On Monday, January 20th, 2025, Donald Trump will be sworn into office for the second time, becoming the United States 47th President. JD Vance will be sworn in as Vice President.
Since the unfolding of anything is encased in its beginning (the massive oak carried within the tiny acorn) - let's unpack the chart, ie contract, for President Trump's oath of office. We know the astrology of 2025 which I have been talking about in a series of posts
The U.S. inauguration, every four years, always happens with a 0 degree Sun in Aquarius.
This is by design and probably connected to the intelligence and astro skills of Benjamin Franklin whose birth-chart looks much more like what we would expect from the "father of our country" than George Washington's. Franklin, the oldest signer of the Declaration of Independence at 70 years old, was a Pluto in Leo at a time of Pluto in Aquarius. Today we would call him a Baby Boomer.
(for comparison George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton were 44, 40, 33 and 21)
At 0 degrees Aquarius, every four years, we start from the beginning of the masculine sign of FIXED AIR. Aquarius is the sign that comes after successful Capricorn. We start from the top of the ladder/the shoulders of giants/third base. We start with the unshakeable foundational idea of freedom and the need to BE FREE. Co-ruled by stable Saturn and disruptive Uranus, Aquarius is the sign of responsibility and revolution.
For the FIRST time EVER in U.S. history, Pluto - arguably the most powerful planet - will join the Sun here on Inauguration Day. This will never happen again in our lifetimes. This is HUGE.
This is a TIGHT conjunction. The Sun is applying to Pluto and will catch up to Pluto before the Inauguration coffee cups are cleared and the washed dinner dishes put away. The Sun/ego, is not so strong in Aquarius, a communal sign. The planet of summer in the sign of winter. The king answering to the people.
But here, our Sun is energized by his upcoming meeting with Pluto - the planet of real power and transformation and truth and scorched earth and death. Sun/Pluto is absolute commitment. Do or die trying. Sun/Pluto suggests someone or something with total authority. Gains here are hard-earned because there MUST be a confrontation with the corruption beneath the authority - with what is rotting, dying, DEAD.
(the last time Pluto was in the sign of Aquarius, Americans were dying for their freedom during the American Revolution, this was followed by the French)
I think Trump might be the only person on the planet who can handle this intense energy, and, it still might k*ll him.
The Sun is the President/king of the United States (and the Sun is also the United States itself) and conjunct the planet of death, power and transformation this chart intimates that the 2025-2029 presidency and what the United States DOES as the Sun - what it shines a light on, what it brings its considerable solar energy to, etc - brings empowerment or destruction.
Power is emphasized. Secrets can come to light. Weakness can invite challenge. Sun/Pluto can bring intense and complicated situations that are 'out of our hands'. History can come due. This aspect will be terribly impactful for Donald Trump and for the country. Empowering on the one hand, but also, because power corrupts and, also because Pluto rules physical death itself - very DANGEROUS.
The Sun/Pluto chart mid-heaven should make it hard to hide corrupt machinations over the next four years and their illuminations will be LIFE CHANGING.
Worked at its highest, this is the energy of great success and impact through the understanding of shadows. We are past the death/past the fear of death here, and, Trump might just be. At its lowest, this is about the domination and manipulation of others to obtain success and impact.
Sun/Pluto gives Trump unprecedented/un-presidented power, but look at that word and say it out loud and you can see the dangers inherent in this for him.
This is dangerous for the United States, too, but also brings the opportunity for something NEW to rise from the ashes of what is lost. Yes, to make America great again in a way - Jupiter retrograde. And maybe to live up to the words in the Declaration of Independence. Aquarius modern ruler is Uranus (another planet that IS Trump) as Trump has a tight natal Sun/NN/Uranus conjunction.
I heard Trump's son-in-law answer, when asked about his father-in-law's best quality on a podcast interview a couple years ago, "his best and most successful quality is his ability to be unpredictable".
Expect the unexpected. But we know that already.
Eclipses are cosmic resets and the LAST ECLIPSE before the inauguration was on October 2nd, 2024, at 10 degrees Libra. This was EXACTLY conjunct Trump's natal Ixion - an asteroid named for a golden and popular king who committed the first murder of a person by another person when he killed his father-in-law. He was exiled and had pretty much lost it all when Jupiter took pity on him and forgave him. Ixion was given a second chance by the king of the Gods (which he later blows). Trump hasn't killed his father-in-law (although there could be the symbolic death of a false father/U.S. power connected to his second term on some level), but he is the first convicted felon President. The United States has a Sag rising chart, and is, Jupiter. Transiting Jupiter is retrograde/going back and EXACTLY trine Trump's natal Ixion on Inauguration Day. Hopefully this whole thing works out better for Trump and the United States and the world than it did for Ixion in the end.
Ixion uses his power to get what he wants. To enact revenge on his father-in-law (Trump has multiple indicators in his chart for problems if revenge is not avoided). Ixion thinks he is above the law and above the consequences and is a stand-in for narcissism and corruption, but Ixion has a positive manifestation, too.
HE HAS THE CAPACITY TO ACT ON HIS OWN PASSION, the courage to go against convention, to reshape social norms. This is a very big deal and very few people can do this. Like it or not this is what Trump with his North Node of Fate conjunct Sun conjunct Uranus, born on an Eclipse is here to do.
Ixion is only toxic when he gets lost in his own pain and confuses it for entitlement. He is only really dangerous and damaging when he acts alone because he is stuck in a place where the world is cold and hard and he has to fight to survive.
And, this is the place where we collectively are now with the North Node in Pisces after 18 months of the North Node in Aries - stepping out of an isolating and dis-empowering belief that we are alone. This is going to be tricky territory to navigate people, I am so glad we have each other!
I have said most of this before though, so let's look AHEAD!
Let's start with Mars - with Mars on his natal ascendant, Mars is always an important planet for Trump. In some ways, Trump IS Mars. He was born with a strong royal Mars on fixed star Regulus - the king maker. Transiting Mars is still retrograde, bringing the war home (see my series of posts HERE), and maybe in Trump's case we could say - with Mars traveling from Leo back into Cancer, bringing the old king home.
Mars is at 24 degrees Cancer, so EXACTLY conjunct the United States natal Mercury - the news/media/information. Every move Trump makes will be talked about and analyzed. Mars squares Juno in Scorpio. Tension and frustration with those who want to stay close to power, those who will manipulate or even destroy to hold onto their connection to power.
(Ukraine has an exact Juno/Ascendent conjunction, so in a way IS Juno - will bring tension/frustration to Mars here. As will other imbalanced partnerships.)
The actions Trump wants to make and the actions the United States wants to make will be opposed by that Mercury in Cappy, but supported by Mars' exact merger with the United States natal Mercury. Serious heads, but also the old guard voices that probably need to go - Mercury in Cappy - may or may not prevail. Note - they are more likely to prevail when in line with the original roots of the United States, the original language and thinking. Transiting Mars is sandwiched between Trump's natal Venus (25 degrees) and Saturn (23 degrees) in mom, home, country and apple-pie Cancer. He is personally and intimately involved with this chart, with this 'war comes home' storyline, with the king coming home.
Mars will station direct in February and eventually will be back where he is today on April 5th, 2025. Mercury will be exact on the North Node of Fate on April 5th in Pisces and Neptune (ruler of Pisces) will be in Aries by this time and answering to Mars. This whole mid-March to early April timeframe for Trump is extremely dangerous and extremely opportunistic.
Mars is answering to the Moon in Libra. The Moon in this type of mundane chart represents 'the people'. The Moon in Libra will require 'give and take', diplomacy, cooperation. THE ART OF THE DEAL. The Moon in the inauguration chart is conjunct the U.S. natal Saturn and Trump's natal Jupiter. The Moon opposes Chiron, is conjunct Lilith, squares Mercury, gives us a Grand Cardinal Cross if we stretch to accomadate Mars in Cancer and I think we can. The Moon/the people ARE LIT. I think with Mars in Cancer, this Grand Cardinal Cross and Jupiter, the ruler of the U.S. Sun and planet of expansion about to go into Cancer - the United States could expand territory somehow under this transit.
With the Moon such a major player here it makes me think some kind of deal is brokered - and we do have the Israel-Hammas ceasefire deal going into effect right now hopefully. Deals around property and borders (Venus, the ruler of Libra conjunct Saturn) and real estate, will have a strong part to play in the next four years.
Something to keep in mind about changing borders is that we are always in the middle of the story. We think we are in the beginning or the end or that certain things have already changed are fixed in place now - they aren't. Everything is always just building on the last thing and taking us to the next thing. Things we didn't think would ever change in our lifetimes will. Could we see a 51st state or something like this in the next four years? Yes. Could it be Canada. Um, no, not likely and I doubt the Canadians are worried about this :) So, instead of getting pissed off when Trump casually says crazy-ass stuff like this, just allow this kind of BOUNDLESS THINKING to permeate into your own life. This is not end times. This is beginning time. Think bigger. Think win-wins. What in your own life needs to GROW?

The Moon in Libra is answering to Venus who is EXALTED in Pisces (able to operate at her highest and best - loving, magnetic, harmonic, beautiful and compassionate) and conjunct Saturn - who Venus likes. Venus, other than that Sun/Pluto POTENTIAL, if properly managed and it most likely won't/can't be, is the BEST THING ABOUT THIS CHART.
And, the good news is - she rules a nice chunk of it!
She rules the Moon, and so she rules Mars. She rules Uranus. She rules the chart - ascendent in Taurus. Sitting with Saturn pulls in stability and structure and says what is starting now will call for discipline and sobriety.
We are fortunate to have Venus in an exalted position and so powerful in this chart.
(Venus is going to retrograde in Aries and then back into Pisces and meet the North Node and Mercury multiple times. This will be my next 2025 post.)
In Pisces, Venus is answering to Neptune who is strong in Pisces. Neptune is tightly conjunct asteroid Phaethon and Borasisi and the North Node of Fate. Having the final dispositor of most of this chart in a conjunction with the North Node of Fate tells us whatever is happening here, we have to have faith, we have to let go of limiting expectations, we have to dream a bigger dream than ever before.
Ultimately, EVERY major planet in this chart is answering to Neptune at the time of the inauguration - and Neptune sits with the North Node of Fate!
Uranus is at 23 degrees Taurus - tight on the mid-heaven (public view, career and reputation) of both Trump and Vance's charts. He is conjunct Algol (eye of Medusa, a stand in for things like alcohol and algorithms which are connected to Medusa's turning men to stone and 'losing our head', which Medusa did). This is echoing the Sun/Pluto's WARNING - don't lose your head.
It's not a coincidence the Tik Tok situation will be early on Trump's agenda and that Facebook (Jupiter 23 degrees with Sun on Algol) CEO Mark Zuckerberg's relationship with Trump has been changing, and, in the news lately.
Uranus's retrograde status speaks of old traumas, old chaos, the changes we missed and the traumas we need to work through/not carry with us. Uranus in making all kinds of smooth aspects within this chart, so it is not likely the changes the next four years will bring will be stopped.
Change is happening. With Uranus making so many sextiles and trines, many things will be changing.
This chart has alot of good aspects and a Grand Cardinal Cross that speaks of the need to START SOMETHING. We are going back to go forward with Mars retrograde in Cancer. Remember how Pluto went back into old-school Capricorn for the United States election and is now in new-school Aquarius for the inauguration. There is a reason for this.
A BIG ONE.
Trump having all these young, smart, techie, detached/aspergery guys in his new posse isn't a coincidence.
The LA fires astrological connection to the Great Fire of Rome that I wrote about HERE made me think about the Roman Triumvirates - times Rome would have three leaders. The first Roman Triumvirate involved Caesar, Pompei and the richest man in Rome whose name was Crassus. Elon Musk's natal Sun/Mercury is almost exact on the United States natal Sun/Jupiter and his natal Venus tight on Trump's Sun, Uranus and NN. He will be influential and is part of this new energy. Musk, a natal NN/Mars in Aquarius wanted/wants to go to Mars - and, kind of is through his connection to Trump (Mars) to my way of looking at it. This current posse of plutocratic techies is about as Pluto in Aquarius as you can get. If I remember my history Rome's Triumvirate's didn't usually end well for its members. But, maybe in the future - a trio of leaders, instead of a single President, will be the standard. There will be some sticky changes with Pluto in Aquarius.
There are challenges here. The Sun/Pluto is uncharted territory. MARS IS RETROGRADE. Things that look like they are moving forward, well, they aren't. Yet. Mercury and Mars are both out of bounds - not under the control of the Sun. Words and actions will not be controllable. But, some of this just sounds like another day at the office for Trump, so may not be as bad for him, or the United States with him at the helm, as it sounds to me :)
The Moon in Libra is opposing Chiron, so imbalances will be PAINFUL. Looking at the way we over-give or over-expect a certain response is baked right into this chart.
Everything answering to Neptune in Pisces is like a dream - are we dreaming this whole thing?! Will that be the truth that comes to light? Ultimately with Neptune as the final dispositor of pretty much everything and Neptune ruling endings -
if Trump survives these dangerous early months, AND HE NEEDS TO BE VERY CAREFUL, he might still step aside at some point due to his age or a health situation like a stroke with Neptune going into Aries (Neptune being Trump's 8th house ruler) or something designed to look like a stroke. He could face something that diminishes him in a way similar to Biden's cognitive decline. Notice how everything happening with Mars retrograde is very boomerang-like, the shots we fire, even those that are justified, have a way of wounding us, too, in the end (I was born with a retrograde Mars in Leo, so know a thing or two about this).
Vance, with a mini-me Trump chart would step right in (surely before he is ready though with his natal Phaethon conjunct Trump's Sun).
And there is also the chart's tight North Node/Neptune conjunction to both Phaethon and Borasisi and the fact that the mythological and fictional WARNINGS connected with these two have alot in common.
I have talked about Phaethon before.
NOTE - Vance's natal Phaethon is conjunct Trump's natal Sun and Trump's natal Phaethon is conjunct the Asteroid Phaethon is tightly conjunct the North Node of Fate/Neptune conjunction.
Phaeton's mythology story goes something like this - born of the sea-nymph Clymene and the son God Apollo (Phoebus), Phaeton grew up never knowing his father, being teased by peers regarding his father-less upbringing, but with his mother telling him of his famous paternity. Phaeton finally tracks down Apollo to confirm his heritage and Apollo says, something, like, "yes, Luke, I am your father" without the "Luke" part (and no dramatic Star Wars music). Phaeton asks Apollo for some kind of proof to bring back to his local frenemies - he couldn't just snap a quick pic for Facebook in those days. Apollo promises to give him whatever he wants, and Phaeton wants to drive Apollo's chariot for the day - I guess cruise across the sky for all his buds to see. Apollo sensing big trouble ahead begs him to reconsider. Phaeton refuses, and, the promise being unbreakable, Apollo turns over the reins to his inexperienced son. Things go OK for a New York minute and then, the fiery steeds, sensing no God at the helm, crash across the sky, flying dangerously close to the Earth (scorching the land and creating the Sahara desert) until Jupiter (Zeus) begged by Gaia (Earth) to intervene, tosses a thunderbolt, and Phaeton crashes from the sky to his death.
So, let's kind of keep that "falling from the sky"/hubris/reckless/taking the reins too early thing in our heads. Also, the whole Jupiter shooting him down thing - Trump needs to be careful. Maybe Vance will, too. Trump has a strong Phaethon energy natally and Vance's Phaethon is made strong through its connection with Trump's Sun/son energy.
Then there is Borasisi. We talked about him HERE during last year's Total Solar Eclipse in Taurus when Borasis sat at 0 degrees Aries. Back then I wrote, "Borasisi, discovered in 1999 was named for the Sun God of a fictional religion in Kurt Vonnegut's book Cat's Cradle - the novel itself is a sci-fi world destruction tale about what happens when the powers that be/technocracy, lack integrity and ethics. There is also a weird religion in the book connected to the Sun God that is made up of lies that you believe in order to be happy. Both Phaethon and Borasisi have a connection to the words "Sun God" and Trump has a natal Apollo on his Ascendent in fiery Leo and certainly thinks he is something like a Sun God.
With one of the worst possibilities of the upcoming Saturn/Neptune at 0 degrees Aries being something like a 'dissolving of reality' - the possibility of these techies gone mad is something to think about. And with Pluto in Aquarius and Trump's Triumvirate (not sure who the third one is yet or if 'tri' is the correct prefix here) mad with power they could be.
Bottom line this is a BIG CHART. The biggest inauguration chart ever? Sun/Pluto, Cardinal Grand Cross, retrograde Mars and Jupiter, exalted Venus and everything answering to Neptune. Maybe it is. Big challenges. Big changes. Big opportunities.
If you were born with this chart, you would be a pretty big deal, and the next four years are sure to be. We already know from the 2025 astrology that a lot is going to happen this year and next year. I am not going to lie - there is the possibility of real trouble, but when there is the certainty of real change there is always the possibility of real trouble - it comes with the territory.
I could probably write another ten paragraphs, but this post is already way too long for most readers :) so I will call it a night.
Trump is unpredictable, but this IS kind of his superpower, so let's take a deep breath and give things time to shake out. Mars is still retrograde, so lots of things are still in flux/going to change.
He may look like he is getting off to a fast start, but that retrograde Mars will have them backtracking ... Mars square to the Moon (the people) will bring up discontent and require adjustments. I think more of what this chart is saying will become clearer as I finish up the 2025 posts with Venus retrograde and the final wrap-up post. This is the President's chart for the new term. It impacts our future but isn't our future.
