today's astrology forecast | wednesday, April 12th, 2023 - lightning bolt moments, the future is right in our face, home and family matters, are, yes, slowing us down for a reason
Wednesday, April 12, 2023I didn't get back for a weekly, so it looks like a couple dailies will have to do!
This is the week before next week's SECOND New Moon in Aries this year - very unusual guys, something in our life is REALLY wanting a new start. Next week's New Moon is also our first Solar Eclipse in Aries since 2005 at EXACTLY the same degree (within minutes) of the Solar Eclipse on April 19, 2004.
Jupiter, the planet of bigger-is-better, expansion, opportunity and generosity has just had his annual pow wow with the Sun
(don't forget Jupiter is the ancient ruler of Pisces, the sign of sacrifice, so what I find, and I have my natal Jupiter in Pisces, so this may be more obvious/true for me than a universal thing, but it is still something to think about because it may be the way Jupiterian stuff is designed to work. My attention/passion - and I should also note my Sun is in the third house in Aquarius, so naturally prone toward this being "idea" oriented - moves to something new and then the old thing kind of withers over time. It must be sacrificed to the new thing. You might be thinking, duh, that's obviously how life works. But maybe not always so obvious to everyone, and sometimes this sacrifice thing, might have to come first. Sacrifice being a word that has gotten a bad rap, but part of the way the Jupiter good-stuff is intrinsically designed to get to us).
Today, we are just hours past the Sun/Jupiter conjunction. Kind of PAST THE TIPPING POINT with something. There is a stellium in Aries (multiple planets), so whatever you are FIRED UP ABOUT is what this is. Fired up can mean passionate or pissed or even worried about (since our warrior energy can turn worrier sometimes). Vesta is here, so it might be something keeping us up at night. That second New Moon next week is making it clear life isn't fooling around. THIS IS GETTING STARTED.
Right now, the Moon - who rules Mars while he is in Cancer - is moving through Capricorn. Life is serious business. We are nurtured by rules and boundaries and how many cans of peas we have lined up in our cupboard. Although, with Saturn in Pisces, even this is STRETCHY. The rules are changing.
The Moon will trine Mercury this morning EDT and trine Uranus tonight. Good energy for serious conversations and being open to new things in a realistic way.
Lightning bolt moments. Breakthroughs.
By tomorrow our same Cappy Moon will square Jupiter and the Sun - tension/frustration, the last quarter Moon, if something has been moving too fast, well, here's the HICCUP with that - then she will move into Aquarius and meet up with powerful Pluto. Something is important here/won't be rushed. How we are feeling will tell us alot about the future/what we will be working with.
Today is also the day, the Sun, at 22 Aries, squares Pallas in Cancer. This is another slow your roll energy. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Pallas in Cancer pulls in home, family, the past, our maternal obligations. She is our wise warrior energy who works her magic through STRATEGY and recognizing patterns. The Sun is our ego/life force. In Aries, the Sun wants to GO, but he is kind of the fool here. We don't know what we don't know.
The square to these 'family patterns/our past and past conditioning' today, is helping us to SEE THEM. Then we must decide/take action with what we see based on our current circumstances and who we are now - past Black Moon Lilith's summer in Cancer.
The Sun in Aries will either plow through - which, looking ahead to tomorrow, doesn't seem all that wise. Or he will shift around the Cancer stuff, making decisions - we have the Moon in Cappy trining both Mercury and Uranus, our lower and higher minds - by adjusting/changing/looking at our PRIORITIES. For some people this Cancer energy can move in and we access a very old EXCUSE to hide. We don't want to do that AND we don't want to just plow over people/go too fast. There is a third road here and Pallas is just the energy to allow us to recognize it. This energy can show up quite literally as a home obligation (or self-care need) that slows our roll, and it's designed to, because home matters. Especially with Mars in Cancer. Does that make sense?
Stop and think. But don't just stop.

today's astrology forecast | Monday, April 10, 2023 | faith, hope, a time of action and motivation and beginner's luck
Monday, April 10, 2023I didn't get a chance to get to the weekly this weekend, hopefully I will have it up tonight. The end of the week looks challenging, so plan light.
For now, though, things are looking up and so are we.
The Moon is in optimistic Sagittarius - we are nourished/nurtured through adventure, through our big picture beliefs, our faith, by what is foreign to us, by making something bigger/taking something further. She will trine (brakes off) both the Sun and Sag ruler Jupiter tonight EDT.
We are feeling good.
The Moon's trine to the Sun is this month's waning trine. Sagittarius/Aries at 20 degrees. Our Full Moon story from last week continues to unwind. Something here falls into place - there is a smooth current between our Sag and Aries houses. Collectively this looks something like optimistic action, expansion.
This is all about POTENTIAL.
The Sun is also applying to his annual meeting with Jupiter tomorrow. Some astrologers call this "the luckiest day of the year", (note Sag luck comes through confidence and often a bit of risk taking) but what you will really find is that the positive qualities/the hope of some combination of the house in your chart they meet in - this year it is Aries - and the houses Jupiter and the Sun rule in your natal chart are MADE VISIBLE.
With Jupiter/Sun, again, we get to SEE THE POTENTIAL and sometimes we get LUCKY. In Aries, there is often a kind of 'beginner's luck' when we don't know what we don't know and we move forward anyway. Be brave.
HERE is my post about Jupiter in Aries that could be helpful now.
Note the Moon will be void tomorrow from 6:48AM EDT to 1:33PM EDT and then she goes into Cappy where she is required to be strong and get down to business (not her favorite place, but can be useful depending on your purposes and it certainly helps ground all this fire).
If you are going to use the Jupiter/Sun/Moon to START SOMETHING SPECIFIC - today/tonight are good. Tomorrow is, too, just avoid that void Moon period if you need specific results or are starting something new. Venus will also move into Gemini tomorrow and trine Pluto. That's a smooth flow and pulls in our Aquarius and Gemini houses - this will also pull in focus and INTENSITY. Keep in mind, today is Venus's last day in her home sign of Taurus.
Next week we get that second New Moon in Aries - the one that asks us what we forgot to START and to get going with THAT - this can be powerful motivational energy, but also, combined with these other energies, have us feeling like we have to start NOW and then we muck it up by doing something half-assed. We do/will have to start what we neglected to start or what we couldn't start any earlier, but we can also BE SMART ABOUT IT.
Anyway, back tonight or tomorrow with more, but I wanted to pop this up since the beginning of this week has some nice ADVANTAGEOUS energy - and the end of the week looks more challenging - something to keep in mind.
With Aries - results come through action, courage, starting, our masculine energy, MEN.
This is also the day, Juno meets Uranus and Ceres opposes Neptune.
Juno is about partnerships and contracts (also what we will do to maintain the favor of the "king"/connection to power) and Uranus is about change, liberating/chaotic. We might meet an unusual person now or begin a more "freeing" phase of a relationship. Ceres/Neptune brings a culmination/ending which, in Pisces, could be more of a 'slow dissolve' around something we have been nurturing or a change of life situation outside our control. Ceres is retrograde and this is their second meeting out of three. The retrograde period is always about re-viewing, re-vising. Nurturing. Healing. What is working? What can be revised? What is out of our hands anyway and we need to have faith - Moon/Sun/Jupiter?
I hope something here is helpful.

the meaning of the astrology of the New Moon in Aries | March 21, 2023 - ain't no turning back now ....
Tuesday, March 21, 2023If you are here, alive on this planet right now, and I assume you are if you are reading this, although some days I wonder about all of us :) well, we are IN IT.
Things are LIT as the kids say. Or does everyone say this now? I need to keep up.
On Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 1:22PM EDT the Aries Moon meets up with the Aries Sun at 0 degrees launching a new lunar month and year. This is impulsive, fiery energy.
Years ago I heard an astrologer say that for Aries, life is something like, "Ready. FIRE! Aim.". And, yes, this is what we need to be cautious of here, BUT not so cautious that we don't make a move, take a risk/the call/a chance.
Aries says speak up, do something, it's GO TIME, ready or not.
Let's unpack the chart!
The New Moon meets the Sun at 0 degrees Aries. The Moon opposes a retrograde Ceres in Libra EXACT. The Moon sextiles Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon is inconjunct Saturn in Pisces. The Moon squares Mars - ruler of Aries and ruler of this lunation. Mars is conjunct asteroid Chaos EXACT. Mars squares Ceres. Mars trines Saturn (applying) and squares Neptune (separating). Venus is conjunct the North Node in Taurus and also conjunct Juno EXACT. Jupiter is inconjunct Uranus EXACT.
The Moon meets the Sun at 0 degrees Aries. We are starting from the very beginning with something. 0 degrees Aries is called an Aries point - first degree of a cardinal sign. Our collective attention is together, so often this means big things are happening in the world. An Aries point New Moon pretty much assures collective events will be important.
As with all New Moons, the skies are dark. The seed goes into the ground. The sperm goes into the egg. The start is in the dark. We can't see what is happening/where this is going. In fiery Aries, starts can be fast, impulsive, passionate. Things can come up quickly and we are going to WANT TO RESPOND. What are you feeling fired up about? Head in that direction. With the Sun and Moon together our life force/energy and our emotions are on the same page. Our conscious and unconscious in the same space/portal. Conjunct planets initiate new beginnings. In Aries, it is no less than our very IDENTITY that is impacted - we are BECOMING SOMEONE NEW.
The New Moon opposes Ceres retrograde in Libra. This is our needs/wants vs those of our partners.
Since this is exact here we are definitely needing to deal with this with whatever is starting. Oppositions can bring endings/culminations. For something to start, something else needs to end. This might speak of a relationship ending or the need to correct some kind of imbalance in our life. With Ceres here, this could be about a nurturing or caregiver situation, child/parent for example, and something NEW comes along that requires us to rethink/re-examine/re-prioritize the care we are putting into someone/something, so we can put more care into this NEW thing or ourselves.
Since Ceres rules the seasons of our life and things outside our control, this might be about a "change of life" situation that closes one door, our foot in the door will only get crushed - it's closing - and then the New Moon opens another.
(I know about this crushed thing from experience. I was in Florida for a few days last week. I will tell you guys all about it in a later post. I was getting dropped off at the airport and I went to stop the car door from closing, I think, wth I was doing is kind of unclear at this point, but I was standing outside the car with my hand on the door. I managed to totally close the door on my thumb. The door was closed flush with the car and my thumb was in the door. Crushed. I had to open the door with my other hand and I was thinking OMG I just broke/crushed my thumb, MY RIGHT THUMB, and my trip is canceled. But, luckily for me, and my right thumb, they must make these car doors with more cushioning these days because it wasn't broken. It was flattened, then swollen, cut up and throbbing, of course and I had to sneak some contraband ice - although it's a solid not a liquid anyway, or that was what I was going to say if caught - onto the plane and then proceeded to ice it for about a steady 24 hours. It's still a little wonky and swollen, but doesn't hurt and will be ok - my life flashed before my eyes though .... maybe I have a strong right thumb from holding cans of propane to braze, like I think, or maybe, as hubs says, I had my hand in exactly the best spot, if there is a best spot for such thing, where the door curves, to prevent total demolition. Either way that was number 1 of about 100 surprising things from my trip, I will tell you guys about :)
The New Moon's sextile (creative opportunity) to Pluto catches Saturn, ruler of Pluto right now, at the mid-point. With Saturn freshly minted in Pisces and in this awkwardness with the New Moon, the materialization of solid things will not be a straight line. But, since he rules that sextile I am thinking some roadblocks/limits will end up being a 'blessing in disguise' kind of thing. Note this aspect is separating/has somehow already happened.
Venus and Juno are tightly conjunct and have just passed over the North Node and opposed the South Node.
THIS is the future. Right here. Right NOW. The one we have attracted by focusing on what we TRULY VALUE (or not). By being slow and steady (or not). By seeking moderation and quality (or not). By leaning into something more simple and stable (or not). By having mutual respect and dignity within our relationships (or not).
Keep in mind conjunctions start new chapters which, of course, unfold from the preceding chapter. Note Juno is retrograde and about to back into Virgo when she will be all about fixing the relationship stuff that isn't working (or ultimately forgetting/releasing what isn't fixable as she opposes Saturn at some point not too far from now).
Venus/Juno are opposing the South Node. Oppositions are endings and the opposition to the South Node is kind of echoing Ceres opposition to the New Moon. Something needs to be released here to free us up.
Scorpian "somethings" can be about complicated entanglements, third party situations, debt, compulsions, manipulations - a loss of power in some area of life might be expected/need to happen in order for us to focus on the new seeds in the ground, which, keep in mind, we can't really even see yet with these dark skies, so might not even seem worth it at this point. The stars say otherwise.
Mars has recently started covering new degrees in Gemini, the sign he has been back-and-forth in since August. This is important to notice. Also he is in a mutual reception - for a VERY BRIEF PERIOD OF TIME THAT INCLUDES THIS NEW MOON ACTIVATION - with Mercury in Aries. This is good news. Mars - as us - is covering new ground and can get to Aries (back to himself) through Mercury. Mercurian pathways include our thinking, ideas, conversations, information, tech, siblings, transportation. This is a better position than Mars, as us, was in even a week ago, so keep that in mind, We aren't pulling the Mars crap we have been dealing with FOR MONTHS into this New Moon fresh start.
Mars is in a complicated position though and he rules this New Moon.
He is still out-of-bounds/not playing by the Sun's rules. This might sound like a good thing if you are feeling somewhat rebellious, but it usually isn't. He forms a T-Square with the New Moon/Sun, although out of sign and it will never perfect, so it's aggravating and we can't get past it, because it's not really even there. We might in some way, and this isn't always a bad thing, feel pushed into both the fiery fresh start in Aries and the Libran ending/conclusion. His smooth and stabilizing trine to Saturn does perfect and will reach perfection (exactness) on March 30th. This is our actions harmonizing with the rules/authority/structure, or our dreams, and will be Cancer/Pisces so maybe more emotionally and intuitively stabilizing than rock solid, but that's ok. It will feel good.
Mars is also EXACTLY conjunct asteroid Chaos.
Yes, I know, so, that doesn't sound good and is kind of re-emphasizing Mars being out of bound and the fact Pluto is about to go into Aquarius and start answering to chaotic Uranus. Chaos would likely indicate a period of doubt, overwhelm and confusion. This New Moon event catalyzing chaos isn't really surprising with everything going on in the world right now.
For us, personally, anytime we have an Aries New Moon, because Aries is the first sign and doesn't know what it doesn't know - we are going to have to deal with some chaos. We are going to need to be brave, and Aries IS brave, so there we go. We might want to turn around and go backward, but with so many planets about to change signs within just a couple days there is no way this is going to work - except maybe the Ceres/Libra relationship/nurturing/change of life thing - and even that we may have to just throw up our hands at some point.
There is no point looking backward because there is nothing back there for us anymore. This will likely be brought home to us over the next month.
Mars sits at 28 degrees Gemini during the New Moon which is the home of fixed star Polaris. Polaris is also called the North Star (if you were standing at the North Pole it would be directly over your head) and is located at the tip of the tail of the small bear and has been used as a navigational star for centuries. This is probably the star we were wishing upon as children, so I like to think it carries the energy of millions of childhood wishes (one of the reasons I named my lockets, Polarity).
Let's think of it like that ...
To bottom line this New Moon in Aries - we get the energy for a fiery, bold, brave NEW START likely focused on ourselves. We are at the very, very beginning of something. We can't see where this going and things will be subject to change. Chaos is likely. We don't know what we don't know, so we need to stay flexible. If we are still exhausted from all the Pisces we have been dealing with, I know I am, well, we don't have to run a marathon here and all this Aries is designed to WAKE US UP - ie motivate us/aggravate us/spur us to action anyway.
The price of admission, yes, there is a cover charge to open this new door, is the ending of an imbalanced nurturing situation or relationship that needs to culminate or be scaled back to allow this New Moon energy the fertile ground it needs to flourish (Ceres back into Virgo will help us fix it or forget it).
Keep in mind - there is an unusual and potent second New Moon in Aries - which is an Eclipse - in about a month, so there are some 'second chance' vibes in play, although the world is going to be a very different place by then, being that Pluto will have changed signs for the first time since 2008 and Mars, ruler of this lunation, will have moved on, too.
What are you going to do proactively with this energy?
Start with your affirmations. They will help you get clear about what you want/what you need to do. I'm thinking somewhere around 4PM EDT on the 22nd as the Moon applies to her conjunction with Jupiter and sextile to Mars. The morning of the 23rd is good, too.
If we chart the course of the Moon in Aries we will see the Moon meets the Sun, then Mercury, then Chiron, then Jupiter, then goes void off a sextile to Mars (remember that square we start with to Mars is out-of-sign), so as we move through the New Moon cycle we move into that creative opportunity/sextile with Mars.
Since the Sun and Moon are together we can chart this New Moon through the Sun, too. The Moon does everything within a couple days and then the Sun : meets the Moon on March 21st (New Moon), the Sun won't catch up with Mercury because Mercury is FLYING (we will be, too), meets Chiron on April 5th (light on a wound/vulnerability), meets Jupiter on APRIL 11th (Venus will also be trining Pluto this day, mark your calendars, this is about luck, faith, love, power), the Sun won't sextile Mars because Mars will also have moved on. So the solar story from this New Moon ends with that conjunction with Jupiter. Sun/Jupiter is hopeful, lucky, expansive energy.
So we have a good closing aspect for the Moon and a good closing aspect for the Sun - this is always a good sign and, I think, a good place for me to stop :)
New Moon Affirmations
AFFIRMATION TIPS: get into a calm, centered frame of mind - always make affirmations from a positive space (meaning both certain and upbeat) - write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud. With a fire New Moon maybe write your affirmations on strips of paper and burn them. Now release your attention from these things knowing that your intention is known.

Back with the Pluto into Aquarius world changes post I have been procrastinating .. oh my
weekly astrology forecast | march 6th -12th, 2023 - busy week, full moon in virgo, saturn into pisces, endings and beginnings
Monday, March 6, 2023I hope everyone had a nice weekend.
This week is BIG . Next week is BIG. The next week is BIG. Alot is in flux.
By Wednesday, Saturn will be out of Aquarius, not to return for almost three decades. Some will feel this right away. Happening during Pisces season will really amp up his move into mutable water!
The sextiles this week will pull us into next week's more challenging squares, so double check things THIS week. Finish up what you can. This much Pisces can lead to miscommunications and misunderstandings. Check in with people who are disconnected. Know the effects of drugs/alcohol will be greatly amplified. Take your vitamins. Get enough sleep.
MONDAY - Sun sextile Uranus
TUESDAY - Full Moon in Virgo, SATURN ENTERS PISCES
SATURDAY - Venus sextile Mars, Mercury sextile Uranus, Juno enters Taurus
SUNDAY - Jupiter conjunct Chiron
MONDAY - the Sun, at 15 degrees Pisces, sextile Uranus in Taurus
This is SMOOTH CHANGE that can create, over time, greater stability, security with our resources, self-esteem, money or values. Freedom. Liberation. Making the 'dream real' energy. The new is integrated easily through the Piscean energy of going with the flow, relaxing our grip, using our imagination, etc. The Pisces Sun makes our ego less solid/no boundaries and so is able to work with the fixed earth of Taurus. Note, Mercury will be here Saturday, so we could SEE the new now and be talking about it/making plans later in the week. Note - sextiles are not strong aspects, so some kind of action needs to be taken with this or it will just float right on by us. Water and earth can make beautiful clay pots or mudslides - it's up to us.
TUESDAY - the Moon, at 16 degrees Virgo, opposes the Sun in Pisces, Saturn leaves Aquarius, after about 2 1/2 years and moves into Pisces for the next 2 1/2.
This has its own post HERE. Collectively Virgo Full Moons can culminate health or work situations. Results can come in. The Full Moon's trine to Uranus in Taurus can bring in money or situations that increase our resources/values or self-esteem. The Full Moon's square to Mars speaks of tension/frustration with communications, details, information. It can make people argumentative. It can make it hard to focus/sleep.
There is likely to be alot going on. Emotions can run high.
Collectively Saturn in Pisces is the LONG GOOD-BYE. Letting go of what we can't control and focusing on being responsible with what we can is our best way through this transit. By the time Saturn reaches Aries - and Neptune - in February 2026, our reality is going to be totally transformed!
SATURDAY - Venus, at 23 Aries, sextile Mars in Gemini while Mercury, at 15 Pisces, sextiles Uranus in Taurus, Juno enters Taurus
Lots of creative opportunities at the end of the week as Venus makes an opportunistic sextile with Mars - what we want and what we have to do to get what we want working together. Aries/Gemini. Fire and air. Action and words/ideas/communications. AND at the same time we have Mercury making ANOTHER opportunistic sextile to Uranus. New ideas and information. Talking about change. Making future plans. Learning new things.
Juno enters Taurus. Commitments. Our relationships can become more stable, focused on what is valuable/real. We can partner for money/see the way partnerships make us more or less financially stable or hurt/help our self-esteem. We might become possessive of a partner. Not a good transit for long distance relationships or anything less than what we see as rock solid. We know Juno in Taurus will meet up with the North Node in Taurus to 'seal the deal' and then she will be on a collision course with chaotic Uranus at some point, so just when that 'rock solid' grows too stagnant, there will be CHANGE. It's all good.
SUNDAY - Jupiter meets Chiron, repeating Venus's move last week. A very old wound is triggered, maybe around our ability to take care of ourselves/be ourselves, triggering an opportunity for HEALING. Our vulnerabilities can be visible/magnified. Jupiter's blessings come through faith, generosity and taking a risk - keep this in mind.
The Moon on Monday and Tuesday is in Virgo - so very productive, organized, practical. The Full Moon's aspects will fuzz things up, and the square from Mars will pull in some challenges. Our best bet is that trine to Uranus. We talked about all of this HERE. The Moon goes void on Wednesday at 9:07AM EST off a productive trine to Pluto (power, career, goals). She is void until 9:44AM EST when she moves into Libra. Now we are nourished through balance, beauty, other people, love. While in Libra, over the next couple days, she will oppose both Jupiter and Venus and trine Mars. Those oppositions could brings conclusions, endings. The smooth trine is echoing Venus/Mars on Friday. The Moon n Libra goes void at 6:36PM EST on Friday off a testing/power struggle square to Pluto. She is void until 7:06PM EST when she dives into Scorpio to give us a deep/immersive weekend. In Scorpio her aspects are mostly all good, other than an opposition to Uranus (change, the unexpected). By next Monday the Moon is making her monthly waxing trine with the Sun for a smooth release.
Next week we have:
