the astrology of 2023 | part I - the inner planets - Mercury in 2023, reviewing, revising and remaking the physical structures of our lives, becoming more useful, grounded and stable

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of October 15th - important conversations and mind-changing information, disruption, the rising feminine won't go away, we are re-evaulating what matters, power imbalances, arguments, forgiveness, compassion, if we get through this week without burning any bridges we didn't want to burn we are doing pretty freakin' good plus a peek ahead to later in the month and the change we have been waiting for

*** by ankazhuravleva

MONDAY -Mercury conjuncts Venus (retrograde), Mercury squares Black Moon Lilith
TUESDAY - Sun opposes Eris
WEDNESDAY - Pluto squares Ceres
FRIDAY - Mercury squares Mars and trines Neptune

Lots of Mercury action this week - so expect to be BUSY with lots of conversations, information and ideas. Mercury is good for thinking things through, figuring stuff out and getting organized/getting paperwork done. The squares indicate potentials for tension,  communication problems, misunderstandings, arguments, computer/transportation/sibling/pet issues and also the potential for some NEW information to come in and totally change our thinking about a situation! Remember squares give us something to push against and move us all forward.

This is another challenging and exciting week - stay grounded, keep a cool head.

We spend much of the work week with the Moon in Aquarius so don't let yourself be drawn into other people's drama (we will have enough of our own to work with!). Back up a bit. Also back up your computer. Right now.

On MONDAY the Moon in Capricorn is going to sextile Venus (retrograding through Scorpio) - this creates an opportunity to meld Capricorn (business, goals, authority, responsibilities, structure, paternal issues) and Scorpio (finances, intimacy, reproduction, death, rebirth, sex, other people's money, loans, taxes, inheritances) themes and get things done.

On the same day Mercury will catch up with Venus at 8 degrees Scorpio.

This is when some information could come in or an important conversation could occur regarding our Venus retrograde (love, money, our values, self-esteem) situation.

With Mercury and Venus both also squaring Black Moon Lilith (the no-holds-barred feminine energy) communications/information could be intense and possibly controversial/disruptive. We could be going deeper with something - taking a second look. Venus and Black Moon Lilith squared each other back in mid-September so maybe something from around that time is reactivated. A relationship or financial situation from the past could come back around again. Remember Venus retrograde is getting us in touch with what we really value. We are re-evaluating things. Words can be profound now. We might be going back over old contracts and agreements.

Keep in mind we are heading to a kind of cross-roads with whatever it is we are going through around October 25th-31st when Venus will oppose Uranus bringing sudden changes and unexpected situations. Both planets will be in a Grand Cross with both the North Node (in Leo) and the South Node (in Aquarius) so whatever is going on will have the mark of FATE stamped clearly upon it.

On TUESDAY the Sun (in Libra) is opposing Eris (in Aries). This feels alot like yesterday's Black Moon Lilith energy and whenever we have a week with multiple aspects that kind of feel like the same thing we know it is IMPORTANT. This is more disruptive energy coming to light around power dynamics, the outsider vs insider energy, repressed feminine potential. This will likely play out within partnerships and the themes of our Libra/Aries natal houses.

The Moon goes void at 5:49PM EDT until she moves into Aquarius at midnight turning our focus to our groups, causes, the internet, technology, freedom, original projects, astrology (!) and the ways we work in tandem with other people toward joint goals - for the next couple days. People could be more distracted and detached. Let's give each other a little space.

On WEDNESDAY we have Pluto (in Capricorn) squaring Ceres (in Libra). This feels similar to the October 8th New Moon we talked about HERE. Power imbalances within relationships and with the ways we nurture others, the nurturing we require of others and releasing what has fallen out of season are ripe for transformation. The square speaks of tension/stress and possible extreme weather.

The Moon goes void at midnight until 3:36AM EDT when she moves into dreamy Pisces making us more sensitive and compassionate for the next couple days. The Pisces Moon is the time each month to focus on our imagination, healing, meditating, music, being in or near water. Keep in mind boundaries will be thin. Things could reach natural culmination points. Be aware of your addictive tendencies, any potentials for self-sabotage (and escape hatches) because that stuff tends to get activated during a Pisces Moon. This continues throughout THURSDAY.

On FRIDAY the Moon is void most of the day (8:27AM to 4:20PM EDT) so this is not a good day to start anything new or send anything out into the world we would like 'something to come of'.

Mercury (in Scorpio) is going to square Mars and trine Neptune.

The fixed square will mean no one is going to want to bend and arguments/disagreements are more likely. Mars/Mercury is a restless mind, a fast talker and words have the potential to hit us - and other people - right over the head. We want to be the first to think of something, we want to "win" the conversation - communications are pushy. Words can start wars here so think before you speak. Walk away from any loud mouth idiots. Don't fight with your sibling or neighbor. Did I say back up your computer? Drive safely.

The good news is that trine (brakes off) to Neptune shows us the way through the Mercury/Mars minefield. Trines are easy to miss though - so much easier to see the problem than the solution, right? - so we will have to reach for it.

Neptune says - release your grip, use your intuition, use your imagination, reach for peace, offer forgiveness and compassion. Meditate on it. Pray. Let go and let God.

Back with some dailies and the weekend stuff I didn't finish.

xo all

Think about where we are and how the astrology is playing out through us.

Mars is moving full steam ahead now - flying toward an unknown future in Aquarius. Venus is moving slowly backward, pulling our energy back into ourselves. We are beginning to feel more intuitive, more interested in whatever we are digging our way through, more passionately connected to whatever we have going on now.

This is all playing out through a situation involving something of GREAT VALUE TO US.

Venus retrograding through Scorpio is very, very personal. This is why the collective stories in the news now are greatly triggering all of us.

When Mercury meets Venus on Monday - both in Scorpio - this is IMPORTANT.

Pay attention now.

Information/clarity is delivered.

Venus is still squaring both Mars and Black Moon Lilith, so the information can be challenging as well as exciting. Mars is trying to move forward and Venus is like, hold up there bub, we have something back here to deal with.

Now, next week on Tuesday - and remember you can experience/feel energies as they build and unwind and not always most dramatically when they are exact - but on Tuesday, the Sun is going to ingress into Scorpio, too - joining Mercury and Venus and Jupiter. And when the Sun gets there he will oppose Uranus (shining a light on sudden, unexpected change, liberation, the unexpected) - just like Venus did on September 8th and Mercury did on October 10th. This is three of our four personal planets in the shadow sign of power and life and death (Scorpio) opposing change-maker Uranus (in Taurus) within just a few weeks!

This is why we have been feeling such extreme uncertainty and unsettling change. We are not in Kansas anymore.

The stuff that has been stuffed is coming up to be healed. And the energies are once again bringing us back to mid-May and the relationship energies that came up then and how we dealt with them back then.

And on the 25th we have the Sun connecting to Venus retrograde at 5 degrees Scorpio - in an exact t-square to the points where the North and South Nodes were at the eclipse last July - so mark October 25th on your calendar! We also have a Full Moon in Taurus that day conjunct Uranus retrograde - so opposing the Sun and Venus retrograde! Whah!

THIS is the change we have been waiting for! Are we ready for this? xo again

Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | July 5th, 2021 thru July 11th, 2021 - what our heart wants, the confusion/illusion lifts, reality bites and we bite back, heading home

Did we all survive last week's T-Square with Mars?!

Count fingers/toes/shake around a bit. All there, I hope.

Well, hold on because Venus in Leo is doing the same hokey-pokey this week!

But she's Venus, Goddess of Love (as opposed to Mars, God of War), so there's that.

Last week we had the Mars/Saturn - some pressure/tension between our actions and our obligations/limits. Then we had the Mars/Uranus which can bring on a sudden accident/impulsive changes, but hopefully Saturn's nail in our shoe prevented too wild a move on our part.  If we were hell-bent on some erratic move anyway (and we might have been because that's what squares with Uranus are for) well it's likely our motivations will dictate our outcome. Needing to be appreciated/garner attention is Mars in Leo's jam and bread, but with Uranus ruling group dynamics and the future (the whole "no I in team" thing) too much of the "me, me, me" stuff can lead us down a tricky/sticky path right now. Yet, still our heart must be followed. Life is not for sissies. Just sayin'.

This week we have the Sun sextiling Uranus to smooth things over, Venus following in Mars' footsteps (watch your heart/your benjamins), the final Mercury square Neptune (end of an illusion), a BIG New Moon in family/home oriented Cancer followed by Mercury's own move into Cancer. Lots going on.

Let's unpack the week! The best aspects are right out of the gate.

MONDAY - Sun sextile Uranus, Venus sextile North Node conjunct Juno

TUESDAY - Mercury squares Neptune retrograde (third of three), Venus opposes Saturn retrograde

WEDNESDAY - Venus trines Chiron

THURSDAY - Mercury inconjuncts Pluto retrograde, Venus squares Uranus retrograde

FRIDAY - New Moon in Cancer (18 degrees)

SUNDAY - Mercury enters Cancer

MONDAY - the Sun @ 13 degrees Cancer sextiles Uranus in Taurus, Venus @ 10 degrees Leo trines the South Node in Sag conjunct Juno (and sextiles the North Node in Gemini)

The Sun/Uranus sextile - here is a light on how these changes can work. Change is good. Cancer/Taurus is about comfortable changes in our home/family situation. Or changes with our resources/money/values/self-esteem creating opportunities for our family. This is smooth/easy. The future doesn't have to be some big scary thing. At the same time, Venus is trining the South Node conjunct Juno retrograde (in Sag) and sextiling the North Node. Maybe we are bringing more attention/appreciation/fun to an old relationship/partnership/contract. Maybe we are revising old commitments. Does this still work for you? For who you are now? Keep an eye on that opportunistic sextile to the Gemini North Node - speak up, talk it out, make a plan, dive into the details, stay flexible and open. Whatever this is - something coming or going - it should flow, we won't have to push.

TUESDAY - Mercury @ 23 degrees Gemini squares Neptune, retrograde in Pisces, Venus @ 12 degrees Leo, opposes Saturn

Mercury, finishing up her/his back-and-forth through his own sign of Gemini, reaches his final exact square to imaginative/illusive Neptune. Neptune is retrograde, the tide is out, the rocks at our feet are just rocks at our feet now (as opposed to the HUGE and colorful creatures they appear under water). Their first square was back on May 22nd. Now, the confusion/delusion clears. Now we know what to say/think/choose. Our questions are answered, even if the answers might be a little/or a lot disappointing. No more waffling around with procrastinated choices waiting for clearer skies. The skies are clear. Time to decide.

And yes, I know I have said 'the skies have cleared' before, because they did, a bit at a time, but after today, the SKIES ARE REALLY CLEAR. Like, no clouds in sight kind of clear. If we can't see, our eyes are closed. Tightly scrunched like mine some days, I would suspect.

Happening as Venus opposes Saturn (also retrograde) reinforces the reality check. We might see what we can't have. We might feel old or unappreciated. Oppositions are like Full Moons. They bring culmination points, endings, results. This will likely be more pronounced for people with mid-degree fixed sign planets or points or people with natal Venus/Saturn aspects.

WEDNESDAY - Venus @ 12 degrees Leo trines Chiron in Aries

Love is healing. Loving ourselves is healing. Time with children is healing. Beauty is healing. Peace/balance is healing. Generosity is healing. Courage is healing. Following our heart/standing in our heart space/on our own center stage (the one that sits empty when we hang out in the audience) is HEALING.  This is how we take care of ourselves/be ourselves/stand up for ourselves. This is a good time to offer a healing touch to someone else.

THURSDAY - Venus @ 14 degrees Leo, squares Uranus retrograde, Mercury @ 25 degrees Gemini inconjuncts Pluto in Capricorn

Unexpected relationship/finance/self-esteem situations. Break-ups. Breakthroughs. This is tension/frustration/disruptive. We want freedom, but the opposition to Saturn is reminding us that freedom isn't free. Watch your wallet.

Mars walked his story last week, now Venus has done her job - showing us where we stand with our relationships, our finances, our values and self-esteem. Next week they meet up and start a BRAND NEW STORY! We are pressured to create something new - even within the confines of old relationships/limits/commitments - and it's going to be AMAZING.

Although it won't be what we thought we wanted/what we thought it would be! Remember we are doing something again, but differently. SURPRISE!

At the same time Mercury is inconjunct a retrograde Pluto. This is a rock and a hard place. An adjustment needed and even then no one is going to be totally happy with the outcome. Also keep in mind, Pluto in Cappy (power/authority) is probably not going to do any adjusting, although he is retrograde, so doing some re-vising, re-viewing, which is kind of adjusting I guess. Mercury (our thinking, words, ideas, plans) is going to have to do all the adjusting! This is Gemini/Capricorn. Gemini can't stand that 'nose to the grindstone' kind of thing and Cappy is like "here is the grindstone - be glad you have a damn grindstone, other people just have a grind pebble!". If we hit a stop sign/road block, we are going to need to shift/change - something Mercury in Gemini is perfectly capable of doing. And this is Mercury's last aspect in his home sign - one final adjustment/tweak in our words/idea/plans before he/she (as us) is outta here.

FRIDAY - The Cancer Moon meets the Cancer Sun at 18 degrees giving us this month's New Moon. This is a FRESH START with a home/family situation and our focus turns HERE for the next couple weeks. Expect a BIG post.

SUNDAY - Now Mercury moves into Cancer where he/she will hang his hat until July 27th. We will be feeling what people are saying now. Our own words will be impacting other people emotionally, too.

For the next couple weeks we will be thinking/talking/writing/dealing with Cancerian issues more often - home, family, real estate, renovation, home business, ancestry, the past, mothers, country, safety, security. As well as our personal Cancer natal house theme. We could be more nostalgic.

With Mercury in Cancer we might sometimes need to step back and ask ourselves - "am I feeling the actual situation or am I feeling my thinking about the situation?".

With Mercury in Cancer words come from the gut. Words are taken personally. They can be soothing or they can be painful.

Since Cancer rules both the mother and the baby, Mercury (communication, ideas, thoughts) in Cancer could be a good time to talk (Mercury) about what we need (Cancer), probably not in some whiny/overly needy way though :)

(Trump has his natal Mercury in Cancer and prior to his meeting with North Korea's Kim Jong Un early in his term, said "I just, my touch, my feel, that's what, that's what I do" when asked about his preparation and how he would know if Kim was serious. His infamous verbal word salads aside - this feeling the words is pretty much how Mercury in Cancer communicates.)

First up for Mercury will be a beneficial trine to Jupiter on Monday, July 12th (here's that old gold, we were wondering where we put it!).  Then mid-month Mercury will inconjunct Saturn and square Chiron and finally trine Neptune and oppose Pluto toward the end of the month. When he gets into Leo on July 27th, he will immediately inconjunct Jupiter - not so cushy as his dealings with Jupiter from Cancer on the 12th and then proceed to do everything Venus is doing this week and Mars did last week. And we'll have the Sun in Leo by then doing the same dance (sextile North Node, oppose Saturn, trine Chiron and square Uranus). Thank goodness we will have Venus in Virgo by then bringing us some soothing trines if we can just get ourselves organized!

weekly astrology forecast | May 1st - May 7th, 2023 - Mercury meets the Sun, Pluto stations retrograde, big lunar eclipse in scorpio opposing uranus, clarity, death postponed, fated And surprising endings

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of March 2, 2020 - reality checks, pivot points, backing into a new idea/plan, wanting what we already have, disruptions, surprises, hand wringing and hand washing

https://www.deviantart.com/birdsophieblack/art/Indians-214402991

March is an uber important month this year with major PIVOT POINTS and energetics including the remainder of Mercury retrograde, a big Full Moon in Virgo, oodles of Venus and Uranus aspects, Mars meeting Jupiter on that HOT 22 degrees Cappy bringing us back to mid-January, a powerful Spring Equinox and New Moon in Aries, lots of important information mid-month, Mars meeting Saturn and old man Saturn himself briefly changing signs to give us a spring preview of what we will be building over the next couple years (!).

By the time Mercury comes out of her/his retrograde shadow in April our life will be RADICALLY CHANGED AND REJUVENATED and we will ALL have a better understanding (keeping in mind this is a process and we are kind of in that crack in the book between chapters) of the collective BULLDOZING/REBUILDING ADVENTURE that is life on planet Earth in the year 2020.

In the meantime, March is coming in like a lion - big week this week, folks - and going to go out like a lion, too!

We start the month needing to make some choices/pivots, but still moving through this confusing Mercury retrograde. There are roadblocks and realities that can no longer be ignored, particularly around love, relationships and our money and resources.

Our mistakes, especially mistakes made by avoiding what we knew we needed to do, could be plainly visible now.

The good news - almost as soon as we hit this "limit", life tosses us a lifeline as Venus sextiles Mercury and moves into her home sign of Taurus focusing us on what we already have. Think of Mercury passing her a note (as he backs into Aquarius and out of Pisces) reminding her of a previous conversation/idea/way around/through/over/under this "limit" thing that is liberating/forward leaning.

By the end of this month, there are going to be opportunities with love and money and as early as the end of this week, changes and BIG SURPRISES.

Also at the end of the week the Sun will make his annual meeting with Neptune in Pisces - we are going to need strong boundaries, to wash our hands and to keep those rose-colored glasses in the bedroom drawer. No doubt the corona virus, now called covid-19, will be in the news. This is wonderful energy for art, creativity, spirituality, imagination, illusions and delusions and seeing what is behind us.

Let's unpack the week.

TUESDAY - Venus squares Saturn
WEDNESDAY - Mercury retrograde backs into Aquarius, Venus enters Taurus, Mercury Sextiles Venus
SUNDAY - Sun conjuncts Neptune, Venus conjuncts Uranus

MONDAY - QUARTER MOON (GEMINI/PISCES)

We start the month with the Third Quarter Moon - the Moon in busy, communicative Gemini squaring the Sun in dreamy, escapist and idealistic Pisces. There is tension/frustration/maybe feeling the need to make a choice. Mercury is still retrograde - we just aren't sure. Maybe we want to just drift along with the tides or maybe we are feeling uncomfortably pushed to take action. We had Mercury meeting the Sun a few days ago, illuminating where we stand/giving us some clarity. We don't know everything, but maybe we know enough for now to choose (trusting life will conspire to line up with our choice) or to choose to let it go. The first half of March is a tricky time for planning (if you want to hear God laugh ... you know the rest). Try to go with the flow. If you must choose - go with your best intuition/instinct and trust that life has your back ... because life does.

Keep in mind just as there is more than one thing that got us into whatever mess we are in, there is more than one way out of it.

TUESDAY - VENUS SQUARES SATURN

Venus, in her detriment at the very end of Aries, squares Saturn, strong in his home sign at the very end of Capricorn. With Saturn squares what usually happens is - the reality of the situation can no longer be ignored.

The buck stops here. The sh*t hits the fan.

We see cobwebs in our wallet. Wrinkles on our face. Love/what we want is restricted.

Venus rules our very important relationships, love, money, our resources, beauty, our values and self-esteem. If you are a Taurus or Libra rising (ruled by Venus) or have Venus/Saturn aspects in your natal chart or planets/points near 28 degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) you will probably feel this challenge/tension the strongest.

There is a need to pivot/adjust. Pushing won't work because Saturn won't be pushed.

And after last week's Venus/Pluto square power struggle/facing some financial or intimate truth and yesterday's challenging Quarter Moon demands for action/a decision, this one probably isn't going to feel so good either (sniffle, hold me mommy).

Keep in mind how challenging Venus/Saturn will be for us will depend on the central players' locations and aspects in our natal chart. For example, let's say you have a very strong Venus in your birth chart, well, maybe, she has no problem with Saturn and you pivot smoothly past a little hiccup. On the other hand if you have moved too far off course (Saturn rules fate) that same strong Venus becomes an obstacle; a hindrance rather than a helper - turns a molehill into a mountain - and makes it harder for us to change course.

Squares with Saturn require us to turn the wheel to get around him because he isn't moving!

This is a 90 degree angle. If you are driving your car in a straight line and suddenly make a 90 degree turn, it would be a pretty big change of direction, right?!

You are in Texas headed for Canada and end up in Rhode Island.

This isn't some random thing that is happening to us. We didn't just decide to change course even if it looks like we just decided to change course.

We can't go any further on this path.

The road to Canada is closed.

We are going to Rhode Island.

Saturn is the heavy-handed taskmaster/father time/fate. His squares are necessary course corrections to get us back on track.

This doesn't mean we are never going to get to Canada. But there is something we need to do/get/see/experience in Rhode Island first, so hello Providence!

EXAMPLE  for VIRGO/VIRGO RISING - Venus is in your 8th house of other people's money and resources - your spouse's income, debts, loans, taxes, inheritances - the ways you merge with other people - intimacy, sex, life, death. This is the area of life that is hitting Saturn. The wall, a limit, the reality police, authority - are knocking at THIS door. How might this look? Well, there are as many ways for this to play out as there are Virgos. Maybe your tax refund isn't going to be what you hoped it would be and you need to adjust. Maybe your inheritance isn't and you need to adjust. And remember your inheritance isn't just dollars in the back. Maybe an inherited tendency is what is hitting the wall. Maybe someone else doesn't want what you have to offer. Maybe you are comparing your life to other people's lives and seeing what you are missing (intimacy, resources). Maybe your sex life/sex drive has stopped. Maybe your partner's income is less than it used to be and adjustments must be made to work with the reality of the situation. Maybe some resource you are receiving from someone else has dried up. The ways you feel unappreciated or inadequate are coming to your attention via other people's resources.

Now, keep in mind this transit is a collective transit. You will feel it most strongly, ie more personally, if you have a natal Venus/Saturn aspect or a natal or progressed planet/point near 28 degrees of a cardinal sign.

At the end of March, Venus is going to get opportunities with Saturn and Pluto and Jupiter, but for now we are going to have to deal with some roadblocks/and maybe make some changes we don't feel ready for because we probably aren't. But the Moon is waxing (growing) so we can't just sit on our ass either.

The challenges of the last couple days are coming through our Aries and Gemini houses. What are those themes in your natal chart? Expect challenges and choice points that won't feel like choices, but keep moving.

WEDNESDAY - RETROGRADE MERCURY BACKS INTO AQUARIUS, VENUS MOVES INTO TAURUS, MERCURY SEXTILES VENUS

This day sizzles with two personal planets changing signs and sextiling each other as they do! And keep in mind, Mercury is still retrograde, so like Ginger Rogers in high heels dancing with Fred Astaire she is making this move BACKWARD.

Let's unpack this a little bit.

We start this day with Mercury at the very beginning of Pisces - remember he is retrograde, so moving backward and then Venus, moves into the very beginning of Taurus, and briefly sextiles (opportunity) Mercury - BEFORE Mercury backs into Aquarius. So it's kind of like a high five/fist bump/dapping-thing. They are both like "YES, here we go!" and then Mercury kind of slides a note into Venus's outstretched hand for her to take with her into Taurus (imagine a loving, magical promissory note here, since not much screams "abundance" quite like Pisces/Taurus). The sextile will be strongest felt by people with natal Mercury/Venus aspects and people with planets/points near 0 degrees of Pisces or Taurus, but we will all have access to this.

Venus is now out of her detriment in Aries and off that square to "reality police" Saturn and into her home sign of Taurus. Whew! Venus loves (and rules) Taurus. After her weeks in Aries trying to be a lover and a fighter, she is quite content to settle into herself again.

Taurus suns and rising signs get more attractive (both physically attractive and more able to attract).

Venus in Taurus, particularly when coupled with all this retrograde mud, can help us appreciate what we already have and what is right in front of us.

Taurus is a fixed sign, so things happen slowly. It can take some time for a person who is used to (remember we are hardwired to crave what is familiar) seeing beauty in a lush green lawn, for example, to appreciate the magnificence of a dandelion. If you can't see the beauty in what you already have - look again.

(did you know the word dandelion comes from the Latin "lion's tooth" - dandelions are some of the honey bees earliest food, are reproductive superstars - an energy sorely needed now and have centuries of usages in food, drink and medicine)

The power and real beauty of Venus in Taurus is a deep seeded belief that everything we need is available to us. Either we have it, or we can attract it, if we believe we are worth it. Venus will be in Taurus until April 3rd.

Now, at the same time, Mercury drifting backward through the confusing energy of Pisces, for what seems like forever, is still drifting backward, but now Mercury (our thinking, information, communication) moves into an air sign - the detached and future-focused energy of Aquarius. Yes, it's fixed air, so people are not always flexible like they were in Pisces, but at least we've got some air! This gets a big THUMBS UP.

So, three things happen when Mercury changes signs.

Mercury changes (the conversation changes, our thinking changes, we are more innovative, we can detach emotionally from our thoughts, there is more air in this room so maybe we can breathe easier). The house Mercury exits changes (Pisces house slows/relaxes a tiny bit). The house Mercury enters changes (Aquarius house - gets busy). Mercury will be in Aquarius until March 16th.

Mercury in Aquarius is about clear-headed, dispassionate thinking focused on the future.

Its clarity comes from the space that is generated from detachment. From a change of perspective. We mentally step back a little bit and the pictures in our head get a little clearer, our words a little more sharp.

Maybe we are questioning/re-thinking (Mercury) our groups/friendships/causes now (Aquarius) or turning back to them.

We might be unraveling spiritual messages received while Mercury was in Pisces.

A liberating or out-of-the-box idea/conversation could come back around, too.

Now, Mercury is still retrograde. We are still re-viewing, re-vising, re-thinking. But airy Aquarius - Mercury loves air! - is certainly an improvement over Pisces

(now keep in mind we are going to be back in Pisces in a week, so our time in mental Aquarius will be very brief).

SUNDAY - SUN CONJUNCTS NEPTUNE, VENUS CONJUNCTS URANUS

The Sun, more than halfway through Pisces now - meets Neptune, ruler of Pisces. At the same time we have Venus, home in Taurus now remember, meeting change-maker Uranus as she is about to sextile (opportunity) the North Node - our path forward.

The illumination comes from our Pisces house theme. The shift comes from our Uranus house theme.

With the Sun in Pisces meeting Pisces ruler, our dreams, our illusions/delusions could reach a peak now. Covid-19 will likely be in the news and we are going to have to keep in mind that panic can be more contagious than any virus.

The Sun can shine a light on something that's been in the shadows or maybe a bright spotlight on our best path forward.

With Neptune, things can slip into place or slip through our fingers.

We are going to have to go with the flow here - the less we are trying to frantically control some outcome (because we can't), the better we will feel.

At the same time we have Venus (our love, money, resources, beauty, values, self-esteem) connecting with anything-can-happen/disruptive shocker Uranus in Venus's home sign of stable Taurus.

Conjunctions close out cycles - this time Venus/Uranus - as they begin new ones. So what no longer makes sense/cents, what is no longer valuable or maybe what is no longer valued either ends or HAS TO CHANGE.

New sources of income, new resources, new love/relationship shifts, new ideas about what matters now are activated/triggered.

Expect the unexpected with love and money or your Taurus natal house theme. Situations that bring about sudden realizations about what we really want and value are possible now, too.

EXAMPLE FOR TAURUS/TAURUS/RISING - Venus (your ruling planet) is meeting change-maker Uranus in your 1st house of yourself. Sudden changes with your appearance, your brand, your image are possible. Opposing your 7th house of partners and other people - this could bring an unexpected new relationship or surprise from your partner. At the same time you have the Sun meeting Neptune in your 11th house of friends, groups, your causes, technology, astrology, the goals that bring you into connection with other people, old trauma stories - there is a light being thrown here, but keep in mind everything won't be quite as it seems.

Venus, as us, started the week with a roadblocking/ball-busting square to Saturn and now she meets Uranus - CHANGE, that is yes, disruptive, but also in some way liberating and did I say she is on her way to an opportunistic connection with the North Node (our future) next week!

Remember conjunctions start new stories, so two conjunctions in one day is like a double flashing green light for FRESH START.

Ok- that is a taste of the week ahead.

I get emails from people asking when things are going to "go back to normal" and I totally get this, but we all need to consider that maybe a bigger problem than things changing so fast or feeling so abnormal, is that we keep thinking they "need to go back to normal"!

Remember our North Node in Cancer - you need a home, a nest, a safe place, a sanctuary, an unshakeable belief that your soft, vulnerable underbelly is actually what keeps you from turning entirely into a brittle shell and you don't want to lose it - forget the whole "normal" thing, but make yourself a comfortable inner/outer refuge, take care of yourself - this will make any shaky ground easier to live with now.

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of November 12th - Mars finally out of Aquarius after 6 months, Venus stations direct, Mercury stations retrograde - hold that thought!

The Involvement by 7oretta

OK guys, here we go again. We are moving through our second week of adjustments now as even more energies change course.

This week ALL our personal planets (except the Sun) change signs or directions so we will feel these shifts in our individual lives. Keep in mind some things will continue to be undecided - just like the mid-term election results!

Some situations move forward, others grind to a halt.

These are the important aspects I see for the week:

SUNDAY - Ceres enters Scorpio
THURSDAY - Mars sextiles Uranus and then enters Pisces (after 6 months in Aquarius!!)
FRIDAY -  Venus stations direct (25 Libra), Mercury stations retrograde (through December 7th)
SATURDAY - Mercury squares Neptune

On SUNDAY, Ceres (mother issues, nurturing, the seasonality of our lives, compromise, power sharing, division of resources) dives into Scorpio (death/rebirth, power, loss).

More and more I like thinking of Ceres as the ruler of Taurus (sorry Venus, but you will forever have Libra) - this would make Ceres in Scorpio (Taurus polarity sign) in her detriment now. A planet in its detriment - opposite its home sign - has an extremely narrow focus of expression.

What this stirs up will depend on what house (house's theme) Scorpio rules in your natal chart, but collectively, she will activate Scorpian situations/issues around shared finances, other people's money, taxes, loans, inheritances, shared resources, reproduction, sex, intimacy and death/rebirth.

We could face situations (and something could have hit us like a thunderbolt within the last few days as she opposed Uranus) that make us aware of the ways our own power is limited in any of these areas or the ways we are not as safe as we thought we were. Compromises will be made.

During her transit here we will uncover personal sources of resilience and power. Ceres will be in Scorpio until January 25th.

We start the work week with a serious Capricorn Moon on MONDAY. This is the time to focus on work, responsibilities, getting things done. A good day for career and working with authority figures and stepping into our own authority. Work on goals (especially long-term goals), within limits, do what needs to be done, yada yada.

The Moon will hook up with Pluto at 12:57PM EST - this speaks of intense experiences and passionate/deep emotions. Maybe power struggles with a woman/women or pressure from a woman. Obsession. Manipulation. Taboo stuff. Whatever we have going on - we are feeling it.

On TUESDAY, the Moon has a short void from 10:13AM EST to 10:43AM EST then moves into Aquarius focusing us on  - friendships, the goals that bring us into connection with other people, our future, whatever we are doing on the internet, our groups and causes and new experiences - for the next couple days.

A monkey wrench is tossed into that Capricorn situation - goals/authority/career/responsibility - in the afternoon/evening as the Moon squares Venus and then Uranus, although sometimes Uranian squares will resolve themselves almost as quickly as they appear - maybe they will drag the Venus tension (love/money) away with them!

Aquarius is fixed air and the Moon here wants what she wants, but we need to stay flexible.

The week starts to flip on us by THURSDAY when Mars, planet of initiative and action, FINALLY leaves Aquarius - yes, you can begin to exhale now Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio and Leo - and heads into dreamy Pisces. But first he sextiles (opportunity) Uranus inviting us to try something new and different.

Action Mars is not a happy camper in the drifting Piscean waters, but maybe after six months in Aquarius, where he wasn't happy either - he can at least catch a nap once in a while!

Mars is our masculine energy - he (as us) wants to go out and make things happen. Pisces in where we allow things to happen; we go with the flow. With Mars in Pisces, there is just no way to "force things" - stuff will go or it won't.

Mars (our actions) will be working through our emotional intuition now. We'll need to use our inner guidance and work with divine timing.

Our natal Pisces house - is shaken awake and its theme (where is Pisces in your natal chart?) is activated. We are used to just going with the flow here, so Mars moving in could be just the kick in the a** we need to get moving.

Keep in mind Mars is still Mars even though he is wearing a toga and smoking some of those funny cigarettes Michigan just legalized. He (as us) can still get things done.

The key to working with Mars in Pisces (think spiritual warrrior now) - and he will be here through the end of the year -  is to continue to initiate, continue to take action, continue to move forward, but to avoid pushing.

And we will know we are pushing because whatever we are trying to do won't be working.

Mars in Pisces is also a kind of perfect storm for self-sabotage, so stay moving and AWAKE.

Also on Thursday we have the First Quarter Moon as the Moon (in Aquarius) squares the Scorpio Sun. This is the first tension/challenge to whatever kicked off at the New Moon last week. Maybe Scorpio wants to go all-in and Aquarius wants to step back and detach. When we check to see what the Moon does next for our way through this challenge - we see the Moon moves into a trine with Venus (in Libra) so things will move forward through diplomacy, cooperation, balance, since Venus is retrograde - maybe taking a small step backward. Kindness matters. At 10:58PM EST the Moon will sextile (opportunity) Uranus (in Aries) opening us to change and trying new things. Then the Moon goes void until 11:41PM EST when she moves into Pisces.

This will naturally draw our focus to Piscean themes until Sunday - what is hidden or put away or done behind the scenes, secrets, the ethereal realms, imagination, hospitals, spirituality, addiction, healing, art, illusions and delusions, etc.

On FRIDAY we have the biggest energy shifts of the week as Venus stations direct and Mars stations retrograde on the same day!

Venus stationed retrograde on October 5th and since that time we have been going back and forth over what we want/what we really value. The ways we have been too focused on the things that aren't ours. HERE is a post about the retrograde.

Now Mercury (wait a minute Venus, hold that thought!) stations retrograde - and we know how strong planets are at station - and then immediately squares dreamy, fuzzy Neptune.

Venus's retrograde has made clear to us what we want; what we value. Mars into Pisces is giving us a new way of going about getting it (by allowing!) and Mercury - passed that retrograde hot potato from Venus - is charged with figuring this thing out (ideas, conversations, paperwork, daily actions). Mercury will start with the big-picture and then as she moves back into Scorpio - ironing out the intimate details, looking at the stuff that is under the hood, scrutinizing the numbers - then reversing course and moving over this stuff for a third and final time.

A retrograde Mercury brings the usual re-minders. We are doing the "re's" - re-thinking, re-doing, re-viewing, re-kindling, re-inventing, re-visiting whatever is happening in our Sagittarius/Scorpio houses. Collectively - our beliefs, the big picture, Sag themes like travel, higher education, weddings, politics, legal issues, the media, publishing, foreigners, everything outside your comfort zone, exploration, your beliefs and higher thinking and Scorpio themes such as other people's resources, other people's values, intimacy, other people's money, spouse's income, loans, debts, taxes, inheritance, sex, reproduction, life/death.

All of this pulls us into mid-December and right around the time Venus starts covering brand new territory.

For now, know that Mercury is going to square Neptune at the very start of her/his retrograde at the end of this week. This speaks of the possibility of a lie, an illusion, a delusion - and by this time we have Mars, the Moon and Neptune all in Pisces! Our rose colored glasses will be wearing rose colored glasses. And Mercury, retrograde in Sag is answering to Jupiter strong in his home sign - so everything will feel big and IMPORTANT.

And maybe it is, but maybe it isn't and either way -

the truth/facts will be hard to come by - whether our future is so bright it hurts our eyes or we are seeing the lights from the oncoming train, is hard to say - just know we will be going back over this stuff for a few weeks.

We don't know what we don't know yet, but we will know later. Keep moving, Keep allowing. By mid-week, stop pushing so hard - life has your back. When it's over it's ready to begin. Trust this.

I will write more as we move through the week.

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of October 1st - women not taking any sh*t, compromise needed, words are uber powerful, if you don't want to burn something down better hold your tongue, if you do want to burn something down this would be the time to speak up, secrets spill, possible bad news, get to bed early

toxic city 03 by Art-de-Viant

We start the week with Pluto direct (18 degrees Capricorn) after his five month retrograde (since April 22nd).

He will move forward until April 23, 2019 when, at 23 degrees Capricorn he will again station retrograde

(my besieged 21 degree Capricorn Mercury needed to lie down today upon realizing this (!) since I am getting FIVE passes of Pluto, except with Pluto the lying down could be in a big old wooden box, so I probably shouldn't even joke about this).

Pluto is retrograde for almost half the year - imagine what Scorpio (rising, like me) people could do if their ruling planet wasn't retrograde almost half the year. I imagine how nice it must be to be a Leo rising with your ruling planet (the Sun) never stationing retrograde, but then think about those Gemini and Virgo risings who must feel like they pretty much have to do everything twice! Ugh!

In October, Pluto is going to cross the ecliptic from North to South for the first time since 1770 - Pluto literally returning to the underworld AND at a time when Jupiter (in Scorpio) is answering to him AND when Venus is retrograding through Scorpio and answering to him. Also interesting that Pluto stations direct - in mythology Pluto is the rapist of Persephone (Ceres' daughter) - the same week Venus (ruler of women) stations retrograde - while the United States is embroiled in the Kavanaugh nomination mess.

But first Mercury is going to have a conversation with Pluto this week - likely one we aren't going to like, so let's take a look at the week ahead.

Here are the major aspects I see:

MONDAY  - Mars conjuncts Black Moon Lilith (in Aquarius)
TUESDAY - Mercury (in Libra) squares Pluto (in Capricorn)
FRIDAY - Venus stations retrograde (in Scorpio)
SATURDAY - Mercury opposes Eris
SUNDAY - the Sun conjuncts Ceres (in Libra)

So, this looks like another stressful, intense week for many of us. Remember we are all in this together - we'll get through this.

On MONDAY, the Moon enters Cancer at 2PM EDT ending a more than 24 hour void. In Cancer, we could find our focus turning to home, family, home business, mom, country, yada, yada for the next couple days. We will want to hunker down, maybe even hide out. Everyone will be more sensitive. Keep this in mind.

At 4:29PM EDT, the Cancer Moon sextiles unpredictable Uranus (in Taurus). We want to do something different. A change of pace is required. Opportunity comes from doing something else. At 7:18PM EDT the Moon opposes Saturn. There are limits, responsibilities, emotions get repressed, people become more inflexible.

Todays' big news, Mars (in Aquarius) once again - yes, another repeat - conjuncts Black Moon Lilith (the angry outsider). We last had these two meet on August 10th. This is the uncontrolled masculine and the outsider feminine together. This is the volatility of the male/female power imbalance. Sparks will fly. We might struggle against some kind of domination as we are, once again, reminded of all the ways we don't quite fit in. We are older and wiser than we were on August 10th, but a cotton sheet will still feel like a lead blanket. We might need to run screaming into the woods with this one ....

On TUESDAY, we have the last quarter Moon at 5:45AM EDT, when the Cancer Moon squares the Libra Sun. This is a crisis point in the Moon's monthly cycle. The square to Libra speaks of the need for balance, justice and compromise. This isn't about us giving in or pouring pink paint over a problem, but to work with Libra we do need to acknowledge there are two sides to every story.

At 8:18AM EDT then Moon will trine (brakes off) a seductive Venus (in Scorpio). This is women getting along with other women. This is being social and what we want and what we need coming together. This is that balance we were seeking early this morning, so I guess we get it. It might be subtle though. By 2:48PM EDT the Moon has moved on to a compassionate, imaginative trine with dreamy Neptune. We have a Grand Water Trine going on now making everyone more sensitive, but also more sensitive to each other. Our boundaries are thin. Addictions attract. Escape hatches open.

The big news Tuesday, and this is exact on Tuesday, but in play all week is Mercury's square to a newly direct Pluto. This speaks of powerful conversations/communications. WORDS ARE POWERFUL. We, and other people, can be very persuasive, but equally manipulative (what is the difference exactly? I guess whether we are the one doing the talking or someone else is!). Secrecy. Obsessive thoughts. Paranoia. Jealousy. Possibly bad news comes in. This could be relationship vs career stuff. Our words can be misconstrued. Things could feel like life and death and they might actually be about life and death. Information could be used to gain power over other people now. We might discover something someone in power has done wrong - this could be a big news theme in the collective, too. Secrets get spilled. Some people's motivations will be deeper and darker than we expect - check your motivations before opening your mouth folks! People will be audacious. Yes, audacious.

Stay frosty.

Watch your language, but if you actually want to burn the house (your job, your marriage, etc) down with your mouth this would be the time.

Again this week's themes of "who has the power?", "who is in control?" are in play.

This is good energy for research, investigations, writing a mystery novel (get working on that one, will ya') and getting to the bottom of things.

Then at 10:10PM EDT the Moon moves into her monthly opposition with Pluto - what else can happen?! Best to avoid emotional entanglements. Just stay home and go to bed. But then, of course, because what else,  just a few minutes later the Moon will square Mercury making our minds restless, maybe preoccupied with the past - it could be hard to fall asleep.

OK, so we get to sleep by 8:30PM EDT on Tuesday.

We wake on WEDNESDAY to a Void Moon until she moves into Leo at 5:12PM EDT. Wednesday would not be a good day to start anything new or push anything important out into the world (unless it is your tax return) because nothing will come of it. And if you don't believe this, keep in mind, Obama started his second term - yes, the one Trump has been busy dismantling - on a Void Moon. Void moons are good energy to work on things already in progress - we can often get alot done.

The Moon's move into Leo will turn our focus to Leo themes - children, self-expression, creativity, fun, recreation, romance - for the next couple days.

At 7:29PM EDT the Leo Moon will square Uranus (in Taurus). We will be feeling more impulsive and independent, and so will other people - not such good energy for interacting with others. Expect the unexpected.

OK, so on Wednesday night we go to sleep by 6:30PM EDT.

On THURSDAY the Leo Moon will oppose Mars (in Aquarius, for what seems like forever) at 5:31AM EDT. This could make for a challenging morning.

BUT by 12:19PM EDT the Leo Moon is sextiling (opportunity) the Libra Sun. This last sextile between the Moon and Sun before the New Moon is excellent energy for creativity and collaboration. This is a good time for business and meeting people. Good for romance, activities with children, putting something out there you can be proud of.

Actually if you are pushing something out into the world this week - from now until Venus stations retrograde on Friday at 3:05PM - it is pretty much all systems GO (keeping in mind I can't see your natal).

OK, back later in the week with the rest of that Venus retrograde series and to finish out this week. See Part I about Venus retrograde HERE.

Whatever this Venus retrograde will be about for you - you know it, it is already in play.

Think wine, hot baths and "this too shall pass" this week

weekly astrology forecast | week of may 24th - May 30th, 2021 - a lunar eclipse - a story ends, a door closes, a woman leaves, our beliefs shift, good news comes in, we change our mind, mercury stations retrograde

Buckle up - this is a really BIG week!

We have the first Eclipse of the year - a total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius, Mercury stationing retrograde and an uber active Venus. ALL the personal planets are out of bounds now - Mercury, Venus and Mars. With none of the inner planets abiding by the Sun's rules and the Moon being cut off from the Sun's light - 'anything can happen'.

A timeline shifts. Into the Eclipse spin cycle we go!

Remember what we said about Gemini season - we must stay flexible, light on our feet, expect minds and situations to change - ours just might this week!

WEDNESDAY - Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse

THURSDAY - Venus squares Neptune

SATURDAY - Mercury conjuncts Venus, Mercury stations retrograde

SUNDAY - Venus inconjuncts Pluto retrograde

MAY 26TH - FULL MOON TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE | Sagittarius, 5 degrees

The Sag Moon opposes the Gemini Sun at 5 degrees giving us this month's Full Moon, our annual Full Moon in Sagittarius - happening so near the Moon's nodes makes this one our first eclipse of the year - a total Lunar Eclipse. Like a computer being turned off and on - we get a cosmic rest! This is a releasing eclipse on the South Node - a culmination, an ending, maybe BIG over-the-top results.

A DOOR CLOSES. An old story ends. A woman might leave. Our beliefs can change ... just ...like ... that - SNAP!

Maybe, and almost certainly a yes to this - we LEARN something.

Could be we wake up Thursday morning a totally different person than went to bed on Wednesday night (it's happened to me) or maybe the 'new you' comes two weeks from now with the Solar Eclipse in Gemini or maybe because Eclipses work backward, too - this has all already happened!

(and yes, that's alot of maybes - it's Gemini season this is how life works now)

Expect a BIG post by sign and house!

MAY 27TH - VENUS SQUARES NEPTUNE | Gemini/Pisces, 22 degrees

Venus/Neptune wants the fairy-tale/the happy ending. So maybe this is tension/frustration between what we attract (which might be multiple things with Venus in dualistic Gemini) and 'the dream'. The 'facts' vs the illusion. With Venus in Gemini we might make a choice/decision that looks better than it actually is. Are our expectations too high? Are we in love with 'possibility'? Is this relationship all in our head? Confusing information about money, relationships, our values and self-esteem are possible. Sometimes squares to Neptune can bring endings as things slowly drift off course/fade away. This aspect can bring a certain disconnect from what used to give us joy. We might be disappointed in other people/maybe we think someone has let us down. This is also a time to watch our wallet.

Keep in mind with squares, that although they are considered a 'hard' aspect, not so easy/smooth as a trine or sextile, they actually encourage/show us a kind of 'discontent' that pushes things to change.

MAY 29TH - MERCURY CONJUNCTS VENUS | Gemini, 24 degrees | MERCURY STATIONS RETROGRADE | Gemini, 24 degrees

So now Mercury meets up with lovely Venus - here is "good news", good for social interactions, letting someone know we love them. Peaceful settlements are reached. The fly in the ointment is Mercury immediately stations retrograde, so if this news is so good - why are we now looking backward? Here is an indication that the "news/information/conversation" is subject to revisions. Some things will need to be ironed out via a back and forth. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just keep this in mind. This can also be about an old opportunity/something or someone we once loved coming back around, too.

This can also be about us CHANGING OUR MIND - and we might change it more than once!

MAY 30TH - VENUS INCONJUNCTS PLUTO RETROGRADE | Gemini/Capricorn, 26 degrees

Venus (through us) is a busy girl.

She has been through the hall of mirrors with Neptune, met up with Mercury just before he turned around (hopefully we got some good news) and now she lands between a rock and a hard place with Pluto (in Capricorn).

Venus in Gemini has nothing in common with Pluto in Capricorn. Venus wants to go from this to that in Gemini - flirt/spend some money. She is quick and smart, but doesn't like a narrow agenda. Pluto in Cappy is all business/power. Capricorn just pulls up his bootstraps/puts on a stiff upper lip and doesn't understand Gemini's loss of motivation/interest/inability to settle down. This aspect might show up as an intractable issue with authority. A need to take something more seriously than we want to. Love can be controlling. We might try to control someone via a demand for attention. Money can come with strings attached. Manipulations. Maybe the question is how do we get more freedom/variety and still be able to reach our goals/pay our bills? As always with the inconjunct some give and take is needed along with the knowledge there isn't a quick fix here.

Back with the Eclipse post - hold on loosely!

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of July 22, 2019 - the pressure starts to ease up, we all get a little more shiny, another look at that home/family/real estate situation, fortune favors the bold

https://www.deviantart.com/monsterdonut/art/Those-Moments-101736012

Eclipse season continues (until the New Moon in Leo at the end of the month) BUT unless your chart is directly challenged, the dust starts to settle now. Hang in there folks, August (and easier energies for most people) is coming.

We should feel the pressure start to ease up as the Sun and Venus move into generous and big-hearted Leo. This week offers some fresh, fiery energy, some eye-openers and lucky and expansive opportunities if we are willing to work for them, wait for them AND play by the rules!

Heads up there could be some challenges mid-week (we will talk about these in the dailies) as the Moon moves through Aries and early Taurus.

MONDAY - Sun moves home to Leo
WEDNESDAY - Venus conjuncts a retrograde Mercury
THURSDAY - Mars trines a retrograde Jupiter and inconjuncts a retrograde Saturn
SATURDAY - Venus moves into Leo

On MONDAY - the Sun (ruler of Leo) moves into fiery, proud and performance-focused Leo. This offers multiple layers of good news. The Sun (our life force) gets out of the firing range of that Capricorn opposition. He exits lunar ruled Cancer and moves into the sign he rules. In Leo, we focus on what our heart wants, children (our inner child), romance, fun, creative projects - we (and everyone else) want attention. Your Leo house (like the house of your natal Sun) is the space you are meant to SHINE. Prepare to get very shiny.

On WEDNESDAY - Venus meets a retrograde Mercury in Cancer. Mercury is taking another look at that home/family situation/mothering/home business/family business/real estate situation via conversations, information, contracts, etc - when he/she meets up with Venus we toss relationships/money/our self-esteem and values into the mix. What we want and what we are talking/communicating about are working together. This would be a good time for negotiations. Our feelings could be re-kindled for something/someone we used to love/want. It's a good time to give someone a compliment. Offer words of appreciation and love. If you need to make peace with someone, especially over an old family issue that needs to be put to bed - this would be good energy to reach out.

On THURSDAY (and this kind of starts Wednesday night and runs into Friday) - Mars in brave and proud and look-at-me Leo trines (brakes off) lucky Jupiter (retrograde in Sagittarius) and inconjuncts (rock and hard place) Saturn (retrograde in Capricorn).

These planets are all pretty happy in these signs. Saturn rules Capricorn, Jupiter rules Sag and Mars loves Leo. Everyone is functioning as they should be - keep in mind both Jupiter and Saturn are retrograde, so this could be about an old opportunity/old restrictions.

So we are taking action that makes us lucky/expands our reach BUT there are rules that have to be followed at the same time. The rules/limits/authority could mean a delay, extra work or the needfor us to jump through a few hoops to get what we want here. This isn't a stop sign, but it isn't something we can just ignore either. Keep in mind we are playing the long game and want to be building things that are going to last. Mars inconjunct Saturn could also show up as us feeling guilty about our actions or ambitions. This would maybe need to be worked through/taken into consideration, but it's not a stop sign. Also keep in mind - what Mars is doing now with Saturn - adjusting to the rules - he is going to do next week with Pluto in a Plutonian way- adjusting through power struggles or to what is ending/purging/cleaning up the mess.

The trine to expansive/optimistic Jupiter might be the BEST NEWS this week. This is an excellent aspect for success (keep in mind Saturn will require us to play by the rules and live up to our responsibilities).

Good for decisive action/decisions/TAKING A RISK.

On FRIDAY - Venus leaves Cancer (now we just have Mercury reworking that home/family issue) and moves into passionate Leo.

Venus (love, money, values) had been somewhat comfy, although quite restrained, in Cancer for the last few weeks. She prioritized security over all else and this kept her safe, but also a wee bit bored.

Cancer rules the Moon and a Venus/Moon natal opposition is considered the Madonna/Whore complex in a man's chart - so Venus has probably felt like she was living with her mother-in-law!

With her move into Leo she gets to spread her wings a little (maybe a lot, maybe a whole lot and we do, too!).

She leaves her mother-in-law's safe little house with the shuttered windows, central air conditioning, and alarm system where her mother-in-law was paying the rent. What more could Venus want, Cancer asks as Venus heads for the door?

"Quite a bit MORE", Venus answers.

She moves into a noisy apartment on the other side of town with curtain-less windows, a fan that wakes the neighbors when their fan isn't waking her, a deadbolt that doesn't quite latch properly and the rent only gets paid if she pays it.

Standing on her own two feet (and what lovely feet they are - this is Venus we are talking about!), Venus is more confident. She is also more competitive. She has to be to make it on her own (cue Mary Tyler Moore tossing that damn hat).

We will be, too.

So, what does this mean to us? First, our Leo house, hosting the lovely Venus, becomes more attractive. Leo Suns and rising signs are more naturally attractive (ie easy on the eye and able to attract). We attract what we want and need (Venus) through Leo - so by standing out, standing up, being passionate, taking the world by storm - you get the idea.

We could, of course, go overboard with all of this. Leo (ruled by the Sun) doesn't really like others blocking their light. Competition can get ugly. We could become downright diva-like. Being in love with being in love fits here, too.

Wanting to be adored will make being ignored harder to handle.

We are more likely to gamble with our resources (even risk our reputation or relationships) for the next few weeks. We'll look to other influences to see how that will go!

In Leo, Venus wants FUN (she meets all her new neighbors and is invited to all the best parties) and romance (there is surely some renewed passion without her mother-in-law in the next room) and creativity (she has a new apartment to decorate!) and passion.

Our passion and confidence will be what attracts others to us and what we are attracted to in others now.

xo all

It's Eclipse season which is mentally/physically/psychically exhausting - get some extra sleep, rest, hydrate and have some (it's Leo season!) FUN.

A peek at december 2021 and then ahead to 2022 | things fall apart so things can fall together

I might need to pivot away from the weekly/dailies toward more big picture stuff for the rest of the year to get everything covered and so we can start looking at 2022!

For now, let's take a peek at some of the bigger December energies.

The year goes out with a bang folks!

DECEMBER 1st - Neptune stations direct. Good news for Pisces people, especially Pisces risings since Neptune is your chart ruler,  and those with Pisces planets/placements. Neptune has been retrograde in his home sign of Pisces since the end of June. His direct movement will green light creative projects, our imagination, spirituality, charity. Clarity can return, or depending on our Pisces placements, illusion/delusion can grow stronger as Neptune strengthens. The key to working with Neptune direct is to release our grip on whatever is falling away/dissolving and the current will begin to pull us forward.

Since Neptune/Pisces rules viruses we will have to see what happens near this date. He is already still/stationing as I write this on the 26th of November, so we are in the 'confusing' part of the Neptune station.

DECEMBER 4th - Solar Eclipse New Moon in Sagittarius (12 degrees) - our final Eclipse of the last 18 month Sagittarius/Gemini cycle - this one on the South Node. This can bring a culmination/the final word on a matter or be more about the new start the ending ushers in. Much will depend on what we have learned from the last 18 months and how we have applied those lessons. We will talk about this in a BIG post this week.

DECEMBER 18th - Full Moon in Gemini (the Moon at 27 degrees opposes the Sun in Sag) - the Sun conjunct the Galactic Center makes this an important Full Moon - the first we've had in Gemini in 18 months that hasn't been an Eclipse. The Galactic Center - center of our very own Milky Way Galaxy - is our homing signal/portal to other galaxies. So, the Sun here is bringing in new/alien information that is "unknown" - it's not a coincidence the Galactic Center sits in late Sag - a space of hope/optimism/taking some risk because in Sagittarius we can't be "sure"/we deal with wisdom/philosophy rather than facts. We have to go on faith. So, the Sun's light is on this "unknown" data - and people with planets/points near the Galactic Center will be getting 'downloaded' with this as the Moon - because remember the Full Moon is a lunar event - is opposing with the information/facts/details. It is interesting this Full Moon is coming after we finish up the Sag/Gemini Eclipses and have released old beliefs that are no longer working. Here are the seeds of new beliefs - through that Galactic Center activation - even as the Full Moon in Gemini closes out a Gemini story that started last June. This Moon is making nice to the Moon in the U.S. birthchart - so helpful to 'the people' and will be making a semi-sextile to the U.S. natal Pluto, on course for its first return to its natal position on 2/22/22. We will talk about this Full Moon in a BIG post.

DECEMBER 19th - Venus starts her 40 days and 40 night retrograde through Capricorn, stationing retrograde conjunct powerful PLUTO - their exact conjunction is December 11th and they have another meeting on Christmas Day with Venus retrograde. December 19th is also the day Chiron stations direct (retrograde since the middle of July). So, now we are re-assessing what we love/value. In Cappy, no doubt our careers/the work we do. The way we work with and step into our own authority. What we need to feel stable. Keep in mind, Cappy is not fast moving energy, so much of what we are doing now may be about planning/laying foundations. I will write a BIG post about this one.

We want to keep in mind that one month from now - on January 18th - the North Node will move into Taurus and start answering to Venus. This retrograde is helping us get our ducks in a row/get clear on what matters - before the next 18 month Taurus/Scorpio nodal switch.

DECEMBER 24th - Saturn makes his third of three exact squares to Uranus in 2021 - here is the year going out with a BANG. Saturn is direct, Uranus is still retrograde. This one is 11 degrees Aquarius vs Taurus. Again, this is the old vs the new. Responsibilities to the group/status quo vs personal values/liberty. This transit has impacted almost everything that has happened in 2021. Both collectively and personally. And keep in mind this is happening with Venus conjunct Pluto. Finances could be impacted. Expect a BIG post.

Note on January 1st - the year's first aspect - we have the Sun (in Saturn ruled Capricorn) trining (brakes off) Uranus, so something from today could smooth out a bit then as our Cappy house theme, a space we naturally tend to be more traditional/stable/patient is pulled into this square.

DECEMBER 28th - Jupiter enters Pisces! Now our Pisces house is where we are getting lucky. We attract that luck/those opportunities (as always with Jupiter through hope, optimism, faith, taking some risk) through Pisces - our imagination, compassion, intuition, prayer, our ancestors/our past lives. Sometimes with Pisces a sacrifice is required. We will have to watch any tendency to self-sabotage through escapist habits/addictions/self-deception, but, with Jupiter being the ancient ruler of Pisces, we will all benefit from this transit. Also Jupiter gets out from under Saturn's thumb for the first time in two years, and Neptune (Pisces ruler) is direct by now, which will surely help. Note - this is going to be a FAST transit. You might remember, Jupiter dipped his toe into these waters in 2021, so this is actually a second pass through some of these degrees. Jupiter will be in Aries by May and then return to Pisces during his retrograde from October 28, 2022 until December 20th for us to go back and mine the Piscean opportunities we missed the first time through!

2022 - some highlights ...

JANUARY 18th - the Nodes move from Gemini/Sag to Taurus/Scorpio. Expect a BIG post this week. We'll talk about how to prepare and what to expect. This is an 18 month transit. The South Node in Scorpio is our past, but also where we are now. Living with death/rising from our sweaty deathbed sheets. Living through a tremendous transformation. Merged monies/debts/inheritances that are not working/strangling people. Intimacies that have outlived their expiration dates. With Scorpio we have the shadow of control and jealousy and normalizing taking on too much that can fuel greed. Scorpio is complicated. Taurus - answering to Venus - is appointed our North Star (guiding light) and keep in mind, Venus is retrograde when this cycle kicks off, so the past is very much the future at this point.

Taurus North Node means we will be prioritizing our physical bodies/physical senses, quality over quantity, our relationship with nature, valuing simple over complicated, what we already have over what someone else does, our food, resources, money. Mother Earth - Taurus ruled - will have something to say about this transit, too. I am reminded of my grandmother's advice about prioritizing everything that comes between you and the Earth - this will include your shoes, your mattress, the tires on your car. Fixed earth practicality. Valuing ourselves and our physical existence.

NOTE - this is also the day of the Cancer Full Moon opposing the Sun/Pluto conjunct in Cappy, as Uranus stations direct and just hours before the Sun moves into Uranus-ruled Aquarius and crosses that WORLD STARTS UP AGAIN - 0 degrees Aqua from January 2021. Mercury will be retrograde and moving through Aquarius backwards at this point.

Oh my.

FEBRUARY 16TH AND MARCH 6TH - 2022 will have TWO Venus/Mars conjunctions (due to Venus's retrograde). Their first meeting will be in Capricorn and their 2nd meeting with Venus direct will be at 0 degrees Aquarius - the HOT degree from the very end of 2020 when Jupiter met Saturn and the world started up again. Mars is exalted in Capricorn and Venus gets along well with Cappy ruler Saturn, so likes Cappy, too - this is fresh new energy, independence, the future. Looks good.

FEBRUARY 17TH - Jupiter sextiles Uranus - days before the exact Pluto return of the United States, this is good news, too. Out of the blue LUCK. Unexpected expansion. The future is calling. This can be good news for people with planets/points near 11 degrees Taurus and with all the changes they've been through with Uranus, they most decidedly deserve it.

FEBRUARY 22nd - the first exact pass of the United States Pluto return - BIG post coming in early December about this one. Venus and Mars will be conjunct the TIME RUNS OUT Cappy degree of January 2020 (home of U.S. natal Narcissus), the North Node will be EXACT on Algol (malevolent fixed star, post coming about his connection to algorithms ie how are thinking is being controlled) and conjunct Sedna as well as the U.S. natal Wuhan/Pandora conjunction (also Trump's mid-heaven and Kamala Harris's natal Jupiter and Facebook's Jupiter/Algol/Sun 10th house trifecta). The North Node will also be on the degree of November 2021's FIRST Taurus Lunar Eclipse. Lots of the Asteroids will be active.

APRIL 12TH - Jupiter meets up with Neptune in Pisces. Pisces ancient ruler and modern ruler join together in their own sign.  There is a chance for something to go terribly wrong (delusion, addiction, escape) or TERRIBLY RIGHT. We are going to have Saturn squaring the Nodes on this day, too - so big turning points/crossroads. Mars will enter Pisces a couple days later with all this still in play and we'll have a Full Moon in Libra ramping everything up.

APRIL 30TH - New Moon Solar Eclipse 10 degrees Taurus as Pallas enters Taurus. Note - Mercury will station retrograde between these two Eclipses (he will station direct on June 3rd at 26 degrees Taurus - the HOT eclipse, Algol/algorithms, Pandora/Wuhan degree, Sedna). MAY 16TH - Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, 25 degrees Scorpio, opposing Algol, as Ceres enters Cancer - Ceres could be, at least the co-ruler of Taurus one day, so we'll keep an eye on her during the Taurus/Scorpio Eclipses of the next couple years.

JULY 13TH - Full Moon in Capricorn conjunct the still HOT "time runs out" January 2020 degree, 21 Cappy.

JULY 31ST - Uranus meets the North Node, at 18 degrees Taurus and opposes the South Node at 18 degrees Scorpio. BIG CHAOTIC PUSH INTO THE FUTURE. We'll talk about this in a BIG post. We really need to be valuing ourselves here/knowing what matters/have our feet on the ground here. We want to be keyed in to what supports us. To what really matters as we move through 2022. Earthquakes, environmental issues that force change? Or is this when Facebook launches their Meta-verse? Big connections to their chart with this one (plus all the Taurus hot degrees surrounding Algol/algorithms/controlling our thinking). Me thinks (while I still can, sort of), since authority seems more intent on reining in our freedoms than big tech's use of algorithms we had better get some grip here ourselves, before Saturn leaves Aquarius in early 2023.

OCTOBER 30TH - Mars is going to station retrograde in Gemini at 25 degrees (conjunct Kamala Harris's ascendant and Trump's Sun) and move back to 8 degrees and then turn around on January 12th, 2023 and start moving forward. Since he will back and forth across almost the entire sign and activating lots of Eclipse energy from the Gemini/Sag cycle, this is a VERY BIG deal. Why do I keep mentioning Trump here? Isn't he yesterday's news? Well Jupiter (good luck/expansion) is conjunct his North Node (fate) on Election Day 2024 - and Trump's North Node is sandwiched between his Uranus/Sun conjunction (Sun rules his chart) in his 10th house of career. We'll need to keep an eye on him, too, as we move through this BIG year for the United States.

Then we come to the 2022 fall Eclipses, yada, yada, I am getting WAY too far ahead of myself now.

We will unpack all of these in their own posts - starting with this week's BIG Eclipse, Venus's retrograde over "time runs out", the final Saturn/Uranus square on Christmas Eve, Jupiter's journey through Pisces (YAY for this one) and the incredibly CHALLENGING/OPPORTUNISTIC, with an emphasis on opportunistic, mind-bending astrology of 2022.

Because these energies aren't just empowering the future/tech/science (for better or worse) as the patriarchy crashes and burns - these energies are empowering US.

We are also going to talk more about the asteroids. The planets are almost all masculine archetypes. All the asteroids/dwarf planets, mostly feminine energies and truly, truly pregnant with new possibilities - are fragments of culture/our personal stories woven into the strands of our DNA to be activated as they are discovered and synchronistically named. There are thousands of them. Is it any wonder life is more complex than ever?!

We either bust every telescope on the planet - would this work? Probably not - or we learn to flow with the changes of universal consciousness/sometimes chaos.

For the United States one important question is - how do we move into a more equal and humane culture with this myth/dark cloud of American exceptionalism hanging over our heads. Probably we can't, so along comes our Pluto return just in the nick of time. Kaboom. Obama, Trump, Biden, our relationship to "the other"/scapegoats, the virus/our responses and their ramifications disrupting our Capricorn second house perception of who we are, what is valuable/what matters, what goals are important, how we maintain and support ourselves and others.

It's surely time to pivot, personally and collectively, but still tangled in the dead cords of the old world we are unsure what that would look like and what that even means, but if we don't do something different we are going to feel more and more empty. Yet, we think -  because all we remember for lifetimes and lifetimes is this patriarchy/hierarchy of naked emperors that once supported us - is that if we can only get things to be more stable/more like they used to be, we will be ok.

Would it surprise you to learn this would not feel ok even if we got it?

Anyhoo, it's Sagittarius season, I've had way too many sweet potatoes and to quote Helen Keller, "life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all". We are all here together in this experience for a reason, folks. We have to have faith. We have to keep moving. We are building a new world, but some of the materials we are needing haven't even arrived yet, so let's take a breath.

Tomorrow Mercury meets the Sun - this is a culmination point within our Sag house, surely something comes to light/dawns on us here. On Monday we have a lovely Libra Moon sextiling the Sun - excellent for cooperation, balance - and Mercury trines Chiron, Mars trines Neptune, all kinds of smooth energies. Looks like a good way to start the week.

xo all - back with the Eclipse post, please excuse any typos/nonsense, too tired to re-read

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of June 6th - Venus delivers the goods

little voice by moonywolf

You might remember last summer (why does last summer feel like 10 years ago to me?) Venus had a nice long retrograde. We were all figuring out, by working backward, what we really value and how to align ourselves, going forward, with that.

At one point during that cycle, mid August 2015, Venus was conjunct the Sun at 22 degrees Leo (sitting in the same space as the Sun). We talked about a new cycle kicking off - building our new dream.

(an update on our dream later this week!)

This also closed out the previous Venus cycle which started back in January 2014, kicked off a new 8 year cycle for our Leo house and closed out the previous Leo house cycle from 2007.

Venus, planetary ruler of women, love, relationships, money, resources and self-esteem, has a cycle with the Sun with phases similar to the Moon.

If Venus was the Moon, the cycle we kicked off last summer (mid August) would have been her New Moon phase (in Venus speak called her inferior conjunction/morning star phase); it was a launching point.

And like the New Moon, where stuff begins in the dark - things started slowly and didn't really kick up until the end of October when, at 16 degrees Virgo, Venus was conjunct the Sun again and we were in her initiated phase and things were "full steam ahead".

This week, at 13 degrees Gemini, Venus hooks up with the Sun again and reaches her superior conjunction - if she were the Moon this would be her Full Moon phase where the energy peaks.

(note - at the end of March 2017, when Venus hooks up with the Sun at 4 degrees Aries, this current cycle will conclude and a new cycle will kick off, a 19 month Venus cycle and a new 8 year cycle for our Aries house)

So MONDAY is the Full Moon phase of the current Venus cycle.

With Venus conjunct the Sun in Gemini this is a time of OPPORTUNITY (yes, for our Gemini house but also our Leo house that launched this cycle and for those Venus themes I mentioned earlier), good news, payoffs and yes, culminations. This could be about us receiving news and opportunities from the current cycle and also about attracting what we want (Venus) by the information/communication (Gemini/Mercury) we put out (Sun).

This also ends the Gemini cycle that began in June 2008 (and we can continue back in eight year increments to get a feel of what these cycles have looked like for us previously) and starts a new cycle in our Gemini house! Whew, I know this probably sounds confusing. Stay with me.

Venus' cycles pertain to Venus things - love, money and self-esteem. If we have planets or points near these degrees (22 Leo, 16 Virgo, 13 Gemini) this cycle will figure more prominently in our life. And, of course, everyone can use the Venus cycles as touchstones to start, develop and end situations that are Venus ruled!

We also have the Cancer Moon (home, family, security) making a very nice alignment to Jupiter (expansion, good luck) on Monday. Circle Monday, June 6th, on the calendar!

The next day (Tuesday) Venus and the Sun will square the Nodes (of fate) - this connects whatever is happening to our past (karma) and future (dharma). A square denotes tension. Something outside our control is requiring us to take a new action. In this case, we are faced with a choice. Stay with our same old story or evolve/change something and head toward the future (and mostly we all say we want a different future and then we do the same old thing - me, too - ack!).

With Venus and the Sun in Gemini (ruled by Mercury) and the North Node in Virgo (ruled by Mercury) and Mercury ruling our communication and information - something about receiving or giving information could play a role here (Mercury also rules transportation, teaching, writing, fast moving things like computers, siblings and our local neighborhood).

Remember we still have the Mutable Grand Cross energy (literally a cross in the sky). Crosses are about sacrifice, so whatever is happening will come with some kind of trade off. If we want this we have to do, or give up, that. For example - if we want our business to make X amount of dollars we have to give up X amount of free time/family time/other activities to make that happen!

With Gemini there are always choices. With this square to the North Node of our collective destiny life asks us to 'pretty please' make the best one. In Virgo - the best choice will probably be the thing that is most realistic or that provides the most service or that is the best option for our health or the thing that is the 'next step' right in front of us. Virgo also rules organization, paperwork, pets, employees and employment. With so much forward momentum in these areas a little effort can turn into a landslide. This won't be some big crazy thing where we bet the farm - although it could absolutely turn into something big. Small is the new big this year. And yes, I know I've been harping on the same stuff all year!

On Wednesday and Thursday the Moon is in Leo which brings a natural focus to our 5th house of children, love, fun and creativity. The week heats up even more on THURSDAY when Mercury (in Taurus and ruler of our North Node and Sun right now) opposes (just what it sounds like) a retrograde Mars (in Scorpio) - this could be an argument or deep conversation probably about something from the past.

At the same time Pluto (retrograde in Capricorn) trines (brakes off) the North Node (in Virgo) through next Monday. This could remove a roadblock and get us moving in a new and improved direction!

There is the continued need to be flexible, weigh options, watch for things that are not quite as they seem and truths coming out. Mercury finally leaves his shadow period and begins to cover new ground, but if we have been holding off on that big moving parts purchase (computers, cars, etc) until the Mercury retrograde was totally over, I would still hold out a little longer with all the chaotic Gemini energy.

We continue to work with the mutable t-square - Neptune in Pisces, Saturn in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Virgo. In the outer world U.S. politics this 3 legged table looks a lot like Bernie (Neptune - about to go retrograde), Hillary (Saturn - currently retrograde and moving direct in August) and Donald (Jupiter - about to be answering to Mercury in his home sign).

All is not as it seems though and it isn't the best time to get clear answers or make firm decisions - some things just have to work themselves out and fall into and out of place first. Mercury will move into his home sign of Gemini on Sunday - more about that next post.

Things will be much clearer and look very different in July when Mars is direct.
