a retrograde Mercury, at the end of Libra now, backs into her/his square with Saturn - (this is a repeating aspect and we had this aspect the first time on September 23rd, so again we are back to the end of September with our words/ideas/information/conversations) AND we are going to have this square - tension/frustration - again a third time with Mercury direct on November 6th. Repeating conversations/revising commitments. Reality checks. Our thinking could get a little depressing. We can't have everything we want. Balance/relationships require maturity/responsibility. This is the middle of the three-peat, the space where Mercury is retrograde, so we are re-vising, re-viewing, re-peating, re-investigating now.

On the same day Venus (in Libra) opposes Chiron (in Aries). Us vs me. Together vs alone. This could be all the same thing as the challenging Mercury/Saturn, so maybe the reality check hurts. Maybe we don't get who/what we want. An old/deep wounding around our ability to take care of ourselves/stand up for ourselves/be ourselves is triggered, probably through someone else's words/actions.

This can also show up as regret if we didn't make a change at the Full Moon and now it is too late or if we made a change that is destabilizing and now we are feeling the fear of that. This 'feeling the fear' thing doesn't necessarily mean we made a bad move.

OK, instead of the dailies I think I am going to do the Full Moon by sign and the U.S. election posts. Keep in mind everything we talked about before the Full Moon will be waning/unwinding at the time of the Full Moon, everything we talked about after will be applying/building.

So, October is going to go out with a bang. November is another huge month - Mercury will station direct, Mars will station direct, Venus will start squaring the Cappy energies, Jupiter will meet Pluto for the third time, Eclipse season kicks off. December will be even BIGGER.

(that's OK, we'll sleep when we're dead and the one thing the pandemic has probably taught us is that we are glad we aren't).

Remember to take care of your physical body, Vesta is in Virgo - stay hydrated, get some exercise, get extra rest, clean up your messes, wash your hands.
