This was a rough week for alot of people. We will get back to current events in the weekly post next, but I wanted to jump ahead a bit, so we can better see what is coming up this year. Once the Mars retrograde ends, the Venus retrograde will begin.
Much of what is happening now is SUBJECT TO REVISION and changes of direction. Keep this in mind if you are struggling.
The Inauguration chart's final dispositor of EVERYTHING was Neptune AND the North Node of Fate - our collective best way forward - is in Pisces answering to Neptune. This says we need to HAVE FAITH. Bigger hands than ours have the wheel, and I am not talking about the guy with the notoriously small hands, but he is where he is supposed to be, too. People are pissed at me for saying this. But, astrologically speaking, and this is an astrology blog after all - this is what it is. HAVE FAITH.

Now let's take a deeper dive into the upcoming Venus retrograde. I might get up another part to this one after we see where we are once Mars goes direct, but there might be other things to talk about by then!
Venus goes retrograde - from our point of view here on Earth - every couple years, and, every eight years Venus will retrograde through the same sign (eight years ago Trump had just been elected the first time).
If we were to draw a map of these retrograde points in her eight-year-cycles we would draw a five-pointed star. And if we drew a map of these Venus retrograde points (named Venus Star Points) over long periods of time we would draw a perfect and graceful five petal flower/a delicate piece of sacred geometry showing us something of our own Venusian nature's kinship with beauty, balance, love and connection.
Since the 1980's (when Aquarius and Virgo cycled out) Venus has cycled through retrogrades in Aries, Capricorn, Gemini, Leo and Scorpio. Over the next ten years Aries and Scorpio will cycle out and Libra and Pisces will cycle in (maybe signifiers of the gentler and more cooperative years ahead once we get into the 30's).
So, different generations of people are born into, and live through, different Venus Star Points.
On March 1st, Venus will station retrograde at 10 degrees Aries.

And, I am just realizing the degree of Venus's station as I write this. So, she is tightly conjunct March's HOT 9 degrees Aries and in a sextile to next week's Aquarius New Moon! Venus will get all the way back to 24 Pisces on April 12th.
This Venus retrograde - all 40 days and 40 night of it - will have us re-assessing BIG themes in our lives. Always with Venus we are re-looking at our relationships. Our resources. Our values. What we see as beautiful. Our money, Our self-esteem.
While Venus is retrograde in Aries (March 1st - March 27th) we are re-viewing our passions and motivations. The ways we work with masculine energy and, even, young men. The ways we start. The ways we take action. The ways we FIGHT. Venus is in her detriment in the sign of Aries and, especially when retrograde, some of Aries' more negative qualities can come up for re-view - impulsivity, antsiness, impatience, childishness, arrogance, etc.
Then Venus is going to move back into Pisces. We go back to the way things end. Our boundaries thin and we can feel what the other guy is feeling. Venus is exalted here, but the whole backward thing has an impact, too. We might feel more of what we are missing. Compassion, love might seem to be lacking. In Pisces, we might find a sacrifice is needed.
We might be brought back to a something or someone we once loved to pick up where we left off, or more likely, to feel how we don't line up anymore. To close that book. To tie up loose ends.
It's important to keep in mind that this is a process and Venus is going to TURN AROUND. Venus retrograde may not be the best time to make a large purchase or start a new relationship (this isn't always true, sometimes we do return to old situations, people who have the same energy as someone we once knew or loved or even past-life situations). Sometimes good buys can be found because people part with things they never would part with before.
BIG PICTURE - we are WORKING WITH THE WAY THE STORY ENDS. We are re-vising an ending. How do we get a better/more compassionate ending? BEFORE the fresh start (or maybe the fight) that is coming.
(this is what Trump is ACTUALLY doing, not what he looks like he is doing - he gets a second chance for a better ending and so do we, we will ALL be more compassionate and connected AND more independent and individualistic and RESILIENT - whatever is needed for us personally - as we head into this new Aquarius world TOGETHER)
So, Venus starts this thing in Aries. The very best place to start. Venus gets into Aries on February 4th. Maybe we are taking action. Maybe we are pissed off. Maybe we are passionate about something new. Maybe we are FIGHTING.
Venus is receptive feminine energy. She is how we attract what we want. In Aries, she functions best by being assertive/by putting herself first. In Aries, Venus is a warrior. But, she is honestly not always so effective in Aries. We will have to see how this goes.
Then on March 1st - there is a hold up. Something turns around on us. This retrograde is here for a reason and eventually it goes back into Pisces where Venus is exalted (and a compassionate loving Goddess), for a reason. And, yes, this is about women, but this is not ONLY about women. Everyone has Venus in his/her chart.
(It might be worth noting that Trump consciously/unconsciously did not put his hand on the Bible during the swearing in ceremony at his inauguration. The United States being a Jupiter ruled country and Jupiter ruling religion, makes this even more powerful and symbolic. Trump being so supported by religious people does, too. He is Mars out of bounds here. Won't be controlled, but I doubt he even understands what he is doing. Maybe he does. Maybe he just forgot the way this thing usually works. The 'hand hanging at his side thing' he did, rather than his hand on the Bibles that Melania stood there holding, also left Melania, the first lady (who has a Taurus stellium with an uber powerful natal Venus on Algol and Juno at the end of Pisces) DISCONNECTED. The symbolism on so many levels is stunning.)
Venus does NOT want to be in Aries answering to Mars and when her retrograde gets started on March 1st, 2025, Mars is in Cancer - after his own long retrograde. Mars (as us) is starting over with a revised sense of SECURITY. Revised sense of home and country. Whatever this is for us within our Cancer natal house. Our stability, our structure, our mother, our home, our country, has CHANGED. That part is done. Sort of.
In Aries, Venus loves a challenge, so that shiny object just out of reach, could become something like an obsession. Venus in Aries can attract impulsive, energetic and even COMBATIVE PARTNERS AND PROJECTS.
Whichever way the story evolves, the thing that has grabbed our attention will have re-awakened some part of us that needs to WAKE UP.
Then Venus, as us, goes back into Pisces. Hold on a minute - we missed something. There is something here that didn't end right. Something that needs to be adjusted before Venus gets back into Aries to start/to fight/to attract. Venus is exalted in Pisces, so she is also returning to a space where she is STRONGER. For some people, this will be a much-needed time and space to RE-GROUP.
In Pisces for the second time, now she is doing everything AGAIN and like Ginger Rogers doing everything Fred Astaire does, except backward and in high heels.
Are we afraid to move forward or afraid to fight and escaping into an illusion/delusion/addiction? Have we seen the 'start' and not liked what we are attracting from this space of impulsivity/anger/assertiveness so need more love/compassion? We talked about 'compassion' for 'those who have more' in the California Fire post HERE. This whole Aries to Pisces thing and back again could be said to speak of the need for compassion for men/masculine energy. For the fast beginnings that are changing things we thought couldn't change.
Let's see if a look at the repeating aspects gives us any new information that can help us navigate this retrograde.
March 1st - Venus stations retrograde in Aries
March 21st - Venus (retrograde) sextiles Pluto
March 22nd - Venus (retrograde) conjuncts the Sun
NOTE - the Sun is also sextile Pluto and conjunct Mercury here, then Mercury sextiles Pluto - this timeframe is LIT - and pulls us into Eclipse season, so once we get to the middle of March it is GAME ON with something - this is echoing the Eclipse post for 2025 - VERY IMPORTANT TIME PERIOD in 2025
March 27th - Venus retrograde re-enters Pisces and conjuncts Neptune
April 1st - Venus retrograde conjuncts the North Node
April 6th- Venus retrograde trines Mars
April 10th - Venus retrograde conjuncts Saturn, Venus sextiles Uranus
APRIL 12TH - Venus stations direct at 24 Pisces on a FULL MOON in Venus-ruled Libra with the Sun conjunct Chiron
April 20th - Venus sextiles Uranus
April 24th - Venus conjuncts the North Node and Saturn
May 2nd - Venus conjuncts Neptune
May 6th - Venus sextiles Pluto
Note - the Sun meets Venus for the only time in 2025, at 2 degrees Aries on MARCH 22nd with Venus retrograde. This is called their 'inferior conjunction', is a regular part of Venus/Sun cycles and has the energy of a NEW MOON. This is the very middle of the Venus retrograde and shines a light on what this retrograde is about for us. This is CLARITY around our values, our ideas about women and beauty, our relationships, our resources, what we need for peace and happiness. Happening conjunct the 0 degree Aries, Aries point, our collective attention will be on something, too. This time period is LIT - I said that, right?! We will know/see what we are putting out by what we are getting back.
Relationships and projects that start during a Venus/Sun conjunction will connect to our own Sun/the way we are here to shine.
What is Venus (as us) REPEATING during this retrograde?
1. We have that opportunistic sextile to Pluto in Aquarius while Venus is in Aries.
We have this sextile THREE times - February 7th (direct), March 21st (retrograde) and then the final sextile with Venus direct on May 6th. You can see this has a LONG trajectory.
The first Venus/Pluto is happening on February 7th, the day when the North Node is meeting Neptune, the ruler of the North Node. Mercury is fast approaching the Sun - something is coming to light - and both are inconjunct Mars.
PAY ATTENTION TO THIS DATE and the days near this date.
Life works with us THROUGH THESE TRANSITS. Opening portals for our karma/dharma to be activated. For knots to be tightened and also untangled. This could be a fast-moving opportunity or attraction that is deep/intense. A commitment to courage or motivation or to what is starting. Pluto can dredge up very old and powerful situations and people. Pluto brings empowerment, the real kind, but it comes through commitment, through digging up what is buried and through what we put six feet under, through truth, through mergers, through our ancestral inheritances, through the steely reserve needed to look death in the eye and sometimes through actual death. We are each going to have to see what we have going on here in our lives. Venus rules money and Pluto rules merged money. Venus rules love and Pluto rules sex. The sextile is a soft aspect and will not have to be dealt with, but with THREE activations and the first one happening with the Neptune/North Node of Fate and Mercury/Sun - this seems to be very important.
2. We have the conjunction of Venus and Neptune.
Neptune is the higher octave of Venus and they are meeting three times in the sign of Pisces where Venus is exalted and Neptune rules. Their first meeting is on February 1st, 2025. They meet again with Venus retrograde on March 27th and finally with Venus direct on May 2nd. On February 1st, Venus is conjunct both Neptune and the North Node. She is direct here and powerful.
THIS IS A DATE WITH DESTINY. Venus/Neptune speaks of a HIGHER PURPOSE. Venusian themes - women, money, relationships, our self esteem and values, our resources - unite with both the future and an energy that transcends what is REAL and what is personal. PRAYER - and magic and art and music - WILL BE MEGA-POWERFUL. The best way to handle this energy (because our boundaries are uber thin here) is to release unhealthy attachments in order to create room for something better and newer and since this is the North Node it might also be uncomfortable because it is unfamiliar. And this will be HAPPENING no matter what it looks like is happening. What will also be happening is an 'escape from reality'. That dreamy 'whatever-it-is' might or might not turn out to be real. Lies are very Neptunian.
Keep in mind - we cannot own anything that Neptune offers us. If we attract money under this transit, there will be a PURPOSE behind it that is bigger than ourselves, and, most likely, it will slip right through our fingers later. The same can be said for relationships and for whatever falls under our own Pisces house theme.
Also keep in mind, we are going to be here THREE times. This is a PROCESS. Venus's connection with Neptune pulls past-life energies into the story. What is behind us. What has been done in secret. Sometimes the energies of very old sacrifices bear fruit.
3. We have the conjunction of Venus and Saturn.
This happens on January 18th, April 10th (retrograde) and, finally, on April 24th when Venus and Saturn join the North Node.
Conjunctions are beginnings. Have I said that? This Venus retrograde - that is all about a better and more compassionate ending - is ALSO initiating, revising and re-initiating multiple BEGINNINGS.
Venus/Saturn is SOBER. This is the start that is grounded in reality. There is work ahead and that becomes OBVIOUS. This is a reality check. These are the results we have earned. Often, we feel alone/old when a Venus/Saturn transit is personal for us. We can feel what we are lacking. This is about becoming more mature, stable, serious.
MARK THAT APRIL 24TH date. Here is where we will know where we stand. It is THIS start that connects us with that North Node future. Notice how the Venus/North Node/Neptune (dream, what you cannot hold, no boundaries) comes BEFORE her retrograde and the Venus/North Node/Saturn (reality, what you can hold, limits) comes AFTER.
This is very symbolic of all of us being on more realistic and stable ground by that third week of April, but, we have to work through the process of the Venus retrograde to get here.
4. We have the sextile between Venus and Uranus.
We have the first sextile on January 26th with Venus in Pisces. The second, with Venus retrograde, happens on April 10th and then the final sextile is on April 20th. That middle sextile with Venus retrograde happens with Venus conjunct Saturn, so she is sitting with Saturn and sextiling Uranus.
Again, this is a creative opportunity and Uranus is in Taurus answering to Venus and Venus is exalted in Pisces - making this MORE POWERFUL. This brings our attention to something NEW. Relationships, our self-esteem, creative projects, our VALUES are GENTLY PRODDED in a new direction. This is about an UNEXPECTED OPPORTUNITY. Something that is liberating and creates greater freedom. This could be a new source of income, new relationship, new resource, etc. Our values, our self esteem is UPGRADED. This could be the time - to take a chance with something else.
So, what have we learned about Venus's upcoming retrograde in Aries and Pisces by looking at these repeating aspects?
One thing we can see is what we don't see. No repeating squares. No repeating oppositions.
We can see some of the repeating aspects are happening at the same time. The open portals are supporting each other. Working together.
Venus is making repeating conjunctions to Saturn - the ancient ruler of Aquarius, and repeating sextiles to Uranus, the modern ruler. She meets the North Node of Fate - our collective best way forward - THREE TIMES, while she is in Pisces and sextiles powerful Pluto in Aquarius THREE TIMES while she is in Aries.
This is crazy potent. See this as THREE CHANCES TO GET THINGS RIGHT. To re-assess our values, our relationships, our resources. To release old karmic cords via a better ending. To change what we attract BEFORE we begin again.
The trickiest part of all this is what ELSE WILL BE HAPPENING while Venus is doing her backward thing. She could be thought to be turning around just when we need her most, BUT there is a reason for this that will be clearer to us as we get closer.
I am going to do one final post about the other Goddess energies in 2025 because I feel I have kind of lost track of them and then pull everything together.
People with planets and points from near 24 Pisces to 10 degrees Aries will be strongest impacted by this retrograde, as well as people with planets/points in late degree mutable and water signs and early degree cardinal and fire signs, but all of us will be impacted.
