The Moon is in Aries today - we are nourished/nurtured by action, physical movement, taking the initiative, following our instincts, time spent alone, time spent with men, passion, anger. She is waxing (growing). She will trine Venus in Sagittarius and square the Capricorn Sun.
The square is this month's First Quarter Square - the first challenge to the serious fresh start of last week's New Moon in Capricorn. First Quarter Squares always show up as tension and frustration and urge us to take action to correct it/feel better.
Aries is young/impulsive energy. Wants what it wants. Wants it NOW. Aries squares can make us antsy/add pressure to take action, get something moving.
The Cappy Sun is slower, older/wiser sets rules/limits.
AND sometimes the limits are too limiting and rules too rigid. Aries energy comes in and shakes things up. Maybe WE need to be the shaker-upper now. Or maybe we are the ones whose outdated authority is being challenged. Either way - to keep the flow of last week's New Moon in Cappy going, this tension/frustration/resistance is NEEDED .. so we can turn a corner.
This is also the day Venus in Sag (who has just trined that same Cappy Moon) moves into her opposition with Vesta, retrograde in Gemini. I missed this in the weekly.
Vesta (how we keep our inner flame lit) is the energy of our sacred focus/devotion and I have found people with a strong Vesta tend to be passionate about a cause or their career. Retrograde in Gemini since the end of December, she is doing her best to contain Gemini's curiosity, to re-turn us to an issue/an idea/a conversation, so maybe we can make a different choice, see the other side of things or just zero in on an important detail. Maybe we are taking another look at an area of multi-tasking or a local community or sibling situation. Gemini also rules our hands, twins and twin situations, tricksters, commerce and transportation. Vesta retrograde wants our focus/attention HERE. If our focus is scattered all over the place, Gemini run amok, it can't be called a FOCUS at all.
(note Vesta will station direct in Gemini on February 8th just as the Sun squares Uranus and hours before the New Moon in Aquarius - so this Gemini re-look is even more important PLUS Gemini is going to be very important later in the year through Jupiter and Sedna)
Venus - how we attract what we are wanting - comes in through "sky's the limit/big-picture" Sagittarius to broaden Vesta's view of things.
Un-attach her focus.
Venus applies a wide angle lens to Vesta's camera - "Venus" coming through a situation, other person, belief, etc.
Or conversely depending on our roles here "Vesta" brings Venus, with her head in the blue skies of Sagittarius, back to an important DETAIL. Pay attention.
Venus is uber busy this week. Rules our relationships, our resources, our self-esteem and in Sagittarius is bringing the hope/optimism/faith.
She has already met up with Ceres and squared Juno, retrograde in Virgo before she opposes Vesta now, and she is applying to her BIG square to Neptune that happens right around the time Pluto meets the Sun and they jump into Aquarius at the end of the week.
With the Venus/Neptune pulled into the Sun/Pluto into Aquarius, anything in her run-up to that probably matters more than it otherwise would. So, this need, as she opposes Vesta, to WIDEN our focus a bit OR to focus in on an important detail depending on our situation - basically to work the OPPOSITION of the big-picture and the details is important. Part of the process. Part of the new story.
Keep in mind Venus in Sag is answering to Jupiter in Taurus, so they are in mutual reception/in each other's signs. This strengthens both of them and allows Venus access to her beloved sign of Taurus through Jupiter, so through a stretch/risk, through confidence, through optimism/faith.
This is kind of echoing today's Aries Moon, so don't be afraid to push your luck a bit now.
