The astrology of the covid vaccinations | part II - the USA shots begin as Mars meets the USA natal Chiron on an eclipse!

Part l is HERE

So, now let's take a look at the USA's charts. We will look at the chart for the first USA vac and then see how it connects with the USA natal.

The USA public vaccinations begin as transiting Mars hits the USA natal Chiron, transiting Chiron squares the U.S. natal Jupiter (U.S. chart ruler) on a Solar Eclipse! Whah!

Let's unpack the charts!

The top chart is for the first USA vaccination - at 9:05AM in Brooklyn, New York - this was the date of the Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius (a new quest) - I wrote about it HERE. We can see the chart has a Capricorn rising which makes Saturn, at 29 degrees Capricorn, the chart ruler for the vaccination event itself. Now, Saturn rules Capricorn which is a good thing although the 29th degree itself is considered an anaretic degree - accidentally weak/exhausted at the end of a sign - it often speaks of a desperate situation/a 'Hail Mary' play.

Moving right into the second chart - the first chart is pretty much all there in the Eclipse post - mostly a good Eclipse forecast (but Eclipses are tricky times to predict) with the exception of that dissolving/sometimes disappointing square to Neptune from the Eclipse Moon and Sun. Not a small thing in the vac chart since we are talking about a virus (Neptunian condition).

The first thing we see in that second chart - now here we are comparing the USA birth chart to the chart when that first vaccination is happening -  is we have Mars  EXACTLY conjunct the USA natal Chiron (wounded healer).

The transiting North Node is conjunct the USA natal Mars - the future/fate. Mars on the U.S. natal Chiron speaks of action toward healing very deep/old woundings - remember the "event" that stoked this whole fire (the mid-January meeting of Saturn and Pluto at 22 degrees Cappy) happened on the U.S. natal asteroid Narcissus which is squaring the Mars/Chiron.

Healings related to our collective narcissism, through Trump/through covid. As well as the learning, which may come now and over time, that there will be some things we are probably going to need to just learn to live with. 20 degrees Aries is also the degree of Biden's natal Sedna - she is going to play a BIG role in part III of this series as we decipher this stuff without all the astro talk. So, we have Mars meeting the USA's Chiron and Biden's Sedna at the time of the Eclipse/vaccination kick off. Biden's chart is about to be impacting the U.S. chart the way Trump's has been for the past four years, so this is important.

Transiting Sedna is conjunct the USA natal Wuhan/Pandora conjunction on fixed star Algol (known as the most malevolent star). She is trining those Cappy planets - Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn and squaring the USA Moon (the people, not all of whom trust/want the vaccine).

Transiting asteroids Pandora and Wuhan (two significators or tested stand-ins for the virus/pandemic) straddle the USA mid-heaven with transiting Narcissus opposing transiting Chiron. So, all the players are interacting, which is probably a good thing, but the interactions are complicated.

Transiting Venus - ruler of the USA's natal 6th house of health - is in the 12th house sextiling the USA natal Pluto, so there is alot we can't see here/can't measure/can't know. But we can see that chart ruler Saturn's very next aspect is an opportunistic sextile to Venus - this is good news since he rules the chart and she rules the USA natal 6th house (health). It does indicate this is going to take some time, but also that the opportunity to Venus - that 6th house- comes through Saturn, still in Cappy at this point, but at that anaretic degree (although a sign he rules), so we might say exhausted and tossing a 'Hail Mary' play. We could look at this as a weak government (that anaretic Saturn) imposing its authority on the people's daily lives/health (that 6th house), too. Nothing is set into stone and both the USA and UK vac programs started during a volatile Eclipse season, so this is all very karmic (meaning the result of a cause already set into motion) and unpredictable.

Both charts - and this is still in play now - have that dissipating square to Neptune.

Which also makes it hard and we might say not possible to know for certain what results to expect. And both the UK and the USA have major challenges to their natal charts in the months and years ahead.

Keep in mind that every history book we have ever read was lived by people who DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. They had to just give things their best shot (no pun intended). And that, that 'living on'/doing the best they could do without knowing the outcome, is what PRODUCED the right outcome. Knowing the outcome ahead of time would have just screwed it all up.

We don't have a crystal ball, but astrology can be put to good use. The North Node - our guiding star - is in Gemini. The questions are more important than the answers. And sometimes with the North Node in Gemini our biggest screw-ups come because we ask the wrong questions.

I have become more and more interested in the asteroids/dwarf planets in the last couple years.

It is believed in astrological study, celestial bodies are discovered when we are ready to work with/know their energies and then synchronistically named. I have come to see them/their stories (told through their myths, by researching their placement in historical charts and by what is going on in the collective at the time they are discovered) as fragments of culture, held within our DNA - maybe a physical representation of that so-called junk DNA - so above, so below - or that 95% of the universe that is dark matter.

It is mega-important to note Chiron is active and activated in both charts - the wounded healer whose orbit takes him between Saturn and Uranus (Chiron in our natal chart shows the wounds that have a history longer than our lifetime). Saturn and Uranus are the co-rulers - Saturn/ancient, Uranus/modern, of the sign of Aquarius, whose age we are in/moving into.

Keep in mind, and this is VERY IMPORTANT that 2021 is going to be DEFINED by Saturn and Uranus's three-peating squares to each other AND Saturns three-peating sextiles to Chiron. This is not a coincidence.

Chiron travels - and his orbit is quite wonky - to the outer planet of Uranus (think - our higher hive mind, the memory of the ancestral traumas we carry that our lower mind has forgotten, outsider/alien territory/futuristic, non-dualistic energies) and then comes back into the fold and literally penetrates Saturn's orbit - which is our REALITY.

You can read the story of Chiron HERE

Astrologers have come to associate Chiron with very old woundings (multi-generational) that cannot be healed - we work with what is given to us/make the best of it that we can. A great example is a recovered/recovering alcoholic who becomes a counselor for other recovering alcoholics. Or maybe a better example is a closet drinker who effectively counsels recovering alcoholics - the healer who can heal others, but not herself. At our best we interrupt the wounding/let the light in. At our worst we continue/worsen the cycle. It's not so much about healing the wound as in learning to live with it in the highest possible way. And hopefully stop the continuation of the wounding into the next generation. On the one hand, when we are born we are literally created through our past lives into someone who lines up with this problem and on the other hand (and this is probably all the same hand) we are handed this problem ancestrally with our job being to 'figure this sh*t out'.

Chiron's own wound was healed through compassion/sacrifice when he gave up his own life to save Prometheus. Chiron was a great healer though, long before his own un-healable injury and considered the father of the Greek's medical art. I have seen his transits bring healing. And, of course, his story - the un-healable part - involved being pierced/shot with an arrow that has been laced with poison. And since we are talking about vaccinations, we will keep this in mind, too.

The USA natal Chiron is at 20 degrees Aries.

If we see this as our nation's wounding - natally, so likely of the unhealable variety - what does that tell us about the nature of the wound? Signs are divided into decans and 20 degrees Aries is the very end of Aries decan two. According to astrologer Marina at Dark Star Astrology (you can read the post HERE) "this decan is where Aries gets regal, for here we have the King, Princess, Dragon, etc. These people follow no leaders and work best as their own boss or taking command over others." Astrologer Austin Coppock calls Aries decan 2, "the Crown", and says, "applied magically, this decan has tremendous power. It is the power to generate the world of your choosing and to be its sovereign. It is the key to creating realities that do not obey the laws of the collective reality field in which they exist.” Interesting his use of the word "crown" since corona also means crown and "key" since Chiron is known as the key (and its symbol looks like a key), but of course we are always seeing what we are looking for :)

What also caught my eye with these charts was dwarf planet Sedna and I think here is the real story of what is happening.

We will talk about her in part III.

Less astro babble in this last one and we'll look at what this could all mean and some thoughts on where this might go ...

Astrology Forecast for Monday, September 24th - Full Moon in Aries, a painful ending or culmination, a vulnerability coming to light, conversations around touchy subjects, a zeitgeist, taking action on our long term goals or something that stabilizes, rock solid commitments, new beginnings that are RIGHT IN OUR FACE

Bright Full Moon by Claire Solo

"I'd rather be whole than good." ... C.G. Jung

MONDAY - Full Moon at 1 degree Aries
TUESDAY - Sun squares Saturn
WEDNESDAY - Chiron backs into Pisces, Mars conjuncts the South Node
THURSDAY - Sun trines Mars
FRIDAY - Pluto stations direct

I write the weeklies on Sunday and again this Sunday, my time is not my own, so I will have to do dailies!

This week is going to be big and busy. Let's take a look at Monday.

The Moon is VOID ALL DAY on MONDAY until her move into Aries at 7:04PM EDT (so not the day to start anything new) opposing the Sun, freshly housed in Libra, and giving us this year's Full Moon in Aries.

The Full Moon is always a time of tension - it's a time of Sun opposite Moon. Oppositions are pretty much just what they sound like. There is a reason police departments and emergency rooms are uber busy during Full Moons!

This month we've got the Sun in Libra at 1 degree (ruled by Venus - peace, women, balance, fairness, love, cooperation) and the Moon in the opposite sign of Aries at 1 degree (ruled by Mars - war, young men, initiative, passion, courage, anger, violence, independence).

This is the culmination of the Aries New Moon that launched the lunar year back in April, maybe something from that time is finishing up. Feels like years ago, doesn't it? I am aging in dog years now, how about you?

At the Full Moon things peak, culminate or come to light. Results are delivered. Stuff finishes up.

Conjunct wounded healer Chiron, it is possible that a weakness or vulnerability is illuminated now. Something here is outside of our control. Endings are probably going to hurt. The Moon squares both Vesta and Saturn (both in serious Capricorn). The whole thing is forming a T-Square with Saturn/Vesta as the focus. Saturn is authority and structure - walls and rules. Vesta speaks of devotion and in Capricorn; a devotion to tradition; keeping things the way they have always been, keeping the flame alive. A responsibility/commitment/limit is highlighted.

The Sun is cozied up to Mercury so a spotlight (Sun) could be directed onto a conversation or message or idea. The opposition to the Moon in fiery Aries tells us something here is too demanding or creates contention or is simply unfair. Or maybe our head is at odds with our emotions (instincts). Imbalances within relationships could be highlighted. Self-interest could be highlighted - this is the Aries Moon after all! With both the Sun and Mercury squaring Saturn - there could be limits around communication - what can be said, what information comes out. Maybe answers are not to our liking. Maybe the numbers don't add up.

The Moon is sextile (opportunity) Mars - ruler of the Moon since he rules Aries! - telling us we will be able to move through this if we take take action on (that Saturn!) our long terms goals/goals that increase our security over time. This is a time for solid commitments - for things that are built to last. Remember Mars is moving toward his final conjunction with the South Node - we are all clearing the decks and making way for something NEW!

EXAMPLE for Aries/Aries Rising - and remember Aries rising is the collective energy since it puts the signs in their natural houses (meaning this example is in play for all of us collectively - although you may have stronger themes at play with your natal house themes). With the Moon sitting with Chiron painful endings are possible now. Some could be things we have initiated, others could be forced upon us. The T-Square speaks of changes within our career/what we have publicly devoted ourselves to (Saturn/Vesta), our partnerships (Libra Sun) and ourselves/our brand (Aries Moon). Sun/Mercury indicates powerful conversations around touchy subjects. Mars is pushing for action on our goals that increase out long-term security - we are playing the long game, remember! Know that commitments/contracts/partnerships initiated now and built on solid ground are going to be around for awhile. Actions now have far reaching consequences. Fortune favors the brave at this Full Moon. We will need to work through our fear/vulnerability with whatever it is we are trying to do now!

So, the above is the general layout of this Full Moon for all of us because these are the collective houses.

We also each have our natal layout that could be more precise. Where are your natal Aries, Libra and Capricorn houses - what are those house themes? Let's look at one sign (sorry I didn't have the time to think about/write about all twelve).

EXAMPLE for Scorpio/Scorpio Rising - this Full Moon is happening in your 6th house (Aries house) of your day-to-day activities, your routine, work, co-workers, pets and your health. The Moon sitting with Chiron here speaks of the possibility of a painful ending or a vulnerability/pain coming to light. You will likely feel unprepared for whatever is happening. Uncomfortable conversations (Capricorn house) are possible around those 6th house themes, something you have devoted yourself to and/or issues from the past (Libra house - maybe something you haven't wanted to look at, a healing issue, an addiction, a secret). Do what needs to be done Scorpio. But keep in mind this isn't the time for any mountain leaping. As a friend said to me recently - when you don't know what is "right" to do - do what is sensible. Your modern ruler, Pluto, is moving direct at the end of this week, your energy/power is set to return - hang in there!

With the Full Moon happening at the Aries point (1 degree Aries) there is a collective story playing out - a zeitgeist - for this moment that matters. Pay attention to the national news, the world news and your local news. With the Aries Full Moon - we are working the Aries/Libra polarity. Us vs other people. How we partner. How we balance and share. Is justice just? Since Aries is ruled by Mars and Libra is ruled by Venus - this could be a masculine vs feminine story ....

This is a fiery Full Moon - keyed in to endings, yes, but also to the Sun's Libra ingress and POWERFUL NEW BEGINNINGS - get out and walk in it.

With so many planets in the early degrees it is good energy for fresh starts and to get stuff out into the world - just watch the long Void Moons, we have three this week!

Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of March 29th, 2021 - April 4, 2021 - healing old wounds, opportunities with love and money, our way forward gets shored up, our thinking/the story changes

MONDAY - Sun conjunct Chiron, Mercury conjunct Neptune

TUESDAY - Venus sextile Saturn

WEDNESDAY - Venus sextile North Node, Sun sextile Saturn

THURSDAY - Sun sextile North Node

FRIDAY - Mercury sextile Pluto

SATURDAY - Mercury into Aries

Look at all those sextiles (opportunities) folks! Let's unpack the week!

On MONDAY, the Sun meets Chiron at 8 degrees Aries, while Mercury meets Neptune at 21 degrees Pisces

We talked about Monday HERE - note, Monday is the day this is most exact, this has been building for a while and will spend some time unwinding. You probably want to read it.

TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY - Venus, at 11 degrees Aries, sextiles (opportunity) Saturn, at 11 degrees Aquarius then moves on to sextile the North Node at 12 degrees Gemini, then following Venus's lead the Sun sextiles Saturn and then moves on to sextile the North Node.

The Venus/Saturn is OPPORTUNITY - here is where our NEW wants/love/resources become more stable/serious/in tune with the collective/in tune with the future. Yes, there are responsibilities and limits here, too, but with the sextile's smooth flow - this shouldn't be overly cumbersome and look what we are already dealing with! Aries/Aquarius sextiles are fire/air, so enabled through passionate words/language/ideas. Being independent, but acting collectively/maybe within a group. Yesterday's Mercury/Neptune is still in play, so something might be hidden or not quite as ideal as it could seem now, so keep that in mind - and our ideas/thinking/plans are subject to some changes at the end of the week as Mercury joins the Aries party, but there is something REAL here, too - something that will last/we can count on it.

As Venus is moving off her sextile to Saturn the Sun is moving into his sextile, as Venus moves off her North Node sextile, the Sun moves into his own sextile with the North Node. Here is our solar energy/our independent spirit in harmony with the group/our future as our path forward grows more solid.

Venus is not so strong in Aries and being this close to the Sun is burning her out, but the Sun is EXALTED in Aries and benefits from Venus. This period of time is a gift to us. Decide. Move forward. Commit. Firm something up. The Gemini North Node is flexible, can offer multiple ways forward - remember the Full Moon energy (in play now) HERE - starting from ourselves/our source and this giving us the ability to make any direction the right direction!

This is Venus (relationships, money, our resources, values, self-esteem, women) and the Sun (our ego, our fuel, ourselves, our father/authority) connecting with Saturn, strong in his home sign - so adding structure, longevity, stability, authority (and, yes, limits and responsibilities - we can't do/have everything) and then connecting with the North Node (our path forward). With Mercury in foggy Pisces we don't have to KNOW what we want. With Mercury in foggy intuitive Pisces we can feel what we want (it's what we've always wanted, what we all want) and Venus/Sun can give us the motivation, initiative, courage to make a move in a new direction. If something comes along - say YES.

On FRIDAY - Mercury at 26 degrees Pisces now, moves into her/his sextile with Pluto (in Cappy).

The stage is set for honest communications, so here's where the conversation deepens/intensifies. Information is power. Our compassionate words are powerful. We can be more persuasive. Money talks. If something is fading to black, here are the final smoky wisps out the door. Pisces/Cappy is the idealistic dreamer and the practical, seasoned pro working together. Building the dream. Making a sacrifice for the goal.

If the Mercury/Neptune has pulled us off course, here is where we might get a gentle reality check.

On SATURDAY - Mercury finally gets out of the Pisces soup (a sign of his detriment) and begins a new cycle in fiery Aries.

The conversation/our thinking changes/sharpens.

New plans. New ideas. Mercury in Aries is so fast, she/he can solve problems before we even know we have a problem! This is going to be a fast transit (only through April 19th), but that's all we will need for our thinking/the conversation/ideas to SHIFT.

Our language and thinking becomes more focused, clear-headed and passionate. Mercury in Aries puts our instinct into words. Our mind gets faster. Our tongue gets sharper. Words get pushy. It is easier to speak up for ourselves and ask for what we want/need.

We can also more easily pick an argument as language becomes more competitive. Mercury in Aries says, "I know what I think and THIS is what I think."

The silence that was so golden in Pisces - gets broken in Aries.

The best use of this transit would be saying what we really think - and yes, this can get us into trouble, so we won't be an ass about it - keep in mind Aries' impulses can be either self-aggrandizing and immature or sparking a needed fire, solving a problem (fire brings fresh insights), initiating a new course of study and creating a bold, 'hot-off-the-press' plan. The choice is ours.

Think - fresh start with Mercury themes - words, thinking, writing, learning, teaching, ideas, sibling issues, transportation, your local community. Also bringing fresh words and fresh thinking into your Aries house theme already smoking hot with the Sun and Venus. AND probably best of all with Mercury in Aries answering to Mars and Mars in Gemini answering to Mercury - both Mars and Mercury are empowered/stabilized.

In another week, big-daddy Saturn himself will trine the North Node and we'll be looking at the New Moon in Aries - the kickoff for a new lunar year with lots of positive energy - it's going to be BIG.

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | A New Year and intense January kicks off with a bang - fired up, passions return, report card time, seeing what's real, words that hurt, words that heal, walking our talk, relationships require adjustment, the first eclipse of the year gives us a glimpse of the big 2019/2020 Capricorn energies, buckle up buttercup

The Warrior by Cala-Rossini

This week is HUGE!

MONDAY  - Mars into Aries
WEDNESDAY - Sun conjunct Saturn
THURSDAY - Mercury square Chiron
FRIDAY - Mercury into Capricorn
SATURDAY - New Moon Solar Eclipse in CAPRICORN (15 degrees)
SUNDAY - Uranus stations direct (all systems GO)

I'll do some dailies where we talk about the Moons and the day-to-day stuff. January's astrology is intense. We have had more than one week lately where Friday's energies were a replay of the entire week, ie Friday morning was like Monday, Friday afternoon like Tuesday, etc.

This is kind of like January and the rest of 2019. This month is kind of a preview.

Like last year we start the year full steam ahead. You will want to get the new stuff started by March (on January 6th all the planets will be full steam ahead and we don't get that often).

I was going to get a 2019 post up this weekend, but Mars came along and punched me in the nose with a sinus infection/head cold thing.

The big story of 2019 is the drum beat/movement of Saturn toward Pluto in Capricorn - exact in January 2020. Five eclipses. The North Node in Cancer (where we are headed) - going home, being vulnerable, nurturing what matters, turning within. The South Node will be in Capricorn (and this is extremely important because we are going to have a big old stellium here in early 2020 and this is going to clobber us over the head if we don't do our 2019 work while that South Node is in Capricorn) - this is what we are releasing - fears, dead stuff we are clinging to, crumbling structure, limits, rules, authority, walls.

The two major planetary aspects that are repeated in 2019 will be Saturn sextile (opportunity) Neptune - this one is about making our dreams come true through hard work, getting a grip on addiction/escapism, making something lasting with our art (and other things, of course). The other is Jupiter square (challenge) Neptune - this one is about big promises that have no legs. We are going to have to be ready to cut our losses in 2019 quickly. You might already be thinking how will I know which dream to work hard on and which dream is made of hot air? Well, that is the process of the year. If this was easy, there would be no point in any of it. And yes, I know, I want it to be easy, too! I'm tired. And I'm out of the soft tissues with the soothing lotion and have moved on to the scratchy bathroom stuff. Winter isn't coming anymore. Winter is here. Hard work is the new black. But you already knew this and you already do this (trust me on that second part dear reader)!

There is nothing to fear here, but fear itself. It's just a long, winding road to figure that out!

Neither Mars nor Venus go retrograde in 2019 - this is good news. We have Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune - all strong and functioning the way they are made to function, in their home signs this year - that is good news, too. Time is on our side. Luck is on our side. This year is going to be intense - and so will the next few years folks, it's what we came here for! We are changing paradigms that are thousands of years old. It's time.

Back to this week -

On MONDAY night, Mars will finally drag his tired ass out of tired Pisces, taking that square to Chiron out-of-sign (thank you Universe!) and charging into his home sign of Aries. This is going to feel energizing. But could be so fast that it feels too energizing. We, and other people, might take this sudden burst of Martian energy too far, so if you plan to be out and about on New Year's Eve just stay alert and safe. No dark alleys looking for kittens. Protect your head. Yes, I said your head. You know the drill.

Aries is the initiator sign - the baby being birthed from the womb of Pisces. Think about how fearless a little baby ventures into life. We all have that power within us. Aries in our chart shows us where, in our journey, we have reached the space where we need to get braver.

This is not the energy of the general who plans the army's every move; not the guy who thinks strategically. This is the energy of the soldier who runs into battle with his sword held high (think Braveheart's Scottish warriors with this one). These guys may have been running to their deaths, but for their Aries energy this was more rapture than suicide.

Aries is the starter. They are the first one to shrug their shoulders and jump into the untested, murky water. If Aries jumps in (now they may or may not come out alive although they probably do more than any other sign) - they have evolved that Aries energy, regardless of the outcome (remember we are not here for outcomes we are here for experiences, Aries energy teaches this, too).

And this jumping in is what Aries is here to do over and over again.

Aries growth is always found after we do "that thing we are afraid to do".

Playing it safe will never work and the space Aries resides in our natal chart is the space where it will not work for us to play it safe either. What house does Aries rule in your natal chart? It is about to WAKE UP.

With this transition into the Aquarian Age we all get the opportunity to learn more about our relationship to fear (aren't we the lucky ducks?).

Mars move home to Aries really kicks off 2019.

Just keep in mind we are still a few days from the New Moon and moving into eclipse season which is going to shift a whole lot of our plans. Saturn isn't about rushing and neither is Capricorn. We can catch our breath, take stock of where we are and what we have (probably more than we think we do) before starting this new chapter. The urge to move is going to be strong though and I don't easily discount our instincts! But check tomorrow's astrology first ....

On WEDNESDAY, we have our annual Sun/Saturn conjunction. Report card time. Once a year these big guys meet up and we get to see clearly what is really happening in our world and in the collective.

A light (the Sun) is thrown on reality (Saturn). Here is where we see the consequences of our actions.

If things are not going well, if stuff is falling apart, if we are beating our head against the wall (it's not a coincidence the wall is playing such a big part in U.S. politics right now)- these are all signs we need to change direction.

If things are going well, if we have achieved something, there will be rewards now for a job well done.

With Saturn (hard work, commitment, time, responsibility) so close to the Sun (our life force) there will be limits to whatever we are dealing with.

The good news, if things are not going well, is that changes made now can smoothly and simply move us toward different timelines. We are at ground zero.

A new semester always starts after report cards are given out. We all get a fresh start. We don't get a do-over though. That report card is on its way home to Dad. Doing the same thing we did before will not work.

Doing something new gives the energies at play something to work with!

Our muses grow tired of seeing us bang our heads against the wall, too. They whisper to us to go outside and shovel the snow (stretched muscles create the space for us to stretch ourselves in other ways, too).

I was born during one of these Saturn/Sun conjunctions (I have these planets within 1 degree) so can't really feel this energy clearly because I am always feeling it - it's background noise and probably a bit like carrying a stern father around in my head. And yes, he sounds like Dumbledore and likes to be called "Albie" ... but only by me.

This is a good time to care for the basic structures of our life - the stuff that supports us.

We are living in a time of disintegrating safety nets, but there are things we can do to give ourselves a steadier ground to walk on. It could be as simple as cleaning our house and putting in place sustainable systems to keep it clean. The same could be said about our money/resources.

On THURSDAY, Mercury is going to square wounded healer Chiron on his/her way out of Sagittarius. This could be about painful conversations. Information that hurts. Painful sibling situations. She is going to move right into a trine to Uranus - and Uranus is sitting very strong and very still now. So something different will be our way through this. We might feel alone. We might need to be brave. Mars is in Aries and Uranus is answering to a strong Mars now. And Mercury will immediately change signs, so whatever this in - we move on in a sober manner.

On FRIDAY, Mercury moves into Capricorn. Capricorn is a serious sign. It rules the dead of winter and that indomitable mountain goat who just puts one foot in front of the other until he reaches the summit.

With Mercury (thoughts, communication, ideas) moving into Capricorn today, our words will want to be taken seriously. Communications will be fact-checked. Sentences will be properly punctuated and spell checkers will be applied. Ideas will be more traditional. Words that are focused and precise are most effective now.

Traditional stories and songs will resonate.

This isn't Mercury's favorite place to hang out. He prefers words be fast and flexible and Capricorn is the opposite of this. Words are solid and stable here. Flowery language isn't welcome. We mean what we say and we say what we mean.

When we take our words and ideas seriously other people will, too. Contracts inked and promises made during this transit (Mercury will be in Capricorn until January 24th) will be long lasting, so let's be certain we want them to be. Write those resolutions. Make that bucket list. Start that book.

Yes, Eclipse season is going to mess with our plans. It is still worth taking the time to get things down on paper now though.

On SATURDAY we have the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Capricorn. This is foreshadowing the entire year and January 2020 and needs its own BIG post by sign. Back with that.

xo all

There is a beautiful, and gentle, Grand Water Trine between our Scorpio (Venus), Pisces (Chiron) and Cancer (North Node) houses this week that we will talk about in the dailies, too, when we look at the Moon!

weekly astrology forecast | March 28th - April 3rd, 2022 - financial and relationship reality checks, changes needed before we can move forward, health news, a brave new lunar year

A BIG, busy week with all the inner planets active. Multiple Chiron aspects, so on a practical level, likely lots of health stuff/doctor's visits coming up for people.

We start the week with a Balsamic Moon - time to tie up loose ends, rest when we can, conserve our energy (we will need it next week!). The New Moon on Friday will be pushing us to START, but with Saturn straight ahead of us next week, it will be best to proceed with a bit of caution. Yes, we want to be initiating/taking action/setting goals/making plans, but we also need to see that REALITY CHECK dead straight ahead.

And, speaking of reality checks we have one this week, too, in terms of what we can afford.

Can we afford to buy this/pay this? Can we afford not to? Can we afford to stay in this relationship/group? Can we afford to leave?

With Venus meeting Saturn on Monday, these things are already in play.

MONDAY - Venus conjuncts Saturn and Juno, Neptune sextiles North Node

WEDNESDAY - Venus squares North Node

FRIDAY - New Moon in Aries, Sun conjunct Chiron

SATURDAY - Mercury conjunct Chiron, Sun conjunct Mercury

On MONDAY - Venus, at 21 degrees Aquarius meets Juno and Saturn while Neptune, at 23 degrees Pisces sextiles the North Node in Taurus and trines the South Node

The Venus/Juno/Saturn speaks of relationship commitments. Signing on the dotted line. Formalizing things. This isn't about losing ourselves here because in Aquarius, one plus one definitely makes two. This also speaks of the limits/rules we have to abide by to be part of a group situation. Is a bad deal better than no deal? Well, that's up to us (and this may not be a bad deal). This transit is good for a Venusian person to find a mentor, a Saturnian person to find a muse. For May/December relationships although this could be more about friendship or our goals than romance, although romances will be serious stuff.

(Juno was Ukraine in our Goddess Wars and Saturn was Russia in the invasion chart and here comes Venus - peace/balance/cooperation - prayers they can detach from their egos and iron something out with this)

Venus has been on the road to Saturn for months and, was answering to Saturn for months in Capricorn. We can't say we weren't warned! Financial road blocks/stop signs/reality checks. Saturn can show us where we don't have enough. Bring up old, ancestral survival fears. We might be feeling lonely within detached relationships or group situations or maybe like we have to earn love. This is a time for balancing what we need and what we have or what we need and what we want. Sometimes Venus/Saturn contacts can just makes us feel old or show us where we need to set firm boundaries/limits. Are we making too many compromises to stay safe, driven by fear of what we want to avoid, and not by what we actually want? What happens with this conjunction is going to depend on what we have changed/worked through with our financial situation and/or relationships since November when Venus first went into Capricorn and started answering to Saturn. If, we have made adjustments, necessary changes and/or figured out what we can live with, this conjunction now doesn't have to be a challenging thing. Venus and Saturn are old friends, can make this one work. If this does show up as a big thing (bill that can't be paid, sacrificial relationship, etc), that square to the Nodes tomorrow, tells us we have to make a CHANGE.

At the same time Neptune sextiling/trining the Nodes speaks of an easy release/drifting away from what is no longer needed or a slippery slide into the past/our current stuck-ness. Watch for too much nostalgia, incapacitating compassion/sacrifice, old addictions, compulsions, obsessions that sneak back in because they are just too damn familiar. To use the North Node sextile we have to be more conscious - this is an opportunistic move toward something more healthy, stable, NEW. Keep in mind Venus RULES the North Node, so this is probably all part of the same thing as the Venus/Juno/Saturn. Lean into Taurus - the NEW small/slow growth, gratitude, patience, making things more beautiful/comfortable/simple. The earth signs are telling us to be practical AND Neptune in Pisces pulls in our dreams, our ancestral benefits/gifts.

On WEDNESDAY - Venus, at 23 degrees Aquarius, squares the Nodes of Fate

Tension/frustration - a need to change/adjust. A crossroad/decision point. Relationship, financial, self-esteem, values issues - we are confronted by what isn't working/where the numbers don't add up. This is all part of yesterday's Venus/Saturn reality check. With the South Node in Scorpio we want to be releasing power struggles, debt, complicated third party situations. Something needs to change before we can move forward into something more simple, sustaining. Where is the NEW growth? Maybe here is where a change is FORCED and we are reacting. Something needs to change before we can get past this. Often it is our mindset. Maybe it is a situation/relationship. Squares motivate action - what are we going to do about this? Keep in mind, Venus RULES the North Node, so the square's tension is lessened as we move toward that Taurus house/theme.

On FRIDAY - the Moon meets the Sun, giving us this month's New Moon; our annual New Moon in Aries kicking off a new lunar year. The Sun/Moon meet Chiron.

Here is a new start, time to be brave. There is alot of exhausting/illusive energy out there, and we really need this New Moon to FOCUS us in on one new thing. This new start may come on the heels of some painful news, but will also bring healing as we take action. Keep in mind, this is Aries, so we are probably needing to take initiative here/do it ourselves. Note - the ruler of this Moon, Mars, is on a collision course with Saturn next week, so we will need to be practical, whatever is starting will need patience/hard work and we can run things into a ditch or a brick wall if we rush into something too fast and too hard. That Saturn up ahead can also speak of following rules, limits, pulling in an older person/expert. We are starting a new journey and Aries pushes the gas pedal, but we can see that policeman in the distance with his flashing lights and ticket book. Forewarned is forearmed. The Aries New Moon launches the New Lunar Year, so we can see we have some hurting, some healing, some starts and stops ahead of us. AND I am sure there will be much more to see when we unpack this chart. This will have its own BIG post later in the week and there is a bit more about it in the monthly HERE. See April 1st.

On SATURDAY - Mercury, at 12 degrees Aries meets up with Chiron while the Sun, at 13 degrees Aries meets Mercury

Words/conversation/information is sharp, pointed, maybe PAINFUL. We could be embarrassed/made to feel vulnerable. Health news comes in and we know what to do with it. This can be a good time to speak up about what hurts. The pain doesn't disappear when we give it a voice because Chironic wounds are old/ancestral and are not 'poof' gone, BUT dealing with them/sometimes learning to live with them and forgiving ourselves can help heal very old situations (we are doing nothing less than healing the wounded masculine here - there is a reason Chiron spends more time in Aries than any other sign). The good news with Aries is whatever this is, even with the spotlight on the situation, the world/life can move on quickly. Health situations can get fast answers. At the same time, and this is likely all part of the same thing, the Sun meets up with Mercury. So Mercury meets Chiron and then is illuminated by the Sun/blown out. This is information/a conversation coming to light, takes us back to late January, so something from then is culminating now. Pay attention, although with Chiron this isn't something we are likely to miss .... healing very old wounds is what this April is made for. Chin up, we've got this thing.

We can see this week looks somewhat challenging and most of the aspects are repeating the same themes. Luckily the Moons look pretty good until we get to a Pluto square on Saturday (power struggle, hard choice, difficult ending). We still have alot of Pisces - will need extra sleep, ways to relax, but this additional fire/Aries will keep us from dreaming our days away/feeling the collective pain too strongly and also fire us up to DO something with those dreams/pull our energy back to ourselves. There is alot of Aquarius energy, too, now, so a focus on the future, group situations, a need to take care of our nervous system and the multiple planets in Aries will help us initiate/be sharp/give us more energy, but also make everyone more easy to anger and more likely to act impulsively - so stay frosty.

Channel the Aqua chill as needed.

SATURDAY - Jupiter conjuncts Pluto (24 degrees Capricorn)
TUESDAY - Full Moon/Super Moon in Libra (18 degrees), Mars squares Uranus, Mercury sextiles Jupiter and Pluto
WEDNESDAY - Mercury squares Galactic Center, Mars sextile Chiron
FRIDAY - Venus sextiles Chiron and enters her shadow degrees for her upcoming retrograde
SATURDAY - Mercury into Aries
SUNDAY - Mercury squares the Nodes of Fate

We are living through challenging times as we shift from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius. Many have been sent to their rooms for a much needed time out, others called to the 'front-line' and still others are challenged with illness or the illness of someone they love.

Collectively awakened to the importance of home and family and our inner world (that Cancer North Node!) and the need for big, structural changes to the work side of our lives, our outer world and ambitions/those bright, shiny rewards we have spent so much time chasing that don't look quite so shiny these days (that Capricorn South Node).

All of us charged with gently working through our FEAR. Unraveling lifetimes of "death anxiety", so the DNA codes we were born with and will need for this New Age can wake the hell up!

Even as Jupiter/Pluto's meeting on Saturday can amplify these "dark night of the soul" energies, Jupiter/Pluto also gives us the confidence and courage (and the kind of 'luck' available when these courage/confidence energies are accessed) to handle these extraordinarily transformational changes.

This is another BIG WEEK with multiple twists and turns.

BEGINNING OF THE WEEK

We start the week with the powerhouse energies of the first of three (June, November) Jupiter/Pluto conjunctions this year.

I am not going to sugar-coat it - the planet of expansion (Jupiter) passing over the planet of death (Pluto), could make things more challenging (this conjunction happened during the second wave of the Spanish Flu, but this was during a World War when people were already stressed and weakened), BUT keep in mind this aspect is already waning (weakening/separating). It is strongest as it builds and when exact (Saturday night EDT) and we start this week with it already waning, so that is good. They will meet again HERE during their retrogrades over the summer, so we are going to come back to this point again. Something was missed. And then they will meet for a final time on the January Pluto/Saturn degree in November. Then they are done. This doesn't mean we will be where we are now until then, but it does tell us this is part of a longer story-line ...

For now check in on the news as you need to, but don't obsess with it. Keep in mind always with Jupiter his ability to make things seem bigger than they actually are ...

We have a Super Moon/Full Moon in partnership/balance/fairness focused Libra. The Moon is squaring the Cappy energies (that Jupiter/Pluto) and pulls our focus to how everything going on is impacting our relationships with other people, our sense of what is fair, our ability to maintain our balance.

Full Moon post to follow.

At the same time Mars (in future focused Aquarius now) moves into his square with Uranus - who is busy shaking up our money, resources, values, self-esteem. This is tension/frustration. Abrupt action. Breaks-ups. Breakdowns. Breakthroughs. Squares require adjustment. If we are making some abrupt/new move we are going to need to think about how this will impact our finances and resources.

(our last Full Moon was that huge Full Moon in Virgo conjunct Neptune, with Mercury stationing direct and Venus conjunct Uranus - this really PUSHED forward this "doomsday" chapter - HERE is the post about that - at least that Full Moon is in our rear-view mirror now!)

MIDDLE OF THE WEEK

Mercury (at the end of Pisces now) is going to square the Galactic Center (our homing signal/center of creation/black hole in the middle of our Milky Way Galaxy). He/she is given an adjustment to the story; an edit to this chapter. And keep in mind Mercury was at the "time runs out/here is the death that was postponed" palaver back in January. AND he/she has been back and forth in Pisces, the sign that rules viruses - since February 3rd!

At the same time Mars (in future, group and tech focused Aquarius) sextiles (opportunity) healing Chiron. This takes the edge off the tension we had with those unexpected challenges with Uranus earlier in the week. New actions focused on the future are healing. We help ourselves by helping others. We are healing very old, very deep ancestral wounds by bravely moving into the future!

END OF THE WEEK

Venus (ruler of that Super Libra Full Moon and ruler of our relationships, love, money, our values, resources and self-esteem) starts walking the degrees in Gemini she will walk two more times. When she wraps up her retrograde and shadow period in August we will be back HERE. So, pay attention to what is happening now. What house does Gemini rule in your natal chart? What is the 'theme' of that house? We all have alot of work to do HERE.

She, like Mars yesterday, but from a different space in our chart, sextiles Chiron. More healing opportunities - this time through different choices, flexibility, loving something else, our local community, our siblings, humor, words, keeping things light. It is good news for us she has this sextile at the start of her shadow period!

We'll talk more about this in the dailies.

Now, it's Mercury's turn to finally bust a move as he swims out of Pisces and into Aries. BOOM. THIS MATTERS.

Remember she/he was part of January's Pluto/Saturn conjunction. She has been back and forth through virus-ruling Pisces for many weeks because of her retrograde (and remember Mercury is not only the messenger God but also the trickster God).

She has just squared the Galactic Center picking up a need to adjust her message.

So now in Aries - a cardinal sign demanding initiative/a fresh start - new information comes in.

Our perspective shifts.

A new spell is being woven with new words.

As she moves into Aries and crosses the Aries point - something here is collectively/universally noticed.

Our attention goes HERE.

New solutions. Fresh conversations. Words will be faster and more impulsively stated. Assertive language.

I am thinking and hoping, because the astrology points in multiple ways (to me) as Mercury being an important driver of this pandemic (and the death anxiety) we will reach an important pivot point at the end of this week/beginning of next week when Mercury enters Aries.

Mercury's story-line includes - his participation in January's Pluto/Saturn conjunction, his long journey since then through watery Pisces where he met Pisces ruler Neptune three times (the sign and planet that rules viruses, pandemics, foggy thinking and a space where we can lose all connection with outcomes), his rulership of Virgo - the sign of our health and that BIG Full Moon last month AND Mercury's rulership of communication, the transportation of everything from ideas/information to toilet paper and even to things like our little corona fellow. In Pisces, he isn't known for his sharp thinking. Ask a Mercury in Pisces person for some number related information and, unless they have some strong earth in their charts, you are more likely to hear about how they "feel" about the numbers/facts.

And that Cappy pile-up (and the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction) were and are opposing the United States natal Mercury (in emotional Cancer), so the United States news and information in particular has been especially slippery and de-stabilizing. We've been down the rabbit-hole with this one!

Finally Mercury (in fiery and impulsive Aries) squares the North and South Nodes.

Big picture - we are in the process of incredible inner change. An emotional reset in order to build a brand-new world that works for all of us - and this includes the animals and the Earth. It looks like the changes are happening outside us/forced upon us - and they are, but only because the changes within us are calling them into activation.

If we think of all the ways this "time runs out" thing could be playing out - we are probably having a best case scenario even though it feels like a worst-case scenario. With Uranus in Taurus - the ways we make money, the resources we have, our values - all of this is in line for major resets. This was already going to happen in very big and unexpected ways without this pandemic.

And keep in mind the way the energies worked out in January when we got a taste of them through Trump's impeachment/the Iran situation with the killing of the general and then Iran's follow-up bombing - things felt like life and death (in Trump's case felt like life and death to him) and some people did die, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The situations kind of fizzled out, although they didn't exactly resolve and still kind of hang over our heads. In the case of the virus we had wily Mercury - never doubt the power of our closest planet - picking up that story-line and running with it, so let's see what happens when he gets out of the Pisces soup and into Aries at the end of this week.

And again we'll see what happens when Mars (because he lit the fuse when he got into Capricorn) untangles himself from Saturn and gets out of Aquarius in the middle of May.

There are many, many pivot points ahead for us, so don't make yourself crazy looking too far ahead right now.

The time-out caused by this "time runs out" pandemic (as horrific as the pandemic itself has been for some people and as much havoc as this is going to cause financially going forward), has been a great salve to planet Earth. Keep in mind Ceres (Mother Nature - that mama-bear) was at that palaver in January, too. Maybe some of these changes forced upon us - working at home, less travel, less consumerism, more electronic connections, etc - are some of what is needed to keep this many billion people (and maybe in a sense we are like a virus to the planet) alive and take care of our beautiful world, too. Momentary, fake fixes are not an option.

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of April 13th 2020 - power struggles, resistance, proof, words hurt, words heal, the end of the week gets better - hang in there

https://www.deviantart.com/oprisco/art/--750519060

There is lots of Aries energy this week, folks - which means action, initiative, passion, impulsivity, anger, relationship challenges, opportunities to stand up and opportunities to stand alone.

The Sun is squaring off with that January activation point now, currently the home of some powerful players - when people tell us to stay "safe" we can add "and sane" - it seems four letter "S" words are our friend now.

TUESDAY - Sun squares Pluto
WEDNESDAY - Sun squares Jupiter, Mercury conjuncts Chiron
SATURDAY - Mercury sextiles Venus, Mercury sextiles Mars

BEGINNING/MIDDLE OF THE WEEK

We start the week with the Moon moving into sober Capricorn. This can sometimes feel heavy/depressing anyway, focus us on "winter"/what we don't have, and now adds to the pressure of the Capricorn planets.

We are nurtured by stepping into our responsibilities, work, planning, limits, setting down rules. Taking care of business. Money in the bank and food in the cupboard - we are nurtured by the stuff we have earned.

The Sun (almost through his Aries journey) will square Pluto and then Jupiter. He is also squaring the activation point of January's mega Cappy pow-wow energies. At the same time Mercury is meeting up with hurting/healing Chiron.

This stuff isn't for sissies.

The solar squares are magnified pressure/power/fear.

Something is illuminated. PROOF of what the Jupiter/Pluto 2020 storyline is giving us.

(this PROOF will be different things to different people - some will see the dry "facts" we are provided with as "truth", others will see conspiracy theories actualized or dissolved and others will see the light they are holding "the positive in what is happening" spotlighted in deeper ways - there are not any right or wrong answers here - this is a process and not a test - everyone is needed and playing an important role now

Squares are tension/frustration. Aries/Capricorn is our individual action/passion/purpose vs authority/knowledge that our personal power can be stripped away from us.

Power struggles. Resistance. Tangles with authority will most likely not go our way.

Keep in mind Pluto is always death/rebirth - transformation through the 'dark night of the soul'. We evolve through loss - merging/purging. There isn't any way to hurry this stuff along or away. It just is. Pushing/manipulating as a way to hang onto something that is "dead" (ie no prana, no breath, no life-force) creates tension/frustration.

Avoid impulsive situations where you can be manipulated and check yourself before using these dark powers.

Know with these energies triggering, arguably, the biggest activation point of our lifetimes -

we need to be strong and brave because we are going to have to face the dark/our fears/any spaces that lack love.

(I have had a few emails from people asking if the astrology looks like this upside down world we are living in is a conspiracy. Life on planet Earth doesn't allow us to have all the answers. Are there illusions/power plays/manipulations here? Undoubtedly. But, keep in mind, this is still a free-will planet and a space of polarity. We can't always control what happens to us, but we do get to control how we respond. We can choose our focus. There are always going to be times when the dark/the fear (because our operating system is really only love and lack of love/fear) gets to play its hand. Just keep in mind, these are transits, ie transitory. We are forever, but these circumstances aren't. We are co-creating a totally different world - maybe what looks harsh and hard is actually the gentlest way to get us there.)

Aries squares can stimulate situations where we are forced to step up and assert ourselves.

At the same time we have Mercury (in Aries now) meeting hurting/healing Chiron.

Sharp/impulsive language can activate our deepest wounds and insecurities.

Although painful, there are words that probably need to be said/heard. Conversations that need to happen. Information that needs to be looked at.

For some people Mercury will trigger hurting/healing through a sibling/local community or transportation situation.

Still, check your language. Mercury in Aries can use his/her words as weapons. Be thoughtful (ie thinking about what you are saying and the way you are saying it).

Chiron in Aries forms a natural opposition to Libra (and this is part of the Aries/Libra polarity dance) - this would be a time when the other people in our lives, and the people we meet, who have the energetic frequencies that can easily re-wound us (trigger our early wounding/past life wounds/familial karma), will do just that.

Also, keep in mind with Chiron in Aries - no one is coming along to save us. As the Hopi would say - we are the ones we have been waiting for.

We are going to have to pull our own fat asses out of this well.

When we are the one being triggered (and we will know we are being triggered because our emotions will be out of proportion to what is being said) we can step back a little - that Mars in Aquarius - and think about why this triggering in us.

Why are we so mad/hurt about these words?

We can have compassion for ourselves. Know we are safe/loved/worthy. Know this is just what we needed to hear right now to see what we need to see/feel what we need to feel.

As we heal ourselves we heal everyone else, too.

At the same time Venus (who is now walking degrees in Gemini she will walk two more times) makes her first of three sextiles (opportunities) to Black Moon Lilith - right now at 8 degrees Aries. Maybe we are attracted to something outside the box now. Something taboo. This is a long story-line that takes us into the end of July. With Venus in Gemini, our values are changing. Again there is the need to bring everyone, and every part of ourselves, to the table this year.

By the middle of the week the Moon will make her way into Aquarius (with so much going on at the end of Cappy/beginning of Aquarius, she avoids any void and we don't get any void Moons until Friday which is unusual). We can emotionally take a step back to process what is going on.

Now we are nurtured through our groups, through the goals that bring us into connection with other people, by allowing our freak-flag to fly, by the new and unusual, through technology and Aquarian/Uranian people. We will talk about the Moon more in the dailies.

END OF THE WEEK

The end of the week looks BETTER. The Moon moves into nostalgic, emotional, intuitive and imaginative Pisces. We are nurtured through art, music, the past, our ancestors, what is behind us, stuff we can't touch, water, actual Pisces/Neptunian people, maybe nurtured through our rose-colored glasses, but sometimes we need rose-colored glasses and our masks are fogging our glasses up anyway.

Mercury (almost to the middle of Aries - she is flying, people!) sextiles both Venus (in Gemini) and Mars (in Aquarius). Our words/conversations/information are now HELPING us attract and take action on what we want.

There is flow. There are opportunities here.

Back with the big picture timelines - which I know I have been promising for-evah - and the dailies!

deep iN THE ECLIPSE SPIN CYCLE now .... mercury stations retrograde - slow down, venus catches up with neptune and then moves into aries, the sun meets the north node shining a light on a new, more authentic path forward

the meaning of the astrology of the New Moon in Aries | March 21, 2023 - ain't no turning back now ....

If you are here, alive on this planet right now, and I assume you are if you are reading this, although some days I wonder about all of us :) well, we are IN IT.

Things are LIT as the kids say. Or does everyone say this now? I need to keep up.

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 1:22PM EDT the Aries Moon meets up with the Aries Sun at 0 degrees launching a new lunar month and year. This is impulsive, fiery energy.

Years ago I heard an astrologer say that for Aries, life is something like, "Ready. FIRE! Aim.".  And, yes, this is what we need to be cautious of here, BUT not so cautious that we don't make a move, take a risk/the call/a chance.

Aries says speak up, do something, it's GO TIME, ready or not.

Let's unpack the chart!

The New Moon meets the Sun at 0 degrees Aries. The Moon opposes a retrograde Ceres in Libra EXACT. The Moon sextiles Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon is inconjunct Saturn in Pisces. The Moon squares Mars - ruler of Aries and ruler of this lunation. Mars is conjunct asteroid Chaos EXACT. Mars squares Ceres. Mars trines Saturn (applying) and squares Neptune (separating). Venus is conjunct the North Node in Taurus and also conjunct Juno EXACT. Jupiter is inconjunct Uranus EXACT.

The Moon meets the Sun at 0 degrees Aries. We are starting from the very beginning with something. 0 degrees Aries is called an Aries point - first degree of a cardinal sign. Our collective attention is together, so often this means big things are happening in the world. An Aries point New Moon pretty much assures collective events will be important.

As with all New Moons, the skies are dark. The seed goes into the ground. The sperm goes into the egg. The start is in the dark. We can't see what is happening/where this is going. In fiery Aries, starts can be fast, impulsive, passionate. Things can come up quickly and we are going to WANT TO RESPOND. What are you feeling fired up about? Head in that direction. With the Sun and Moon together our life force/energy and our emotions are on the same page. Our conscious and unconscious in the same space/portal. Conjunct planets initiate new beginnings. In Aries, it is no less than our very IDENTITY that is impacted - we are BECOMING SOMEONE NEW.

The New Moon opposes Ceres retrograde in Libra. This is our needs/wants vs those of our partners.

Since this is exact here we are definitely needing to deal with this with whatever is starting. Oppositions can bring endings/culminations. For something to start, something else needs to end. This might speak of a relationship ending or the need to correct some kind of imbalance in our life. With Ceres here, this could be about a nurturing or caregiver situation, child/parent for example, and something NEW comes along that requires us to rethink/re-examine/re-prioritize the care we are putting into someone/something, so we can put more care into this NEW thing or ourselves.

Since Ceres rules the seasons of our life and things outside our control, this might be about a "change of life" situation that closes one door, our foot in the door will only get crushed - it's closing -  and then the New Moon opens another.

(I know about this crushed thing from experience. I was in Florida for a few days last week. I will tell you guys all about it in a later post. I was getting dropped off at the airport and I went to stop the car door from closing, I think, wth I was doing is kind of unclear at this point, but I was standing outside the car with my hand on the door.  I managed to totally close the door on my thumb. The door was closed flush with the car and my thumb was in the door. Crushed. I had to open the door with my other hand and I was thinking OMG I just broke/crushed my thumb, MY RIGHT THUMB, and my trip is canceled. But, luckily for me, and my right thumb, they must make these car doors with more cushioning these days because it wasn't broken. It was flattened, then swollen, cut up and throbbing, of course and  I had to sneak some contraband ice - although it's a solid not a liquid anyway, or that was what I was going to say if caught - onto the plane and then proceeded to ice it for about a steady 24 hours. It's still a little wonky and swollen, but doesn't hurt and will be ok - my life flashed before my eyes though .... maybe I have a strong right thumb from holding cans of propane to braze, like I think, or maybe, as hubs says, I had my hand in exactly the best spot, if there is a best spot for such thing, where the door curves, to prevent total demolition. Either way that was number 1 of about 100 surprising things from my trip, I will tell you guys about :)

The New Moon's sextile (creative opportunity) to Pluto catches Saturn, ruler of Pluto right now, at the mid-point. With Saturn freshly minted in Pisces and in this awkwardness with the New Moon, the materialization of solid things will not be a straight line. But, since he rules that sextile I am thinking some roadblocks/limits will end up being a 'blessing in disguise' kind of thing. Note this aspect is separating/has somehow already happened.

Venus and Juno are tightly conjunct and have just passed over the North Node and opposed the South Node.

THIS is the future. Right here. Right NOW. The one we have attracted by focusing on what we TRULY VALUE (or not). By being slow and steady (or not). By seeking moderation and quality (or not). By leaning into something more simple and stable (or not). By having mutual respect and dignity within our relationships (or not).

Keep in mind conjunctions start new chapters which, of course, unfold from the preceding chapter. Note Juno is retrograde and about to back into Virgo when she will be all about fixing the relationship stuff that isn't working (or ultimately forgetting/releasing what isn't fixable as she opposes Saturn at some point not too far from now).

Venus/Juno are opposing the South Node. Oppositions are endings and the opposition to the South Node is kind of echoing Ceres opposition to the New Moon. Something needs to be released here to free us up.

Scorpian "somethings" can be about complicated entanglements, third party situations, debt, compulsions, manipulations - a loss of power in some area of life might be expected/need to happen in order for us to focus on the new seeds in the ground, which, keep in mind, we can't really even see yet with these dark skies, so might not even seem worth it at this point. The stars say otherwise.

Mars has recently started covering new degrees in Gemini, the sign he has been back-and-forth in since August. This is important to notice. Also he is in a mutual reception - for a VERY BRIEF PERIOD OF TIME THAT INCLUDES THIS NEW MOON ACTIVATION - with Mercury in Aries. This is good news. Mars - as us - is covering new ground and can get to Aries (back to himself) through Mercury. Mercurian pathways include our thinking, ideas, conversations, information, tech, siblings, transportation. This is a better position than Mars, as us, was in even a week ago, so keep that in mind, We aren't pulling the Mars crap we have been dealing with FOR MONTHS into this New Moon fresh start.

Mars is in a complicated position though and he rules this New Moon.

He is still out-of-bounds/not playing by the Sun's rules. This might sound like a good thing if you are feeling somewhat rebellious, but it usually isn't. He forms a T-Square with the New Moon/Sun, although out of sign and it will never perfect, so it's aggravating and we can't get past it, because it's not really even there. We might in some way, and this isn't always a bad thing, feel pushed into both the fiery fresh start in Aries and the Libran ending/conclusion. His smooth and stabilizing trine to Saturn does perfect and will reach perfection (exactness) on March 30th. This is our actions harmonizing with the rules/authority/structure, or our dreams, and will be Cancer/Pisces so maybe more emotionally and intuitively stabilizing than rock solid, but that's ok. It will feel good.

Mars is also EXACTLY conjunct asteroid Chaos.

Yes, I know, so, that doesn't sound good and is kind of re-emphasizing Mars being out of bound and the fact Pluto is about to go into Aquarius and start answering to chaotic Uranus. Chaos would likely indicate a period of doubt, overwhelm and confusion. This New Moon event catalyzing chaos isn't really surprising with everything going on in the world right now.

For us, personally, anytime we have an Aries New Moon, because Aries is the first sign and doesn't know what it doesn't know - we are going to have to deal with some chaos. We are going to need to be brave, and Aries IS brave, so there we go. We might want to turn around and go backward, but with so many planets about to change signs within just a couple days there is no way this is going to work - except maybe the Ceres/Libra relationship/nurturing/change of life thing - and even that we may have to just throw up our hands at some point.

There is no point looking backward because there is nothing back there for us anymore. This will likely be brought home to us over the next month.

Mars sits at 28 degrees Gemini during the New Moon which is the home of fixed star Polaris. Polaris is also called the North Star (if you were standing at the North Pole it would be directly over your head) and is located at the tip of the tail of the small bear and has been used as a navigational star for centuries. This is probably the star we were wishing upon as children, so I like to think it carries the energy of millions of childhood wishes (one of the reasons I named my lockets, Polarity).

Let's think of it like that ...

To bottom line this New Moon in Aries - we get the energy for a fiery, bold, brave NEW START likely focused on ourselves. We are at the very, very beginning of something. We can't see where this going and things will be subject to change. Chaos is likely. We don't know what we don't know, so we need to stay flexible. If we are still exhausted from all the Pisces we have been dealing with, I know I am, well, we don't have to run a marathon here and all this Aries is designed to WAKE US UP - ie motivate us/aggravate us/spur us to action anyway.

The price of admission, yes, there is a cover charge to open this new door, is the ending of an imbalanced nurturing situation or relationship that needs to culminate or be scaled back to allow this New Moon energy the fertile ground it needs to flourish (Ceres back into Virgo will help us fix it or forget it).

Keep in mind - there is an unusual and potent second New Moon in Aries - which is an Eclipse - in about a month, so there are some 'second chance' vibes in play, although the world is going to be a very different place by then, being that Pluto will have changed signs for the first time since 2008 and Mars, ruler of this lunation, will have moved on, too.

What are you going to do proactively with this energy?

Start with your affirmations. They will help you get clear about what you want/what you need to do. I'm thinking somewhere around 4PM EDT on the 22nd as the Moon applies to her conjunction with Jupiter and sextile to Mars. The morning of the 23rd is good, too.

If we chart the course of the Moon in Aries we will see the Moon meets the Sun, then Mercury, then Chiron, then Jupiter, then goes void off a sextile to Mars (remember that square we start with to Mars is out-of-sign), so as we move through the New Moon cycle we move into that creative opportunity/sextile with Mars.

Since the Sun and Moon are together we can chart this New Moon through the Sun, too. The Moon does everything within a couple days and then the Sun : meets the Moon on March 21st (New Moon), the Sun won't catch up with Mercury because Mercury is FLYING (we will be, too), meets Chiron on April 5th (light on a wound/vulnerability), meets Jupiter on APRIL 11th (Venus will also be trining Pluto this day, mark your calendars, this is about luck, faith, love, power), the Sun won't sextile Mars because Mars will also have moved on. So the solar story from this New Moon ends with that conjunction with Jupiter. Sun/Jupiter is hopeful, lucky, expansive energy.

So we have a good closing aspect for the Moon and a good closing aspect for the Sun - this is always a good sign and, I think, a good place for me to stop :)

New Moon Affirmations

This New Moon is an excellent time for energetic support to make changes with things ruled by Aries (and your natal/progressed Aries house themes) - the head (headaches, acne, eyes, brain), the overall physical self, exploration, initiative, courage, leadership, strength, stubbornness, impulsiveness, temper tantrums, anger, stress from inaction/worry - what do we need more of in our lives, what are we needing to release.

AFFIRMATION TIPS: get into a calm, centered frame of mind - always make affirmations from a  positive space (meaning both certain and upbeat) - write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud. With a fire New Moon maybe write your affirmations on strips of paper and burn them. Now release your attention from these things knowing that your intention is known

Know these things are already yours

Back with the Pluto into Aquarius world changes post I have been procrastinating .. oh my

weekly astrology forecast | January 9th - January 15th, 2023 - gathering our momentum, painful words, difficult choices, opportunities to heal and lean into the new

Full Moon in Aries | October 9, 2022 - restoring balance to relationships that have run off course, ending toxic connections & behaviors, last Full Moon before Eclipses

On Sunday, October 9th, at 4:54PM EDT, the Aries Moon moves into an exact opposition with the Libra Sun giving us this month's Full Moon - our annual Full Moon in Aries.

The Full Moon is always a time of tension (there is something to all that howling after all) - it's a time of Sun opposite Moon. Oppositions are pretty much just what they sound like. This one is in the "me vs we" polarity of the Aries/Libra axis.

This is the culmination of the Aries New Moon that launched the lunar year back in April, so maybe something from that time is finishing up/becoming illuminated/peaking.

Feels like years ago, doesn't it? I think I am aging in dog years now. Woof. At the Full Moon things peak, culminate or come to light. Results are delivered. Stuff finishes up. And this is our last Full Moon before Eclipse season, so is MEGA important.

Let's unpack the chart!

The Moon opposes the Libra Sun from 16 degrees Aries. The Moon is conjunct Chiron, The Sun is conjunct Venus (the Moon opposes) and answering to Venus, strong in her home sign of Libra. The Moon sextiles Saturn. The Sun trines. Uranus squares Saturn (exact by degree). Mars, the ruler of this lunation is at the 'power' degree of 22 in Gemini and answering to Mercury, recently direct in his home sign of Virgo. Mars trines Saturn (Grand Air Trine with Mars, Saturn and the Sun) and squares Neptune. The Moon/Sun are T-Squaring Black Moon Lilith in Cancer.

The Moon is conjunct Chiron. This aspect is separating/has already happened. Is still in play. So, just before the Moon reaches her fullness in Aries, she passes over Chiron/merges with Chiron (the Sun opposed Chiron on Friday). This makes this Moon extremely SENSITIVE. And this is Aries, an uncomfortable space for sensitivity. The Aries Moon is a warrior/protector not so much given to traditional nurturing or sentimentality. This is the mother who wants her children to be strong and independent. She doesn't coddle.

This conjunction can bring up emotional wounds. Mother wounds. Painful female relationships. Maybe we are feeling the ways we don't fit in or how we don't "look" the way we want to look. With the Sun in projecting Libra we could be feeling the way someone else is hurting or the way they don't fit in. Fears around not being able to take care of ourselves or be ourselves can come up through situations that stimulate these feelings. At almost the same time this is happening the Moon is opposing Venus. Echoing challenges with females/with partners. Feeling out of balance. Feeling the unfairness/injustice of something, What we are wanting isn't matching up with what we need. We are thinking/feeling all the ways our relationship/the other person isn't measuring up. There could be some kind of disappointment here.

And this is all happening in the background of the Aries/Libra polarity - me vs we.

Now, at the same time, the Sun (in Libra, so answering to Venus) is conjuncting Venus. This is one of the most harmonious aspects in astrology. This is amplified by the Full Moon in Aries, but opposing it. So, there is something here about us standing on our own two feet/being self reliant. If the ugly here is too ugly, the Aries Full Moon/Chiron opposing Sun/Venus can give us the grace and self-respect to DEAL WITH IT. To face whatever this is HEAD ON.

This is why this Moon will only be so challenging. Venus/Sun and Venus opposed Moon are both HELPFUL, loving. We are looking at the other person in a more loving way. Seeing the warts, the vulnerabilities in ourselves and maybe that is what allows us to be more compassionate with others. Maybe some person has been driving us crazy, and something may even come to a head here - likely this will come before the Moon  - and then, something either breaks lose - it is easier for things to end at Full Moons, especially this one - or, maybe we soldier on - the path to true love littered with fewer obstacles because we are dealing with the reality of what something is, warts and all.

This is all happening just as Pluto is stationing direct. So, here is the death that was postponed - the ending/the dead thing we are carrying around and need to release coupled with the Full Moon's need to exhale almost forces this to happen OR here is the thing that DIDN'T DIE, and now we have a full-load of Aries fire to breath some life into it/fire it up/push it back on track. Sun/Venus in Libra is loving, harmonious, peaceful. Speaks of our RELATIONSHIPS. Venus is trining Saturn, so this is SERIOUS. We are either committed or we aren't.

Rings go on fingers and rings come off.

The Sun is in a helpful (brakes off) trine to Mars in Gemini and Saturn in Aquarius. Here is the AIR, the fiery Full Moon needs. Mercury is just moving off his/her square to Mars, who in Gemini, is answering to Mercury who has just stationed direct, too, so we are probably saying things we have been thinking about or saying things we have said before, but now there is some force/fire/energy behind the words.

The Moon is sextiling Saturn and Mars, so we should be able - in the Moon's bright light - to see more clearly our options and limits. And, again, this is all about our RELATIONSHIPS. And probably a primary relationship.

And in the background of all this is the Saturn/Uranus square - separating now, but exact within degree. The old vs the new. The stability vs the chaos.

This is all forcing our RISING TO THE OCCASION. Whatever the occasion is! Whether we need to work on something that has run off the road or end something that is TOXIC.

We are all lying in the beds we made, so what are we going to do with these sheets and blankets and maybe even that person lying next to us?

The Aries Full Moon is answering to Mars, who is in Gemini and answering to Mercury in Virgo. Because of his own upcoming retrograde Mars will be in Gemini until March 2023, so this Full Moon is part of the long and winding road to March 2023. Happening with the Moon's final dispositor (Mercury) in stable and practical Virgo tells us the best way through this Moon is by being stable and practical. Attending to our health. Attending to our daily obligations. Small is BIG. The way we do one thing is the way we do everything now.

Mars is approaching his square to Neptune, and this, with Mars' upcoming retrograde will be repeating and ongoing. This is already in play and we will feel it stronger as October plays out. Mars is our drive, our passion, our action, our energy. In Gemini, this is us, doing two things at once or doing things twice. This transit has us focused on our Gemini house theme or the more general Gemini themes of communication, words, paperwork, the local community, school, schoolchildren, writing, transportation, tech, etc. The square to Neptune is like the draining of our batteries/attention. Maybe we catch a cold. Maybe we give in to youtube/Netflix. It can be an aspect of confusion. If we are already dealing with mental health issues/neurological issues/breathing problems or love people who are, this will, most likely, have our ATTENTION THIS MONTH and into next year.

Mars/Neptune in mutable signs can dilute our attention from practical matters and make it harder to make sense of things. It can be self-deceptive which can easily float us right into self-sabotage, especially if we, or people we love - because remember this is the me vs we axis at this Full Moon -  are already struggling to care for ourselves in meaningful ways. Mars/Neptune can also fog up Martian things, so we don't notice that wolf at our door until he has his teeth in our leg ... something to keep in mind.

The Sun is conjunct asteroid Psyche. In mythology, Psyche, was part of a 'long and winding road' path of true love story with Aphrodite's son Eros (who is in Libra, too, now) and with Jupiter headed back into Pisces to join Juno it would seem this is all reinforcing the importance of our RELATIONSHIPS right not. The Full Moon though is in Aries and this is her lunation. The Sun in Libra wants everyone to play nice and the Moon in Aries wants to deal with this damn wound (Chiron)!

The T-Square to Black Moon Lilith in Cancer speaks of the ways our relationship challenges are connected to our childhood wound/mother wound. The ways we weren't seen or heard. The ways our needs were not accepted. There is a need at this Full Moon to see/confront emotional FEAR. At this Full Moon we will be able to see/feel what we do with this fear. Do we hide? Do we project it onto other people? Do we get sick? Do we entangle/manipulate? Do we take action? Do we get bloody freakin' angry? Can we allow our bodies to process/feel it without judging it? The square to BML might also indicate an uncomfortable female energy at odds with the Full Moon. She wants what she wants, and if this is us, we will need to be thinking about how we might be sabotaging ourselves here. Keep in mind the lunation ruler, Mars, is trining Saturn and the empty leg of this T-Square is Saturn ruled Cappy. What do we need to take responsibility for? And what is not our circus/not our monkeys?

(note with the Moon conjunct Chiron in Aries this is pretty much about OUR monkeys and we don't want to be burning bridges based on some victim story we are selling to ourselves that isn't the WHOLE story)

We can see this is a complicated Full Moon. We can also see Mercury - and Mars is answering to him/her - is approaching his FINAL opposition to Jupiter in just a couple days. The last chance to mine for that old gold (via Mercury/Jupiter). AND with Jupiter and Mercury both on a world point AND the axis of this Full Moon - Libra/Aries. We'll talk about this in the week ahead.

This is probably a time we will be thinking about who we are within our relationships and who we are without them. If we can see our part in any messes/tangles and take action, likely to be more independent or to encourage independence in others, we would be better off than if we are still doing the Mercury retrograde "re's" - time to move on/forward. Pluto direct/Moon with Chiron at a Full Moon that is not so warm and fuzzy anyway, can hurt, can end relationships and ways of relating, but the pain will be REAL. With Mars journey through Gemini just getting starting there are many choices/questions ahead of us over the next few months and it would be a good thing if right here/right now we can clearly SEE in the most practical way, the REAL of our relationships. Our patterns of relating and relationship imbalances will be ILLUMINATED allowing us to check-in with ourselves, potentially toss some toxic behaviors onto the pyre before this next chapter.

I hope something here is helpful. I have been blogging less as my faithful readers have probably noticed. I am converting 2 newish jewelry shops I have on Etsy to an escape room box shop (Unlockkit) and Coloring Gift Box Shop (name in process) and this, plus, a community school project (which ended right at this Full Moon thank goodness) has taken much of my time. I should be back here more often in a couple weeks! I miss blogging alot and making and taking pics of new work - especially after 15 years of jewelry only (I do still have my locket shop, of course) - has been freaking exhausting and uncertain. I am mostly more a 'stick with it'er' than a 'start from scratch'er', but circumstances are forcing my hand it seems ...
